 So in the Citedel DLC if Liara is the one that comes to help you in the first mission she makes a come t about likeing my outfit in a flirty kind of way.  But all I could think was "you like my Aliance blues?  The ones I have had on since Earth was hit?"

Your LI seems to say that no matter what you wear. Tali said the same thing about my Smuggler vest and I was wearing the same thing during our ME2 bedroom scene.


But got the line from non-romanced Liara too.

I put on femshep's miniskirt for that scene, its a little dressy for drinks with Joker but I headcanon that shes taking advantage of shoreleave to, as Joker himself says, live it up like a girly-girl

Heh, I wore my N7 hoodie on my first run playthrough and Kaidan had me a bit confused when he said the "nice outfit" line.

They weren't previously as wet and clingy because you hadn't fallen through a fish tank. 

At least, that's the best explanation I've heard.

Now that way the line starts to make sense. Romance or not, the outfit suddenly being remarkable was strange. I'll just take it this way from now on.

This. I have no problem with Liara coming to my rescue, but it was extremely unwelcome with my Thanemancer to be hit on by my supposed friend only a few days after my lover was killed. Especially, after I had turned down Liara's romance not once but twice.

I seem to remember a request on the forum that our LI acknowledge a relationship occasionally...this happened in the Citadel DLC...we're not complaining about BW giving us what we want are we?

As for mrufka_z's comment...it's just your Shepard's animal magnetism.

The real reason, is unfortunately, either laziness or that they didn't care. It's like why your Engineer pistol wielding Shepard seems to have the Avenger in every other cut scene. There is only one line for that scene, no matter who your LI is or isn't. I liked the DLC, but it is what it is.

I can handle friendly flirting - I loved flirting with Vega with a fem!Shep (my fem!Sheps are with Kaidan and Garrus, so neither of them takes Vega too seriously and it's in character for both of them to do so). 

But the thing with an unromanced Liara is just so...out of nowhere, especially if you've already locked in a different romance (Jack, Miranda) and have affirmed your friendship with Liara. You're all...tra-la-la my friend is coming to save my butt from being shot off by crazy mercs and hey wait a second is she hitting on me? As she hadn't spoken to that particular Shepard in that way since ME1 it was a bit jarring. I'll just read it as 'you're covered in fishy water' from now on. Heh.

I have no problem with Garrus telling my Garrusmancer that she looked hot in her N7 hoodie, or Kaidan telling my Kaidanmancer she looked hot too, or even if I had romanced Liara I wouldn't complain about her saying it either, but I didn't romance Liara and the person I did romance (Thane) had been killed in the previous mission (did the DLC with my Thanemancer right after the Citadel Coup). Liara flirting with Shepard in that case was not welcome.

A little recognition for us Liara lovers was nice, it sure beats the 'Ready for the NEXT MISSION! ambient we suffer through when everyone else seems to be loaded with ambient things to say.

If you're not romancing Liara what is wrong with a little friendly compliment?

I was wearing the N7 leather jacket outfit...and damn if I didn't look good. So I just took the comment in stride, regardless of who said it.

I don't think some people here have been complimented on their outfit before. Still doesn't explain the hyper sensitivity though.

I think its a bit much to ask Bioware to change the dialogue depending on when you play the DLC. I mean, you can also throw a party after the Geth have just wiped out the entire Quarian population or the crushing defeat on Thessia.

Liara likes your outfit, that's all. I don't see the problem.

That's odd. My Shepard was wearing the hoodie and Ash just said something like "You having a bad day?"

Edit:  huh, looks like she does say "Nice outfit"  musta missed it between her dramatic entrance and the gate opening gag

I think they went out of the way to make alot of the squad banter more fun and silly, which was really good. I think this was just an example of this.

I don't think it's what she says, but how she says it. A friendly compliment would have been fine, but when it sounds like a come on... yeah.
