In my opinion, the ME3 nexus is a milestone in ME 3 modding: a central place for all the ME mods. Now all modifications will be available at a central place.

I've given my endorsement to Ottemis' files, and a kudos point to the creator herself - I think this is the least she deserves for all her efforts and hard work in making ME 3 looking great, but still staying true to the original textures. :)

Other: might I ask what are you working on currently?

I'm currently finishing up some art commissions and am uploading my mods tot he Nexus in downtime but will get back into actual modding by bringing out the last Ashley armor (red version of the default) and finishing Kaidan's default armor.

Thanks for the support guys <3

I installed Garrus' 2nd armor mod but he's all black like a shadow.

@PorcelynDoll: My .MODs are all tested to work (and I have just updated to the latest REV and rerun it to reconfirm this) so that is a client-side issue I'm afraid. Likely this is due to one of two things:
1. Outdated version of ME3Explorer
2. Previously installed (likely outdated) mod that has corrupted your install.

Certain mesh and content mods have been reported to cause issues with texture modding, be it through causing direct install errors or causing the black texture bug for textures replaced after those mods were installed. It is not advised to use mods that were not rebuilt after the release of REV 473, which was somewhere August of this year.
If the problem persists and you are unable to pinpoint  the culprit even after having started from scratch on a fresh install, I would suggest taking the issue up in the bug report section of the ME3Explorer Forums.
If you do manage to find out which mod is the cause, I would bring it directly to the author's attention.

I just got explorer 2 days ago so it must be the new one. I restored my back ups and tried again. He was fine so I installed some more and this time some of the extras in Javik's cutscene, which I can live with, but I will try just installing yours and not the Smarteck's conversions by Karlitos. The only other things I have done is used Ele's Brooks hair replacement and Kaidan hoodie casual wear swap. Maybe I can narrow it down to the culprit in a few days.

I can only personally vouch for ELE's mods as I know she's a solid modder, never used any of the others personally so I wouldn't know hmm. If you have a suspicion which one it might be, tell me and i'll run a test to confirm. Would make it less of a gamble for you.

I took out the Kaidan swap because it changed all the male officers to the hoodie mesh but I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I installed your mods and Smarteck's conversions one at a time and so far everything is fine. Maybe it was installing them all at once that corrupted some of the files? I don't know but I am very happy everything is working since you have the most amazing textures. Thanks for the suggestions.

For your information, WarrantyVoider has released a new download at the ME3explorer forums that makes it easier to mod DLC content.  One of the previous issues with modding DLC that has kept a lot of people from doing it is that your game might fail the startup integrity check on the DLC if it was modded and those DLC would be unavailable for use in-game...unless you replaced your ME3launcher with a hacked version.  Now that is no longer a worry.  There are two files to download here: me3explorer.freeforums.org/post6503.html#p6503

This allows you to mod DLC and still enjoy your DLC.
:D

I just got that but it overwrites my hud keybind to bring up the console and I don't see how to change it.

Don't want to hijack here but...address that to WV. Perhaps he can set it up differently if it is a problem to remap the hud.

The nexus network seems like a really great place to host the amazing mass effect 3 community.

Has anyone else noticed the fem shep dress gets replaced by the regular one on the citadel dlc? The texture is the same as I can see the sash that goes with it on ottemis' replacer but the colors are of the original fugly one. I added the line to the coalesced to try to get it to show up. Maybe I added the wrong line anyone have any hints for a noob like me?

Ignore my last post it turns out the coalesced editor I was using wasn't saving the data D: Also I want it to be said I'm about 30% through the game using just about every high res texture I could get my hand on in conjunction with some mods that change the look of the game. Ottemis thank you very much. Your work is godlike and I am using almost all of it. Thank you very much god ma'am.

Hey Ottemis. Just a quick question. I was reading your tutorial on ME3 Explorer (great job, btw) and I decided to use the modmaker to permanently replace in-game textures (Texmod is a pain). Thankfully, people like you and Smarteck have created .mod files so we can do this. If someone's .mod file crashes or the error '' Attempted to read past the file stream'' appears when I try to run them, is it because of the incompatibility issues? I'm running them individually so I don't think it's crashing because of performance issues. If it is the incompatibility, is it an easy fix?

Also, I recently downloaded a texture for Ashley that changed her face, and I'm not quite fond of it. I've made a backup of my entire game, but how exactly do I remove this one specific thing?

Thanks

I might jump in here cos I'm bored.

@chris2365: First question: Yes, it could be an old .mod or you could have setup Texplorer with modified files. So you need to delete your installation and install/download it again.

Second question (related to first paragraph): You can extract textures from .mod or download the .tpf that most modders include with their .mod. This way, you can extract textures from the .tpf and rebuild it, then build your own .mod.
That sounds hard and complicated, but it's not. There's stuff on the me3explorer forums to help out (tools, tutorials).
Then you can simply delete Ash's face texture and rebuild the .tpf/.mod.

Thanks for the response. So to get Ashley's old texture back (the vanilla texture), I have to extract the modified texture I put on her and modify it back to the original? Or can I just put back the default file that has the texture for her face (assuming her texture is just one file)

@chris2365: To get Ash's vanilla face back you can replace the PCC's the mod modified with your backup copies. You can see which were altered either by filtering modified date for all the PCC files containing 'ash' (25/04 is vanilla, assuming we're only talking basegame here, otherwise you'll have to vanilla DLC as well) or by loading the mod back into modmaker and checking which PCC files are in the modjobs from there so you know exactly which to revert. Only thing is that you will lose all other modifications made to those PCC files, so for instance if you ran the armor .mod I made for Ash, that will probably be undone and will have to be rerun. After you replace PCC files, always run the TOCbin Updater to check for updates =)

There is actually a section in my tutorial under troubleshooting that touches on undo-ing basegame and DLC .mods briefly as well. When you apply a .mod you basically commit to using it so I'd really advise to check textures out ingame with texmod and/or check out provided screenshots before applying them permanently seeing it's a hassle when you have to revert PCC files just to undo a mod and you generally can't use texmod over already modified files either.

@Hellion0352 : I'm happy you're happy! Little note on the DLC dress issue, even with the coalesced 'fix' there are still one or two instances (in certain convo's) where you are forced back into the DLC dress that can't be sorted out. That's why I made the black version with the belt for the basegame dress, it's the same texture as the one that she's forced into which I included in the Citadel DLC Pack =) It'll work for the most part though with the coalesced edit.

I did a thing, not Mass Effect related though =o I bought Remember Me in the Steam sale and had to do something about her outfit(s). I'll see about popping it up on the Nexus once it's back up, I don't think there's any mods up there for that game yet so I can break ice =) For those interested:

Thanks guys =) Just waiting for the Nexus to approve the game so my mod can be published!
Slowly working on her main outfit as well, I'll share some pictures when I'm a bit further along. I gotta say though that frankensteining jeans together is a pain in the ass lol.

Alright guys, couple of things!

1.
Posted Image
Nilin's intro outfit is now live on the Nexus =) The game was approved and the files are published. You can check it out here!

2.

I've updated Ashley's default outfit to include the squadmate selection screen images. I've released a new .TPF, a Basegame and a DLC enabled .MOD. I've changed the download location linked in the OP here to direct to the Nexus instead now.

3.

I've finished and released Ashley's Collector Edition Armor in .TPF and DLC enabled .MOD format. Again, the download location linked in the OP directs to the Nexus.
