So, you want to choose the Destroy ending, for whatever reason, but you don't want your Shepard to commit genocide? Well, of course you commit massive genocide on the reapers, but that's not what you Paragons are worried about, are you? It's the idea of commiting genocide on the geth that is unthinkanle. It's just not the Paragon thing to do.

Well, there is a way to get the Destroy ending without genocide. It's very simple really. Next time you're doing Rannoch, support the Quarians. Problem solved. Now you can enjoy your Destroy ending without having to commit genocide! :D

This awesome tip has been brought to you by Heretic_Hanar.

You're welcome. ;)

This is true and in my main playthrough, they are dead as the metal they are, with or without a soul. But I never trusted that Geth VI, so it wasn't too hard to kill it.

If we were to accept the fact that the Geth are a valid form of life just as any other, then we have to accept the fact that destroying the synthetic remnants of lost civilizations is not very Paragon.

I choose Destroy in my canon, but not because it is Paragon.

Geth are just machines, tools, nothing more.

Yeah, cause the Geth and EDI are totally alive and not machines or anything...

I know that. You don't need to tell me. Tell that to those Paragon kids who feel bad over frying a bunch of talking toasters so their Shepard can live and be with their waifu/hasubando.

in my original playthrough I couldnt get the geth to back down, even with Legion on my side.

I felt really bad.

but it made destroy easier, have to admit.

Legion agrees with Renegade Shep that the Geth aren't like organics or any other species

Legion was proof that they're just machines who desire to be something more but never can be.

Except that you- oh to hell with it. You all can go kill the only group that actually believed the Reapers were coming and to a unit wanted to oppose the "Old Machines". Me? I'm going to feel a bit like a giant jerk. Oh wait, I die anyway because Destroy was directed by Micheal Bay where everything needs to explode to work and I die. Fan-tas-tic.

I've already thrown an asteroid into a mass relay killing hundreds of thousands of lives....I felt more bad about that than I did the geth. Still didn't WANT to get rid of them though. My shep also has a neutral opinion when it comes to geth and the matter of souls but couldn't express it in ME3 I had to choose between "The reaper code made them beautiful!" or "They're just a bunch of goddamn MACHINES!" When I really wanted to say "I trust legion and I want the geth to co-exist with the other races but I don't compare organic life to them because they are not the same"

The most funny is when people chose destroy because they hope to survive.

Exactly, they are just machines and therefore can just be built again if it is such a travesty.

Supporting the Quarrians war against the Geth is hardly paragon either.

Well since it's been estabilished that AI = actual intelligence, i can't but feel pity for those genuinely convinced that the Geth aren't a form of sentient life.

Johnny 5 is alive. To think otherwise means you're just limited.

Besides, the solution for not committing genocide is committing genocide?

Spam thread.

The Quarians built them as tools but they became more than that; thats the point.

Paragon, renegade, meh - just play it down the middle.

Blasted 300,000 Batarians without batting an eyelid, sided with the Quarians on Rannoch and personally put three rounds into Legion's head, again, no problem. Went with destroy, bye bye EDI, sorry, but you know, whole galaxy vs you, yeah you lost. High EMS, survived and didn't feel bad about it.

Win.

Wow, I never thought that avoiding mass genocide at the end of the game would be so easy. I just have to do it before the end. Gee, who would've thought that.

There's still EDI's off-screen demise, terrible constructed by the writers, or more specifically retarded whatshisname.
