Can't with photoshop, I edit then save them to BMP then I use the DirectX TextureTool (in the SDK) to generate MipMaps and save them to 16bit V8U8.

No clue what it does or doesn't tbh, I know it eats compressed DXT and BMP's, you'd have to just try I think =)

Ohh, V8U8 afaik. That's all. You notice errors in the lighting if you use a different format, especially on the wrap seams.

I replaced the dress-that-one-has-to-be-poured-in, and used the coalesced hax listed earlier.

It has the unfortunate side effect of putting the normals of the classy dress (Shep's) onto the floozy dress (the one the **** is wearing).  I may have to find a way to revert on my MaleShep/Ashmance playthru, because I bet it puts that incorrect normal onto her too.

Yeah I warned about that normal bleed. You can easily revert though, I have the clean PCC that contains the dress hosted and downloadable via the OP link that goes to my dress retexture.

If you use the PSK resource ELE posted up (also in the OP), you can pick a different mesh to replace and sidestep the issue. You'll just have to replace the mesh and the textures for whatever outfit you pick yourself.

Are the weapon stickypoints' glowy bits handled slowly by a glow map? It just occurred to me that they forgot to make the shotgun stickypoint glow on all of Shepard's torso armors.

I don't know what you mean by "weapon stickypoints" but armor torso lights are mapped on the specmap's alpha channel. I should say on average, seeing how they like to shift the function of the various channels around sometimes. It's easy to spot if you go through the channels anyways.

Ahh i'll report back here so you guys know I'm still around. I'm absolutely immersed in mesh-import for the moment, picked up 3ds max and have successfully gotten some hairs to work.
Writing a tutorial atm on how to get these to work, and making a blog about the mods I've created, because I don't think I should add mesh mods to this thread as well. Would just get confusing.

Once I'm done with the tutorial I'll go back to finishing the texture mods I have pending, and the Mesh-mods will be something I'll casually pick up on the side I think. Just for customization options though, nothing like what Geto's doing.

Ooooh, hair tweeking?

Could you try to fix Default FemShep's "slightly disheveled bangs" hairdo to play more nicely with the custom head mesh so manually altering vertex positions isn't needed anymore?

Nice. :D

And that means I can properly face-transplant a non-vertex-edited face.  It had some weird stretching around the seam between the face and the rest of the head around the neck that looked unsightly especially when she turned her head.
