I don't know about Liara, but romanced Garrus was definitely flirting. Afterwards he has to do an awkward pause to compose himself.

Oh Liara is flirting with a romanced Shepard, but if you did not romance her, she is not flirting with you. The thing is this. Bioware needed a person who is always alive for that part. Vega is the replacement for Wrex so Vega is already busy, thus Bioware used Liara(why did they did not use EDI though is a very good question) and was too lazy to change that line. However if you did not romance her simply say it's not flirting. How many times has Shepard commented on someones look and not flirted? Or even real life when people comment ont heir friends?

But I will agree, this line should not have been there for nonromancers because it does cause threads like this and it just makes her one big flaw(being very clingy) even more balant.

I suspect most people would react differently in real life than they do the dialogue in the game.

I can't imagine anyone saying, "God! I hate it when really hot women flirt me! When will they ever stop?"

Unless Cortez is more their style of course. But otherwise...no, can't see that happening.

This actually happened in my Garrus playthrough. I never wear the N7 hoodie and on a lark decided to change into it to go have dinner with Joker, so it really was an outfit that Garrus had never seen before. lol

Eh, put me in the camp of 'it's not that she said it, it's how she said it'. I can see the humorous intention, but the inflection is the same as if she's your LI and the same inflection as any other LI.

At the end of the day though, it's such a minor thing in a DLC full of so much delightful cheese that it can be easily overlooked.

It is definitely flirtatious. Maybe it wasn't intended for non-romances, maybe the writers thought a bit of very mild flirtation from a friend made sense.

It was the only time in the game I found it appropriate to wear the N7 leather jacket casual outfit (I had always been loyal to my dress-down alliance blues), so it kind of worked there.

Eh, depends on which dress. The plastic mini? No way. I had mine in a tasteful civvie dress and headcanoned that she hasn't had a chance to get into one in years, so she figured she might as well take advantage. When's the next time she's going to have time for a 'French guy at the door' kind of place?

They really should have given FemShep a new dress for the DLC, one that doesn't look awful like the black one. Then that line would've made more sense.

It was a bit weird. I was just wearing the "canon" outfit. The one Liara shows you wearing in her vid for the future.

When I first did the Citadel DLC, at that point my Shepard was wearing her N7 Hoodie, My first Reaction to Liara saying that was like: "Oo-kay, That's... Odd, maybe Shep was supposed to have been wearing the formal dress"
In my mind it kinda made sense. I mean, If I'm going out to eat at the Swankiest French Sushi restaurant in the area (if such a thing existed), I certainly wouldn't go there wearing one of my Graphic Tees and Blue Jeans. Especially if I were Commander Shepard, Legendary Hero of the Alliance Navy.

Your LI seems to say that no matter what you wear. Tali said the same thing about my Smuggler vest and I was wearing the same thing during our ME2 bedroom scene.


But got the line from non-romanced Liara too.

Personaly I find that vest incredibly ugly  
But each to their own I guess. It's a good thing people are different or things would get incredibly boring.

I guess it was her revenge for the fact, that I didn't talk to her enough to "activate" her "special project" option. So she lost the only chance to actually come to Shep's cabin invited...

But I agree with something somoene said earlier - it's more they way she said it, that the words themselves.

Let me guess, you have never got a compliment in your life. Ding-ding-ding! Winner!

The way she said it is like how anyone would say a compliment. How it sounds flirty, I have no idea. In fact, with a Shepard (Male) the way she said it was so friend-zonish (Except the things she said after.)

Then again, she is a socially inept Archaeologist/nerd. But that was a friendly compliment, have you never heard a woman saying to another woman "You look beautiful in that dress!"? 

But from my Mr.Hyde side says that you are correct in someway. I have this theory that Liara does seem to have a crush on whatever Shepard you're playing.
