Who would you like to see as cameos and who do you want to be party members?

From Origins: I'm pretty sure Leliana will return again at some point as a party member. If the Qunari plot is advanced I want to see Sten. Alistair has GOT to be involved somehow but I think Morrigan should return in another game focused around her and Flemeth. Wynn should also come back since she knows a lot about the Circle Magi.

From Awakening: I think Nathaniel and Oghren should be our go-to Grey Wardens in the story and I'd love Oghren back as a companion.

From 2: Varrick should come back as a companion and I'd welcome the return of Fenris but only if he looks less like a JRPG character.

The problem with this is that a lot of these companions (IE: Oghren, Nathaniel, Alistair) could be dead depending on your play throughs. In my play through Nathaniel is alive but Alistair is dead and Oghren isn't a grey warden because I never recruited him in Awakening.

That didn't stop Bioware from imposing a forced canon in DA2 and having Leliana alive NO MATTER WHAT.

Also doesn't Wynn start the Mage/Templar war NO MATTER WHAT after DA2 even if you kill her in Origins (through a book or something?)

Forced canon seems the order of the day.

No cameos at all, unless they make sense. Majority of the cameos in Da2 seemed to be shoved in to say "Your choices had some effect!" or "This is the sequel to Origins! Here are some characters from the last game to prove it!"

I'd like to see Leliana in a major role, but I'm okay with not having her as a party member.

Varric is the only other character who has already been a companion whom I could see coming back in the same capacity easily. He has many stories yet untold, including his own, and from what I've seen, there's plenty of love and very little hate from fans.

Wynn died at the Circle in DA:O in my play through. And that's the only storyline she's involved in that matters to me.

Mostly I want all new companions. Because I associate them with their respective PCs, and I'd rather a new PC have their own set of companions. I prefer to see old companions reappear in npc-only roles unless their PC is playable again.

And unless the returning character still has a story to tell. As much as I'd rather Alistair wasn't separated from my Warden, there's enough interesting things potentially going on with his character that I wouldn't be completely against him returning as a companion.

You realise she was basically already dead at that point and being kept alive by the spirit, it isn't that much of a stretch that the spirit who already saved her from death once just moments ago can do so again.

Oh btw, seeing that the comics just promoted Sten to Arishok I think there is very little change he will do something more then a cameo in DA3. I think only Tal'vashoth would make sense in the story, seeing that no Qun abiding Qunari would work alongside the Inquisition.

I'm probably on my own here - but I really fancy seeing what happened to Aveline (DA2)...I think she may well be one of the best written/voiced characters and also one of the easier companions to organically be seen. Maybe she leaves Kirkwall as things get so bad she can't legitimately and honourably keep the peace...meets the Inquisitor on her travels/search for a new role....

That is genuinly interesting but there is no official canon as you can leave sten in his cage and create an individual canon.

I never want to see any romantic interest companion appear again if I'm not playing the character that romanced them. Ever. It never turns out satisfying and just ruins happy memories.

I'm fine with any of the non-romancables. I wouldn't mind seeing Sten again as the Arishok, or Shale in her re-dwarfed body.

From Origins just Morrigan. I would be more interested in cameos of companions from DA2. Well those that couldn't die anyway. Something to offset the loss of the expansion. But no Tallis on any account.

More than anyone, Carver. Varric, Fenris, Sandal, Jowan, Sigrun and Howe would be good to have back, too.

Oh, and Shale/Sten!
