@RMAM: I'll have a look.

Edit: Alright, let me package this tweaked mesh so you can give it a go. You might still see through the hair in some places but the issue should be largely eliminated now.

Run the TPF via Texmod for the moment btw, I'm working on an idea to rewrap the texture so it can sit on a DXT5 hair-texture without interfering with any of the existing hairs. That or use one of the existing hairtextures entirely and just rewrap the mesh. ETA unknown, still trying to think of best approach, it's something I've wanted to do for a while.

The updated package is featured on the Nexus.

Edit2: I think I know what I'll do with the texture. I'm going to enlarge one of the existing hair textures, most likely the EVA one, then rewrap that hair at original texture size so I free up three extra spaces on the same texture surface. It would mean I'd have to include a meshmod for EVA's hair with my hair mods, but I could feed in three custom textures without messing up any existing assets or breaking compatibility with any other mods currently 'on the market'. I think that's my best bet, I'll run some tests to see if the theory is viable later this week.

You're my hero!!!!!

Yeah, okay, just found a Shepard that was romancing Ash and applied that new 'pink' armor mod of yours to her, Ottemis.

Yeah.  It looks serious.  Almost makes me nostalgic.  Nicely effen done.

Next time I just have to remember not to put any points in 'Marksman'.  Oy.  Over and over she hits it, that girl.  Sheesh. <_<

Now ...if someone would only do that level of fix on Javik... he needs a HD makeover sumfin' fierce.  Poor fella.

Also,

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians!

If you turn off squad auto powers her marksman works just fine

I pretty sure that answer is not, but - is there any way to add that "cape" from male version of nightmare arena armor to female version?

Nevermind. I thought that armor is best in game, but looks like for infiltrator parts of other armor is much better.

I see you've moved past it but the answer would be: Not without mesh modding =) In theory anything is possible.

Hi Ottemis, I have installed EDI's From Ashes Outfit and Vega's From Ashes Armor, but they are not showing up in-game.  All of your other mods are working fine.  Any help would be appreciated :)

It did find matches in the tree I assume and the debug window showed nothing anomalous?

I don't believe there were any errors...Could you tell me what textures I need to replace if I were to install the textures manually in Texplorer?

EDI's from ashes armor is a mesh and texture mod, while you can apply the textures without the mesh, it's not advised. This issue is indicative of a problem with your setup, while you can try and bypass the issue I wouldn't be surprised if prevents you from applying other mods later.
There is no reason for From Ashes content to not be moddable while the rest is, are you sure it was included in the treescan and/or no errors occurred during treescan that might have compromised the tree generation for the DLC? That or maybe you have a backup somewhere that the mods are being applied to instead of the files the game loads in. Also, I assume you are actually using a toolset rev above 622? You have to use one of the latest rev, preferably the latest SVN and have treescanned with it.

At any rate, the textures, EDI From Ashes: HMF_ARM_EDIb_Norm, HMF_ARM_EDIe_Diff, HMF_ARM_EDIb_Spec.

She shares textures with EVA on this outfit, EDI is only found in DLC_HEN_PR BioH_EDI_02.pcc and BioH_EDI_02_Explorer.pcc.

Vega From Ashes:

HMM_ARM_SANf_Diff, HMM_ARM_SANf_Spec. DCL_HEN_PR BioH_Marine_03.pcc and BioH_Marine_03_Explorer.pcc

Information on revision 654 (SVN)
Read before updating!

KFreon has been working on rewriting some of the toolset functionality for months, pulling the texture tools (Texplorer, TPF Tools) and Modmaker inline code-wise and making it more universal across all three mass effect games. Today he has released the first revision featuring this update, read more about this update here. As this is a mayor overhaul we expect there are many issues across all tools that must still be addressed before this overhaul is polished and ready to be moved to the SF.

What this update needs is testers, and lots of them.

My advice for the moment would be to keep a copy of the latest revision before the overhaul for anyone that wants to simply apply mods and tpf's to their games for playing purposes. This revision is not meant for people that simply look to mod their game with as little hassle as possible.
For mod creators, .mods will currently lose compatibility in the new rev due to some changes in the script. Script compatibility is on the list of things to be added but as it's not yet included in this REV, don't update your mods with it or advise users to use revs above 653 for mod application as of yet.

If you would like to help us iron out all the issues with revision 654, download this version of the toolset and keep it separate from whatever revision you are using to apply or create mods atm. Pick and choose which toolset release you want to use, be it the new rev for testing purposes or the old rev for mod creation or application of mods.

Help development by making detailed bug reports for the new revision! I've written a post on proper bug reports here.
Note that there are three new sticky's under the bug report section of the official ME3Explorer forums. One for TPF Tools, Modmaker and Texplorer. Please post bug reports following the guide in the proper thread.

@Ottemis, you mentioned elsewhere (I think) that the DLC scan is no longer needed with this new revision?  Is that true or is that an erroneous interpretation on my part?  If the DLC isn't scanned, then how do all the pcc files get extracted or is THAT no longer what happens?

It should work the exact same as any rev past 622. AKA same extraction process etc.

Thanks Otte. Updating later today and will submit 'issues' if i come across them.

Cool thanks babe.

Vanilla on both ME2 and ME3 running at moment. Tree scans here i come! :D

On a side note i just want to thank Otte for all her help getting me to the place i am with modding. Without your excellent guides and friendly help i would never have got to the place i am now with being able to mod the game and normally work out problems on my own. Your help and advice is second to none and a huge thank you from me, you are the best!

Already adding bug reports as i come across them..

Issues so far: -

  • Texplorer not reading content DLC (CEM etc.) - Reported
  • ME2 .mods crashing tpf/dds tools on load - Reported
  • No ability to change used hash or replace image in TPF/DDS Tools 3.0 - Reported
  • Image format error in modding ME2 from .tpf - TPF?DDS Tools - Reported
  • Texplorer error trying to change textures. Clicking pop-up buttons does nothing but make them vanish - Reported

As a pure texture modder the new toolset is a total no-go for now until these errors are rectified. I'm abandoning using rv654 for the time being as it does nothing i need it to do yet :)
I cant change textures in Texplorer or TPF/DDS 3.0, mods for ME2 and ME3 just crash loading in TPF/DDS 3.0 and no normal map from a tpf can be used due to format error.

I was looking for the from the ashes armor to replace the n7 defender if that is possible. As I haven't got to good at removing helms from the other armor. And I have breather on that one. =P

That's more trouble than it's worth, sorry. Especially if the motivator is not being able to figure out the coalesced edits.

I'd have to create a mesh mod just for you (including helmet), then create a custom spec for the new armor slot. People underestimate how much work is involved.

Ok one question. I want to replace the beginning armor in the game manually which .pcc file do I load in meshplorer to do it? I don't want to replace the dress (cthk)
