The power the Mattock puts out for it's rarity makes it the best uncommon weapon. But I love the Phaeston. If the Phaeston did as much damage as the Harrier it would be the best weapon in the game.

Hands-down favorite Uncommon for me is the Phaeston, an all-arounder which is a distinct upgrade from the Avenger, and which doesn't really have a direct upgrade in the Rare/UR AR category... Except maybe the Lancer now.

Phalanx followed closely by the Eviscerator and Locust. While I love the Viper just got the (medal for it) I would rather the mantis to it 9 out of 10

Tempest was my go-to SMG for a long time, I'm very fond of that still.

And I grew to appreciate the Vindicator thanks to ME3's single-player.

Phaeston was my go to assault rifle for the longest time, it needs a bit more damage. Just a teeny bit. Oh god I used it over the harrier any day and still beat gold and plat with it. I wish we could've gotten a super phaeston in the dlc

My favorite assault rifle in the game, I just started using the lancer and shotguns mostly now.

A Phaeston was in my first gift pack, but the Katana was my first love(that salarian infi - oh yes). After which the Phalanx got a lot of use as it was my best caster weapon for a long time, and the only chance of beating gold at first was with biotic teams until people started using decoy and tech powers on geth. It was only when I got my Justicar that I really appreciated the Mattock. I loved the Raptor too for headshot spamming bosses. Its Phalanx for me, as I took forever to level up my Mattock, and never knew how good it was.

I like a lot of the uncommon weapons and actually prefer using them to some of the Rare/UR stuff, regardless of efficacy. The Phaeston's more fun to use than things like the Revenant or Harrier, even if they're statistically more impressive weapons and I can score higher with them. I also quite enjoy the Phalanx, Vindicator, Mattock and Tempest.

I think this is part of the reason I like Silver more than Gold. Optimal weapon choices (and to an extent, powers and kits) narrow down on the higher settings because of the game's reliance on inflating enemy health/shield pools and their damage output.
