I just gotta fix my OP lol, looks like there's a 30 image per post limit now. If only I'd have thought to make a placeholder post way back when.. but then I didn't think I'd end up modding the freaking planet so there's that.

Ottemis! I'm having some problems with the new EDI mesh mod you released. The installation goes through cleanly but fails to work in game. Is it because I have the visor removal mod installed too...? Are they clashing? Any input?
Also, are weapon reskins hard in comparison? What're the odds you've been thinking of making a Spectre or Alliance colors version of the Harrier?

Just in time for me to take a Mass Effect break
Oh well. I can come here and oogle your goodies.
That sounded wrong.
No Ele, that sounded very right ![]()

Omg guys. Modding subforums for Mass Effect. I am a bit teary-eyed right now, not even kidding.
Great to see your tribute to the HR gods moved so swiftly Otte!
And have to agree with @silverhammer08 - the place looks great, yet to try on my phone though, the ultimate test.

Am a little puzzled that my post count has not carried over from BSN....not that it was any near as many as some here, hmm puzzling. Maybe because I changed my display name...surely not.

Impressed! I said some negative words about this on Reddit (thinking that Modding was going to be gone), but it seems the opposite is happening. Sorry BW.
I was half-way thinking that too, to be had...
Got to say, nice interface, and less hassle getting custom avies in. A proper modding-subsection is very welcome and appreciated too. Noyce!

What version/REV of the toolset are you using, in what order are you installing the files and how and are you installing anything afterwards or inbetween?
Possibly, show me a screenshot of how she looks ingame so I can gauge if the mesh, the textures or both didn't apply correctly.
Weapon reskin aren't particularly hard, I did some way at the beginning more for practice than anything else, it's just unlikely I'll do more seeing I'd rather reskin armor / make new meshes etc. It has more impact.
Btw guys, the post count, that was fecked for me yesterday as well but it seems to have sorted itself out today. Wouldn't worry too much about it yet.
Oh, I tried it on my phone, I wasn't disappointed! Very sleek if a little limited, but that's ok.

Wow. Shiny and new. It's like being back in the Delphi Forums of old. I can finally change my forum name and avatar without leaping through a billion hoops.
So, Ottemis, I'll ask you a question I've tried asking elsewhere and received ringing silences as replies - since Thou Texture Mavens can now flay and skin ME3 practically at will, what are the chances of altering the vanilla Sheps to any appreciable degree? Say, giving FemShep some new hair/scar/nose-ring or MShep a beard/'tasche/monocle?
Impossible or very nearly so?

Ok well there are already several hair mods floating around the net, mostly for Femshep but I've seen some for maleshep as well. As to custom scars, there are scar continuation projects and people that have released custom facial textures with scars embedded it them I think, custom facial textures as a whole are quite common. A nose-ring would be something to be added to a mesh and would have to replace or be attached to a current mesh, say for instance the hair, as such it'd really only work for the shep you make it for as you'd have to account for facial shape and the nose offset.
Male shep facial hair options are harder because they need to be masked, pretty sure they've been tweaked to look better in certain packs and some people might have ported joker's beard etc? I just don't think I've ever seen unique ones done. Monocle could be done replacing one of the combat helmets I suppose =P
If you had something specific in mind I can help you find it for sure.

No, that's cool, don't put yourself out. I was just curious and not at all serious about the monocle, although Mordin should have had one, dammit! There was a person some time back who had made a few texmods (hate texmod with a passion bordering on maniacal) that gave non-vanilla MSheps either Kaidan's, Beefslab McHugelarge's, Anderson's, Hackett's or vanilla Shep's complexions and some decent scars. Unfortunately, this person decided that BSN didn't deserve them - (too bad, they were gorgeous) and killed their project. I'd always hoped there was a way to ME3Explorer some permanent scars, etc back in. I still have them as I managed to download them before they were ashcanned, but I'll be damned if I know how to or even if it were possible to put 'em in for good. I assume every third guy that shared the complexion used would get whatever scar. Thanks for the explanation.
This is one of the reasons you rock you rock amongst Texture Gawds. ![]()

Not if you use femshep's/maleshep's custom textures =) Pretty sure they're not used on NPC's.
And it's possible to get permascars, i'd suggest integrating them into the normalmap of your actual face texture, that way they don't interfere with the renegade scarring at all. I don't mind doing that for you but I'd need a link to both your facial texture and the scar in question =)

Well, I appreciate the offer, but all I have would be those aforementioned textures as files (no links, as I said the project was abandoned)- and they don't actually belong to me. Even though they were abandoned I try to respect the creator's rights. They're pretty old, two years at least. Could I be able to apply them somehow with KFreon's tpf doodad? Or would they need some kind of reconstitution?

@Errationatus: You can apply the textures with TPF tools 2.0 if the format is conform to the ingame textures. We can do the normal editing under the table if you just plan to use them for yourself and don't share them publicly. I know which modder you're talking about, btw. Whatever you wanna do hun.
@PKchu: Long time no see! Hai =D

Well, I wouldn't know how to send you the textures to start or how to create a mod from them after, I'm afraid. Last time I checked, you are a rather busy woman (I'm inferring) and I have no real desire to impose.
As I said, I was just curious as to the possibilities.

Well if you ever change your mind just poke in PM about it =P And I appreciate you protecting my time but I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to
Plus honestly combining two normal maps isn't that hard for me =)
On a different note, I'm working on EDI some more atm, finishing up the Default outfit DLC packages and I'm creating a meshmod for her Alliance suit and it's darker version.
#1168
Posté 26 février 2014 - 10:51
And i'm looking forward to that new Mesh-Mod, this way I can have EDI "naked" on the ship and in a suit on missions with the same proportions ![]()
I will probably poke you about a Scar-Mod once you're done with that mod tho ![]()

I appreciate that. Thank you.
Unfortunately, something screwed my entire install of ME3 ("What? You wanna play? No, sorry. All that DLC you have? Y'know, the DLC that worked fine yesterday? Can't authorize it, sorry. Also, you're a d!ck and we hate you.") and I have to re-download the whole thing. Which means having to reapply everything. This after having to continuously replace the PCC's because the up-to-date MeExplorer kept refusing to add a single mod without fecking something up. Kinda wish the whole process was something punchable. Actually, no "kinda", I really wish the whole process was completely punchable. I would need new hands because I would punch my old hands to the wristbones by the time I was done beating it into an unrecognizable mass - no pun intended. I don't care how irrational it sounds. ![]()
PM you? I had thought the only way to PM anyone was if they were on a 'friends' list - or did that get changed with all this new porcine lipstick?

Lol well, ME3Ex last Rev requires a rescan of the tree, then authorization issues with DLC mean you gotta use the authenticator (it happens when you mods DLC, look under the download subforums), then if you get corrupt messages it's because one of your DLC went over 2gigs in size, the game doesn't like it. Make a copy of your DLC folder right after treescan, if you get corruption messages, copy the vanilla back over the DLC that is causing the issue.
And yes =) We can message anyone again, but you can add me to friends regardless =)

Yay! I have Ottemis as a friend! I suck less now. ![]()
I seem to be up and running again and will be trying to get your pretties installed - this time I do one or two at a time. And... bang! When I try to load a mod called "Alliance Dress Whites" I get an error saying "Can't authorize Citadel Base Pack". I have no idea what it means other than it makes my blood pressure rise. I know I'm not pretty but why punish me?
Ah, well. Back to the drawing board.

You need the DLC Authenticator, that one can also be found on the ME3Explorer Forums. More specifically HERE
Every time you apply a mod that also has Textures for DLCs you'll end up having that auth issue when you start the game.

Ah. Apologies for not being thorough. My brain used to like me, now it's all "What? Huh? You want what with the who now? Is something on fire? I'm hoping it's not my ass. Remember to check sometime." I figure by the time I get my final set of moobs (man boobs), I'll be done with all this 'trying to keep things straight' nonsense and just mindlessly mash buttons rather than waste people's time.
Still, I appreciate the help.
