EDI AAP Armor rereleased. Fresh normalmap, adjusted squad selection screen images, fixed format on the TPF and released a DLC enabled .MOD as well. All on the Nexus, links in the OP redirected.

Ottemis, do you know of any EDI default textures that play nice with the more recent versions of ME3Explorer? It seems that the one I used to use causes the more recent ones to mess up. If there aren't any, could you take a try at it?

Any .mod created with REV473 (mid august 2013) or above should work fine in combination with more recent mods afaik, if they were created before REV473 you might have issues. It is possible to recreate a .mod with a fixed format TPF through Texplorer's ModMaker.
Didn't both JeanLuc and Smarteck do EDI's default outfit for ME3? There might be a fixed format tpf for either or both in Antarius' thread on the ME3Explorer forums. He's spent quite some time fixing TPF's by other modders so they could easily be used to recreate .MODs with new REVs.

The ME3Mod file I used is in all likelihood made with a pre-473 build, so that explains it.

I'll see if I can try something with a TPF...

Yeah check this thread, I see Antarius did a fixed format TPF for Smarteck's EDI default outfit:
http://me3explorer.f...d-tpf-t610.html
If you open up Texplorer, click "Mod Generation" in the top navigation bar and you can select that TPF, it should show all textures to be valid then you can create a fresh .MOD from it =)

I wish I was on PC
These look amazing! Especially those custom phantom armor skins
I've always wanted some special spectre armor in the games, it's a shame there never was any.

Well, it's never too late to start ;)
ME3 is cheap now, and modding it has never been easier :D

I'd need to upgrade since I barely hit the minimum specs to play

This is actually true of A LOT of PC games! I just started playing Dragon Age 2 again because of all of the texture mods and other items and changes, and it's a MUCH better experience than the previous playthroughs! Another PC game you may want to check out is Skyrim. It has the biggest modding community I have ever seen. Last time I looked there were over 30,000 mods for it on Nexus. It is truly a completely different game with mods. I can't even fathom how people played that game on consoles, and I now have the exact same feelings towards Mass Effect 2 & 3 because of modders like Ottemis and the awesome work they do. It really makes the game MUCH more fun to play when you just stop in the middle of a misson because you just HAD to stop and take in how amazing everything looks, especially your character.
So yeah, jump on the PC bandwagon, we have TONS of room! :bandit:

Oh, and I picked up Oblivion GOTY from Steam when they had their holiday sale JUST to try out the many mods for it!
My only wish right now is that ME3 had a mod manager like the Nexus one that kept track of all of your installed mods. Heck, I wish ME3 was easier to mod so we didn't have to replace everything. It needs an "override" folder or something lol

I'm going to sound like an old hack now, but I know from personal experience that modding ANY Unreal Engine-based game before version 3 of the engine was pretty much ******-easy. There was no encryption, no textures baked into the maps (levels) of the game and no other special circumstances to be regarded.
Hell, they even gave you the map-editor with a lot of the games.

From version 3 onwards however it's a different story since from then on the engine was developed with portability between systems in mind. That brought with it all the detriments that made games like ME3 so hard to mod in the early days.

Yeah the override folder works like a charm for dragon age, I cry silent tears for how convoluded we have to work with the Mass Effect series. The modding tools are still in development though, there are some bright things on the horizon!

Funnily I think I'm one of few people that actually believes they would have given us modding freedom had they been viably able to with this engine. I just think the cost of making something like that fool-proof with this engine made that impossible. I mean, we are lucky when it's made easy but we can't expect that functionality to be there per say when it's something they will always have to stick time and money into to get to function. In the end you need a backbone that allows for content to be added to a game without it costing stability. But yeah, I seem to be the lone ranger with that outlook. Maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but ehh.

Also you guys might make me blush soon <3

By the way, I'm close to finishing Liara's CE Armor, the wrap is the same on the Default Armor, just had to rework the diffuse and I'm redoing the specmap atm. It'll be done later today, maybe tomorrow.

Oh hell yes, it looks awesome
Looks like i'll finally have to cave and start modifying DLC content.

Update edit: I went ahead and had Texplorer rebuild the texture tree with DLC content included, then went ahead and applied the highres alternate version of T'Soni's standard outfit and dropped the DLC patcher in.
Everything works perfectly... now I can go ahead and patch all the other DLC outfits as well ^_^

Thanks again Ottemis, you texture wizard you

Y'know i don't have a clue as to how you guys mod these things..(i've heard of the process) but i don't do pc gaming but I only come over to this section to see the amazing mods you guys perform. Ottemis....your work is incredible!!

The process of applying the mods isn't all that difficult once you've figured it out, Ottemis has a very good tutorial for that which pretty much covers it all.
As for the actual texture modding, that is on a completely different scale.
I have modified textures for my 3D program sometimes, but it was not nearly as difficult as creating DirectDraw Surfaces (the texture in combination with bump, specular, transparency and normal map).

Aww thanks guys <3

As an update: I'm actually looking into my ME2 Armorpack again atm, while it's complete for Femshep I still needed to normalize the carbon on the normalmaps and I wanted to make it compatible with Maleshep as well. It bothers me though, it's a lot of work and everytime I work on it and don't complete it I set myself back as it takes a while to get back into it purely because of the sheer amount of textures already created for that pack. It crossed the 100 line easily and is rapidly increasing. Ofcourse I also end up redoing parts I'd already finished before purely because I'm better at it then I was back then and it no longer fully lives up to my own standards lol.

It's a nightmare but it's getting there.

Btw I don't think I posted this up here, only on Tumblr and released directly to the Nexus but I createdd a skin complexion that is compatible with ELE08's newest complete character overhaul mod.
Her mod is seriously worth it, I'd advise everyone to use it as it's all-encompassing and looks great =) I plan to tailor any skin complexion releases to her custom scalp so there will be no seams when you use both together.
My mod also redoes the default Jane complexion so that it doesn't overwrite any of her modded textures when permanently applied.

So! My new complexion: Extreme Freckles
