Agreed. The man can do no wrong, nobody can stop him, gets a tad dull.

I like to headcanon Cerberus rebuilding Shep to try and get the Prothean Cipher because rebuilding him because he's just that amazing is unbelievable and kind of illogical and silly as an explanation. I liked it in ME1 when Shep was just a very good marine, not some kind of demigod who can do no wrong.

Yes...because becoming the first human spectre ever and having the Council on your side meant nothing. He was just a very good marine...nothing more.

Cerberus wanted the same Shepard from ME1. The Shepard that became the first human spectre. The Shepard that gained the trust of the Council and the council races.

Most importantly...they wanted the Shepard who was a damn good leader...because that's exactly what Cerberus' mission in ME2 needed.

Not because he was "some kind of demigod who can do no wrong".

Hyberbole is fun...I get that...but come on.

Just saying, they overdid the whole "damn good leader" unstoppable force thing. And just to point it out, his first Spectre training mission was an utter disaster (Saren's fault to be fair) and many of his later successes were down to luck and/or other people's talents, but he gets all the credit.

Maybe I just don't find him as charismatic as some. Not saying I dislike him, and he does have many a cool moment, but I don't know... I just feel like he's not really as amazing as he's made out to be.

I would like something like KotOR II (although maybe more involved, like what DA sounds like, I say sounds like because I have never played any of them) class based interrupts would also be a good Idea. something like we got on omega, or a biotic character being able to save victus on tuchanka by using lift instead of just letting him die.(yah I know we didn't get that but it should have been possible)

I don't know. The council never believed my Shepard's claims, Udina was a traitor before he was indoctrinated, Kaiden yelled at her for joining Cerberus. I managed to ****** off Miranda and lose her loyalty that one time. She also was sent to Alliance HQ for killing 300,000 Batarians. She was only released because of the Reapers, the things she had warned the galaxy about throughout two games.

My Shepard earned the respect that she got. She saves Tali from Shadow Broker forces, helped Garrus put a huge dent in three merc gangs on Omega that dropped the crime rate, saved Liara from eternal imprisonment and a Krogan Battlemaster.

My Shepard has been to hell and back with everyone she is with. The ones who don't worship her every word, like Ashley if I save her is because her family is strictly pro alliance. James is a rebel until Shepard proves herself to him.

So I don't really see the complaint, at least for my Shepard. The only thing Shepard has is plot armor, and that's only because it's a freaking game and killing Shepard means the game ends. I don't really enjoy real world logic in my game is all I'm saying.

If I didn't want to play as a character who was strong willed and powerful from the get-go I'd go play a game like the new Tomb Raider.

I never really felt that the Mass Effect universe bent over to please Shepard. only ones that did it were the squadmates and he pulled the charm on those guys because he needed them and they were impressed with what Shepard did over the course of the journey. It's not like he earned that status from day one.

Most of the time, the rest of the galaxy couldn't care less about what Shepard wanted or did.

There are also consequences of certain actions in which some characters just wants you gone from their area or outright kill you. If you look hard enough.

Besides, I like being praised for my great deeds from time to time.

Also, what's the point in even bringing a squadmate if you're just going to deliberately push them to the point where you have to kill them? Seems like time better spent somewhere else. Sounds very pathetic too.

It's always refreshing to see someone use actual in game points to make a point.

I really don't understand how the OP and others cannot see this when they play the game.
