While it has build up, the actual chemistry doesn't mix well with me. It just seems so OOC to me. Heck, even Veetor would make a better match for Tali IMO.

To be fair, Veetor was getting better, and I could see Tali getting to know him post ME3 and develop feelings for him.

They're not exactly analogous, of course. But Garrus and Tali are very good friends, and do respect each other a lot.

Are they very good friends? That seems more like an assumption based on length of service with Shepard than supported with character scenes.

Just to clarify, I tend to think they are good friends but I'd be hard-pressed to write supporting evidence for that.

I don't see those on the same level personally. I'm not a fan of Vega-Ash, but I'm not gonna complain about such a minor thing.

That very first dialogue is completely platonic, I just got it with my Garrus romancing Shepard.

Even with those engineering dialogues, it still feels very out of left field to me. I don't see how people consider their only conversation in ME2 with Tali threatening Garrus with a shotgun as 'playful flirting'. She sounded grumpy and he sounded like he was just teasing. He does the same to Wrex in the DLC and I doubt he has the hots for him.

I'm not going to stick to Chezchs and Poles. That doesn't matter at all.

Some probably do think like that. I personally do not - if my Shepard wasn't with Tali, I would want Tali to be happy with someone else and Garrus would be fine.

I was just saying why I don't like it personally. Kal'Reeger/Tali would have been better IMO. Could have had them talk via comms, Tali showing she was worried about him, wanting to see him again, etc.

Problem I have with Reegar/Tali is a general problem with non-player romance I have (in games, TV, movies); for most romances I can only really be on board if they have equal relevance to the story.

For example, good god that Harry/Ginny romance.
