Also, kicking because a person doesn't use disposible gear is also horrid.   Disposible gear is a crutch.  I like to play without it.

its part of the game ( consumables ) leveling your character is also a crutch....

edit: btw, for those of you who don't use consumables - I guess you will not be one-shooting anything with a javelin gi since you won't be using sniper rail 3 and phasic 3 rounds.   But I  guess you must think using the tools to allow your sniper rifle to one shot thing on gold is not playing very smart?

Considering I only play Platinum and I don't use a Sniper Rifle it doesn't quite matter.

The problem is that quite a few people depend on consumables.   And seeing as consumables are completely random some people will do well one game and then completely suck then next when they don't have it.

Running out of one consumable makes you try out another loadout or even another kit thus making you a better well rounded player. For example I had no idea how good the shotguns in this game were, after I ran out of assault rifle and SMG amps I decided to try some shotties and liked most of them.

the point should be obvious. in a pug, it's proper etiquette to help the match go as smoothly and quickly as possible. this includes consumables

On Gold, you don't need Consumable to 1-Shot Mooks with a Javelin.

Gi with Javelin X with body shots on Gold ( no consumables, Sniper V gear ), under tactical cloak

# shots  Enemy
1           assault trooper, guardian
2           centurian, turret, engineer, nemesis, dragoon, phantom

Same with Phasic 3 + sniper 3 rail
One shot all those with a body shot except dragoon and phantom


Yeah, more effective with consumables.

Spawn nuking is just good gameplay. The only time it's a bad idea is objective rounds.

There's at least one guy like that in every PuG I play. God forbid they use their rockets to clean up those two Banshees/Primes/Atlas after wave 10 objective, or rocket some spawns on wave 8/9. Not gonna happen. But once the magical wave 11 starts, spawns start dying like in a glacier speedrun. How nice of them to speed up extraction, I really hate to wait for that shuttle any longer than I have to.

Oh really? You seem like one of those kids that use the "best of the best" banner and think they know more than the true good gamers. He was cryingggg and cryinggg and trying to kick me and guess what i said? I said, watch and learn son. I'll get more points than you. Guess what i did? I got more points than him. Why? Because i don't need no 25% damage bonus to make my characters deal more damage per second than these "best of the bests" we see. Obviously there is gamers out there that can deal more damage than me when i'm using a level 1. But not the pugs i tend to come across.

I only kick if you have a combo of a low level N7 rating (like anywhere from 1 to low 90's) and a low level kit (that's only on gold)

It's mainly the low level that irks me, N7 rating doesn't bother me as much

If your N7 is that low you don't belong on gold because you probably haven't even played on silver yet

I thought the start of this was somewhat fun, and then it got quite serious

Salarian Infiltrator isn't a caster and the Widow/jav are both 1 shot and both excel with him.

Yeah, it was all in good fun, somewhat educational, but then you mix in a few of the regular trolls, a couple of the usual curmudgeons, and some of the "know-it-all-everything-has-to-always-be-about-them" elitists (and there's a lot of them around here) and well... as with most fun things on this forum it turns into a big smelly lump of recycled Alpo.

Every thread about not using consumables throw up a bunch of BS spouting guys who claim that they can outscore everyone on Gold without using consumables ... blah blah blah. Interestingly enough, none of them has any videos or screens-shots to back up their BS. (I exclude J4mes from this category.)

I've played with a number of real elites - the guys who can rule Gold without consumables, and they always use consumables.

I had another one last night who kept dropping wave after wave and not using medigel and I was like, "ummm, at some point (espeically on extraction waves) it would be nice if you used some medi's, man" and he replied, "it would be nice if I had some medi's!"

You're going to get a kick if... you have no consumables when you play gold.

Oh, and he wasn't using equipment so of course he left by wave 8.

I only kick on 3 occasions:

- if someone's being a dick on the microphone (actually this never happened)
- if someone is not playing the objectives (so only from the 2nd game on)
- if I'm in a lobby with other friends and they want to kick someone
