So, your Knight-Captain wants to go home after MoTB. I'm not terribly familiar with Faerun, but after consulting a map, wouldn't it be easier to take the Golden Way east to port and sail to the Sword Coast rather than walking back west? I ask because an awful lot of fanfiction has the KC trekking what looks like the distance from Taiwan to Paris, and that just seems unreasonable, in addition to taking about 10 years if she survives. I mean, yeah, my KC is pretty awesome, but she's no Marco Polo. This would take the KC through the unattractively named Endless Wastes and I have no idea what the lore is behind that region or what kind of scary monsters live there, but the road is there, and roads are good, in my experience.
So, yes? And maybe in addition to being a hero she can prove that the world is not shaped like a doughnut.
Silly travel question

because, you know, it's called role playing for a reason.

And now you have me wondering what the feminine variant of "Marco" is.kevL wrote...

I could be mis-remembering, and I know this is a non spoiler section... but I thought the KC did go back home, with a little help from friends in high places. And this wasn't fan fiction, but in game content.

I misread your post and thought you meant a gap in between the OC and MotB. If there was such a gap then that might be interesting enough to develop a campaign that fits betweeen the OC and MotB to explain it. But I see now you are talking about after MotB. At that point the KC is so powerful I don't think a trek home would be much of a bother.

I haven't played through MoTB in forever, so I don't remember. I just bought it from GOG a few weeks ago though and I should be done with MoTB in a few days. I don't remember it, but it's obviously possible. And I never played through SoZ or MoW so I don't know how those fit in.Dorateen wrote...

Well, it was very recently that I played MotB, and my character did indeed go home (I think I got the best possible ending, actually). However, I don't recall if it mentioned the route that I took. I haven't checked a map, but I'd probably take the boat, unless those Endless Wastes are too hostile.
SoZ doesn't involve the character from the OC and MotB (she or he is mentioned in absentia by other characters, though), and I think MoW is entirely separate.

Marcia?
Obviously it was an arduous journey getting back home after MotB, since one of my male characters was apparently as bald as a billiard ball by the time he arrived (if the generic silhouette in the slide show was any indication).
If the player chooses the good path and doesn't kill the founder, then surely she would just teleport him/her back in the same way she had him/her arrive?

I noticed that too. I think if I had made that scene, and wanted to make the main character "generic", I'd have added a helm rather than make him bald.

Perhaps they rehired 'generic human male' from NWN1?

I think Safiya likes bald guys. Tho' in my mind canon, the KC comes home with Kaelyn.
