okay, maybe it's just me being blind/retarded or whatever:
i got the key from dwyn, it opens exactly WHICH box?

If you finish the quest before doing the redcliff sequence, the sword will be in your inventory. Otherwise, it's in the chest in the room behind him.

yeah, only, there is no chest. well, there is one, but it doesn't seem to be useable -.- doesn't highlight with tab etc.

i reloaded a few times, but still, nothing...

argh, only one time i want to socialize with that grumpy b****, and now ARGH!

Are you sure it's not in your inventory? It would be towards the bottom as a gift, not with the weapons. That is what happened with me the one time the chest was not clickable.

Me too. When you talk to Dwyn it simply appears in your inventory - if you haven't done Redcliffe yet (the battle I mean).

nah, talked to dwarf and only got the "lockbox key". mh....

if you go to Lake Calenhad Docks before talk fern in Orzammar , you can't open chest dwyn in redcriff. you should be ask fern at first .and return to open the chest

Well, it could be a bug i suppose. I was sure I didn't have it too, the first time it happened to me. It's not in the weapons section, but in with potions and so on (just like all the other gifts).

Edit: In your inventory, I mean.
