Right now with Saints 3 & 4's over the top silly stuff it has become its own kind of game.

Be glad Saints IV isn't gonna be like Saint 2 or 1. While I loved Saints 2, it also reminded me too much of GTA San Andreas.

I liked what they did with SR2, having the serious factor at a certain level and the silly/fun factor at a certain level
My biggest gripes towards SR3 was the game being shorter than SR2 ane them abandoning the Dex storyline

Where in Saints 2 did a Dex story line take place? Unless your talking about the DLC.

There is some trophy informations revealed that seem to suggest that Gat, not only will return, but also have loyalty missions, personal quests and a romance (Mass effect 2 anyone?) I wonder if these kind of missions will be avaliable for other homies too.
Yes. Shaundi, Gat, Ben King, Kenzie, Pierce, Asha and Matt will all have a romance, quests and a loyalty mission.

When you start the Julius mission and you listen to those tape recordings you learn that Dex was also responsible for your coma, which is why he tries to kill both of you
The DLC only shows Dex leaving to a new town, SR3 was originally gonna follow up on that regardless of the DLC

Speaking of bad recasts, that Shaundi recast was and still is one of the wackest things about the series. More so because the personality changed along with it.LiquidGrape wrote...

No Eliza or Tara Platt? This game became inferior to the previous games real fast.TheChris92 wrote...
* POTENTIAL SPOILERS*
Most of the voices have been revealed here.
The list does include certain characters, which could be considered a spoiler so proceed wih caution. Eliza Dushku won't be reprising Old Shaundi it seems, and Tara Platt + the Hispanic girl won't be returning. Although it does include Neil Patrick Harris = Awesome!
Bailey's performance was by far the least inspired out of the female voice sets in SR3. Very disappointed hers is the only one to make a return. As it is, I'm going to abstain from getting the game at all, seeing as they removed Rebecca Sanabria's latina. She's been a staple of the series since SR2, and to do away with her now is to me the equivalent of recasting Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 3.

That might be true but replacing all the "dramatic" moments like Aisha's death or that Carlos scene with "LOL so random dick jokes" is hardly an improvment (for me).Milan92 wrote...

While 4 sounds like an improvment over 3 I'm still sceptical.

I'd actually prefer if Saints Row IV was going to be like Saints Row 2. I said it before but that game had a great balance of serious and silly, and did more than enough to noticeably differentiate itself from that other open world series.Milan92 wrote...

Except Jennifer Hale would never leave a series like Rebecca did...

Maybe thats because nobody except for Gat died in Saints 3? Or did you want them to kill of more characters so that we can have dramatic scenes?
I get what your saying, I really liked the way they did Carlos's and Aisha's dead, but creating drama simply for the sake of having drama is just silly.

Keep in mind it is mostly speculation but has some interesting links between SR3 & SR4 explaining a possible survival.
Also there is a new website up
www.saintsgov.com/
Gives a nice overview of stuff in game such as weapons, characters and other things to expect.
You can even "Vote" for policy changes in America such as electing Professor Genki to become the new UN Ambassador and electing to change the national bird from the Bald Eagle to The Middle Finger.
