That's a rather rude response! Would you say that a Jugg (in the hands of someone who knows how to play it) is never a welcome addition ? I can see that he wouldn't be useful for speedruns.... I've been running around on platinum without the juggernaught ... for quite a while.
... Jugg is a noob character for people that dont have the ability to be able to hold their own in platinum which I susspect you are one of them.
If your playing as the Juggernaut please don't do this...

Now I get it. See, this is the confusing part. You say you want a discussion, but you actually don't.
That's okay, too. Sometimes people just want to share their opinion in the forums. You don't like the Juggernaut because it interferes with the way you want to play.
Every time a slew of new kits come out, that happens. It happened with the GI, the TGI, it happened with all four Volus characters, and it happened with the Krolord, the Juggy, and especially the AIU.
But you need to be clear about the fact that it's an opinion you want to share, and that you're not looking to discuss how the game works.
Say , "I don't like this kit, and I don't play well when someone else uses it, so I'm going to kick people who come into my lobby with it."
That's better than stating it in terms of giving advice to other people on how to play the game, especially when you're still figuring that out.

Oh yea...I sit there and wait for 10 waves. Right...enemies are dead before they reach us. Again, play with me in a game before you talk.

So true, no one is complaining but people on this forum like to put the word complain or noob into the equation. This thread was NOT created to explain to people who already understand ME3 mechanics how or what not to do. It was for weaker players who now can play on platinum and need to be aware of a situation and how to act accordingly on it.
I played a game with three friends and a random, I was a talon merc and no matter what enamy he was facing he put a giant shield up and he was in the lower doorway by extracton on FB glacier. Try shooting any of the mercs abilities through a shield. I had to just avoid him and so did my other teammates who were just as peeved. So we had to deal with the agro and he kept dying because he would only hold an area.
I didn't create this for people to say that I'm complaining or that I don't know right hand advantage. I created it so people could put their feedback into the pool for positive solutions. Looks like the randoms that always ruin a game also do it in the forum.
Riiiiight? No way you could put a trip mine behind the Hex so when the enemy inevitably walks through it to attack the Jugger, BOOM!
Edit:
It also sounds like you're the kind of player I've had to deal with when I use the Jugger on platinum. Low lvl players who haven't a clue how to take advantage of a Jugger on the team. The Jugger's purpose is to hold an area and attract as much aggro as possible, for the rest of the team to either kill the surrounding enemy or complete objectives. If you are complaining about his design, then it's a failure on your part to grasp his game play.
I have the suspicion that you and your team ran round like a bunch of loons trying to spawn nuke (without using any missiles) while the Jugger tanked an entire spawn in the main hall, and inevitably got downed.
I've been running around on platinum without the juggernaught or volus for quite a while. And you can look at my stats on N7HQ if you like to see if I have a low level or not. Your failure to spawn nuke precludes you from elite status, be gone. Fastest most effective way to do platinum runs. If you haven't got over 200 missles, you're doing it wrong. In addition, any number of characters are capable of hitting spawns effectively without the use of a missile. Also life saving missle on Platinum? With 4 players and armoured compartments, you have access to 36 missiles in one match!
If you need more than that to clear FB Glacier, platinum you're doing it wrong.
Also, get back to me when you can solo gold while eating a sandwich, then you will have attained my level of play.

I have seen a thread posted on here from the other perspective, a jug user made a thread complaining and asking the community to stop shooting his shields and to use their heads and focus on shooting another enemy instead.
Both threads make good points, his and yours. Though your only negative factor from a shield being in the way is the match taking longer or your score being lower because you cannot kill one enemy as fast as you might, the negative factor for a Juggernaut not using his shield (or having said shield repeatedly shot by teammates) is a question of surviveability - something of paramount importance. While the juggernaut tanks the Boss unit, that unit cannot harm you, but if he falls you become a target for one of the most powerful units in the game, capable of killing you in a single hit or a few blasts. not being able to clearly shoot him is in my opinion, a small price to pay for the protection you yourself are gaining from the juggernaut himself.
I understand it is irritating, especially if you are playing a headshot focused sniper build, wielding a weapon specifically for bosses, like a Javelin. If so, communicate nicely - If I am running a juggy I would be happy to work together and adapt my playstyle for others, I always try not to impede other peoples view - but if my shield barrier breaks that hex-shield is going up whenever, wherever while I melee it back up. Avoiding death is a much more pressing matter than worrying about inconveniencing you. Sorry!

Depends on your definition of speed run. If you mean >15 minutes platinum, then I'd agree he isn't, not unless you have a very good team and are on a very paticular map like Glacier.
The Jugger is a fail safe device, when PUGing and ecountering scrubs like the OP. Carrying on Gold is do able without the Jugger. Platinum, not so much unless you are the same level as Link N7, INVADERONE etc. who can solo Platinum. I can't, Gold yes, Platinum no. Yet, you can still get times of 20-25 minutes with a Jugger on the team if the chaps are good players, and do so with minimal effort.

It's helping the Juggernaut.
Guess what. Choke points are targets of focused fire when there's a Juggernaut holding it down. Everything coming to that choke point means that often the ENTIRE WAVE is focusing fire on that Juggernaut while you stand in the box and wait for them to come to you. Voltron is doing his job making sure the enemies don't come through that choke point in unmanageable numbers for the rest of the group. If you could solo Platinum I'm sure you would be doing doing it, so no matter how good you are there are three other people in the group who may not be as godly and strategically gifted as you. And if The Big O over there has to drop a shield to make sure that 5 Marauders, 6 Cannibals, 3 Brutes and 2 Banshees don't kill him faster than Rock and Roll killed big band music, shut the Hell up and go stand behind the damn shield and dance in and out of it to kill things on the other side while it's focused on the Gigantor instead of standing where you spawned going "DON'T PUT THAT SHIELD THERE I CAN'T SHOOT THROUGH IT GOSH".

Just go kill other stuff and come back when the spawn wave is depleted if the shield is in the way just leave it kill other stuff I'll be fine as long as you kill that trio of marauders and that ravager behind me.
case in point heavy melee restores shields thus as long as your heavy meleeing (even in platinum) your damn near invincible if you have somthing your sucking the life from

but another player was a noob, he kept shooting the shield instead of just moving to the side a bit, even when the shield was blocking a swarm of mobs (that were about to get eaten up by the hazard swarm) while we tried ot deal with mobs from the OTHER direction, WTH ruin a block that got us swarmed form both sides AND the hazard swarm was coming so we needed to concentrate on the mobs AHEAD in the little connecting corridor?!
Sometimes blocking a doorway is a damn good idea, you know, sometimes.
