The connection in Malaysia isn't the worst I guess. I could get semi-decent games last summer.

I hail from Malaysia as well. You still can hop on Multiplayer off and on when the day is done just that time zone differences is an issue. Even so I have had the honor of playing alongside with some great players such as Blind2Society, Scampoo, Bolo Xia, FasterthanFTL (I think these are the late night US players)
If you PUG mainly like I do, just be prepared to play with many Russians (Communication barrier)

Being a teacher will be a very rewarding and heat-warming experience if you get used to deal with the parents and the school executives. Don't know about Malaysian schools but most of the problems for me come from the "monster parents" and superiors.
