Some progress on the Ashley alliance uniform mod. I have been adjusting weights on her shoulders to try to reduce the bending of the shoulder boards on the uniform. Here's the latest (no texture...default Ashley uniform texture wrapped on it so it looks bizarre).

The shoulder boards no longer bend at a sharp angle in the middle between her neck and outer shoulder. They do still curve too much right at the ends but now I know what to do to fix that.

No. There were minor mesh weighting issues that were fixable but the main issue is texture-related issues, and I can't do textures. Ottemis was going to help but got swamped with other things.

It was quite a while ago.  Ottemis had told me she would try to help me with getting the glowy correct texture corrected but she was also swamped with her own work/issues (lots of ME3explorer problems then) and I got caught in my own issues too.  I haven't messed with that particular mod for quite some time.

Ottemis' new Ashley HR texture for the default uniform reduces the illusion of a short skirt and looks much better in general.

As to Ash's intro outfit, i'll have to get back into it but i'll put it back on que. I wanna push out Ash's CE red version of the above first and finish Kaidan's default blue armor which is halfdone atm.

@Jhushx: Ah damn, that's a pain in the ass not being able to sign up =o Ehh I wish I could do more and I'll no doubt release the DLC mods myself given time but I'm just not there yet, sorry.

@JakeMacDon: Thank you, hun =) Fortunately for us, it seems Jessica and Jesse over in the READ ONLY thread have heard the modding communities pleads and are reconsidering turning the projects read-only come tuesdays so for now the crisis is averted. No idea what they will decide to do with them in the long run, but for now this is definitely good news.

On that note, I have created a new topic in the Bioware General section where people can link any resource or modding blogs that they feel should be rescued. While blogs are just being switched to read-only on tuesdays, they will inevitably be deleted so we/I plan to back up all important information before that happens.

Hi there,

May I know if anyway can do a mod / change for textures on the following MULTIPLAYER characters:

1.)
Human Engineer / Infiltrator vanilla (male and female) - to have the N7
armor texture with logo and color (red and white stripe on one arm)

*if N7 logo can't be included its fine...

2.) Human Soldier / Vanguard vanilla (male and female) - to have the "N7 defender armor" texture with N7 logo, stripes etc...

*if N7 logo can't be included its fine...

3.)
Batarian
soldier, adept, sentinel and vanguard - to have Bray's armor
look? (this is is from Omega DLC) see reference from Mass Effect wikia

Thanks! If this can't be done then its also alright! I saw your works and I was curious if you wanted to add more MP related mods. Though reading on your threads it seems you're quite busy. No harm in asking though, keep up the great work!

@Helitak: Hey! I really only do MP mods when I happen to have retextured an SP mod that (almost) use the same wrap and I have some free time. I'm primaryly an SP modder, sorry. I'll keep it in the back of my mind, but no guarantees.

@Broey Moween: Atm I'm staying here as long as projects stay untouched by the BSN changes. If they ultimately will be phased out I'll most likely build my own site to host my mods (and likely feature those of some of my close modding friends if they wish it) but it'll be a closed circle thing as I won't have the time/resources to maintain something community wide myself.
I already have a seperate blog for my own mesh mods and tutorials but I don't think it's suitable for the texture mods I've created seeing the sheer number of them. I plan on housing my blog resource posts there in the future though.
If we do get a Nexus site that allows for Mass Effect mods I'll most likely host there as well, but we'll have to see if that comes off the ground and in which timeframe.

Atm I'm gathering the modding blog posts before blogs disappear here so we can find a suitable home for those and preserve that knowledge. I've created a thread to round them up here.

@Ottemis I am hoping you can help me out with something. I have completed (FINALLY) a Tali mod that gives her a fully working face (eyes, eyelashes, lips, tongue, etc...the whole thing) but to complete it for release I need to alter the texture of her helmet faceplate. Do you know how to alter the opacity of her helmet visor? Is that a texture issue?

From my experience you can't control opacity for visors through the texture, the affected area is often masked in one of the channels but the transparancy effect is controlled by the material attached to that part of the mesh. Sometimes the colour overlay can be removed if you remove the mask information from the specmap channel that's being used for it. You can't alter material properties or effects, but you can swap them so if you want to lower opacity your only option afaik is to change material. There is no saying there is anything available that'll do something similar to what you're looking for. It'll take trial and error.

Thanks Ottemis. I'm not sure if that makes it easier or harder for me :-/ I'll play with materials in 3ds and hope they export into a working product in-game.

OK...nevermind.  I found a fairly old post at the ME3explorer forums that explains how to change Tali's visor opacity (uses combo of ME3explorer and Hex editing).  

Thanks to Ottemis for answering and to Saltisgood in absentia because he originated it.

You probably won't be able to find it in 3DS, the game uses material packages and you can't actually look into what effects are tied to them, so it's very likely something that you can only influence through the material editor in ME3explorer. If you manage though, more power to you. I haven't actually messed with materials very often, only on my kuwashii projects directly. The visor textures I've run into a lot in my retexture work though.

I've put 9/10 squadmate armors up, I still want to make some changes to the normalmap on EDI's outfit so I'm holding that one till I've done that. Now working on the armor sets, 5/7 are up at the moment.

I also managed to get the visor opacity thing worked out. Easy (now that I know how, that is).

Cool, glad you got it worked out!
And yeah I'll stick more time into modding again soon, I've just had a lot of other things pop up aswell the past while so it's not really been possible to have a good sitdown and get back into it recently. Soon though I expect to be rolling out stuff again =)

Wanted to add, if anyone has any screenshots of the items I put up on the Nexus, you can submit them to the albums. I'd much like that actually if anyone is willing and has some nice shots. It's cool to see others use the mods =) I haven't properly played in ages, so my shots are limited. I've already added some I got from others in the past.
