Lore wise shepard would get shot on sight by the alliance in his cerberus outfit,
maybe he is just trolling Ashley.

It makes no sense whatsoever to fly your enemies colours.
I like the armor design, but it would have been much better if it had Alliance, Spectre or N7 colors and insignia, I think that's what people wanted, Cerberus armor design+Alliance colours, like some of the armor your squadmates can wear.

Yeah, not one Spectre theme armor in the whole trilogy (like Vasir, right?). But Cerberus? It's good armor, but damn.. they're not even trying to think what fits storywise or not.

Tell that to the Alliance themselves. They're issuing Terminus armor and repurposed Phantom/Kai Leng armor to their N7 troops.

I thought Kai had been an N7 soldier before he joined Cerberus?

That's not actually true - it has terrible head clipping issues (back of the head & hair shows through the helmet) but it is in the game:

He was. How is this relevant?

What armor is that? Never seen it (I use the 360 btw.. maybe it's different). I've played up to level 60 and thought I saw everything.

I was thinking more along the lines of something with Spectre insignia as well (like Vasir.. although I seem to recall another Spectre has it as well).

Maybe he kept his old armour rather than Alliance troops re-using Cerberus armour? That is to say, Kai is using Slayer armour rather than N7 slayers using Cerberus armour.

What armor is that?

That is - appropriately enough - HKSW Spectre Armour

Damn, still something new to see after all of these years. Too bad it never made it in officially.

I agree with everyone who didn't use the Cerebus armor because of "lore" reasons. Now, it does make some sense in ME2 if you're a renegade, but ME3? The only way it would be cool to use is if there was a mission where you were pretending to be a Cerberus solider. To be honest, none of the ME2 DLC armors looked appealing to me to actually use. Give me modular N7 armor all day.

I do think that the Cerberus armor looks cool, but that's really besides the point if it makes no sense story wise.

I guess Kai Leng's old Alliance armor just has the Cerberus logo emblazoned on it then.

Given that TIM is so obsessed with Cerberus' image that even their sidearms have the logo on them, I imagine that to be the case.

Take note bioware: provide multiple skin selections for the armor templates, or at least make it easier to mod in your own without jumping though hoops like we have to now. That being said, I LOVE my femshep in Nightmare armor, it's gorgeous.
