So I posted the following over on the modding thread but did not get a response.

Right, I'm fed up of Ashley's stupid appearance in ME3 and a few other things. Could someone please tell me how to:
[*]Give her this as her casual uniform.
[*] Give her the bun back from ME1/2.[*] Change her Armoured appearance to something else.*
[*] Change Kaidens casual to the same and his armour to the Alliance Marine armour seen in game. Possibly do the same for James.
[*] Give Shepard the Alliance Marine armour as his default starting armour.
[*] Swap the Avenger for the Lancer as the default Assault rifle (and the Katana for the Scimitar for the Shotgun).[*] For that matter, change the starting weapons to work with the same mechanics as the Lancer.
[*] Change the guards at the War Room door/scanner to use the same casual as I want for Ashley or an armour* (or just generally any Marines not in armour).

* I want to give her/them a female version of the Alliance Marine Armour. Thanks in advance :D

However VinBron did message me regarding making a female version of the Alliance Marine Armour. They said that it would be difficult to do.

I do not believe that rest should be too hard, though changing the outfits for NPCs may be. The reason I as is because I don't know and really want to do this.

One last question. I've seen Mass Effect Explorer mentioned a lot. The impression I have gotten is that it may be/become a viable alternative to using texmod. Is that true?

Howdy there!
Here are some things you might want to know:

1. You should be able to use gibbed for that, look around the forum, there's some threads here and there (Use Google otherwise). Can't help so much when it comes to gibbed (barely used it myself).
As for giving her the Alliance armor:
Replacing meshes in ME3 is possible... But it's really so time consuming that it's unbelievable, it might be easier to retexture her default armor to look more like the Alliance armor...

2. There's someone working on giving her back her original hairstyle. Look through the pages here on the forum, it's here somewhere.

3. Again, probably use gibbed to change Ashley’s default armor.

4. Gibbed again for changing Kaidan/James armor.

5. Yep, probably use Gibbed editor here again.

6 and 7. Waaaaaay to much fiddly work for this. Some people might have gotten this to work, but none that I’ve seen, sorry.

And to answer your other question about Me3Explorer:
It does indeed work. There's already someone working on implementing all of the High-ress textures made by the community. Search for the user "saltisgood" thread here on this forum for more info.

Hope that answears some of your thoughts/questions.

I've been trying to figure out how to get Ashley in the same uniform Kaidan wears, it's unfortunately not working right now. (I imagine it would be the same for the armor you want her in).

You need to use ME3explorer and change her mesh, and replace the textures. Even though once this is done though, there are severe lighting bugs that make the end result unplayable.

You can read more about that on the ME3explorer forums, but right now changing her mesh isn't advisable as I said, the end result is not satisfactory in the slightest until someone fixes these lighting bugs, and unfortunately this issue appears to be quite difficult and time consuming, and I don't think there's going to be anyone with the skill to do this that's actually all that interested in the specific cases.

1) Refara's talked about this :)

2) OK.

3 & 4) Is it as simple as that? I would have thought it would involve changing meshes.

5) Problem is that I'm not sure how to. However, I found a blog about changing the default armour. All I now need to know is how do you even get it in the first place.

6 & 7) Are you sure? I was able to change the default shotgun in ME2 without too much bother, I also used a mod that made all the weapons work with cool downs (and with clips, it was a combo system).

Alliance Armour) Well I've not got a problem with the current armour, I would just prefer to give her the Alliance one.

Me3Explorer) Thanks, I'll have a look for them now.

Hirm, what happens if you change the lighting map texture to monochromatic?

Well thanks for the response. That's damned frustrating. Would we expect the same for Kaiden/James? What about changing Armour? Would that need to be done through a similar method?

Hopefully there will be a solution.
