I'm all for a Saints Row 5 with time travel.

I'd be extremely disappointed if, having opened this door to potential sequels, they chose to forgo it.

Plus all the possibilities for homies from historical figures.

Even without Time Travel, Amelia Earhart would make a great homie due to the nature of her dissappearance, it fits with Zinyaks's methods and the secret ending perfectly.

If memory serves me thats already a Star Trek Voyager episode...

Saints Row could totally do it better though B)

Since The Escapist still hasn't gotten around to posting their SR4 panel with Steve Jaros, I lost my patience and googled it. :P Fortunately GamersNexus uploaded their own recording. The camera is a bit shaky and unfocused compared to what I remember of Expo's live feed; and there's times when you don't get a good view of the images behind Jaros. Buuut, at least you can hear him talk. XD It's definitely worth a listen if you missed it before, love SR, and want to learn a bit about the reasoning behind certain game design and narrative decisions.

I guess this Gamerant site was slow on the uptake. XD The achievement list has been on Steam for nearly a week now. There was a 600+ MB SR4 download earlier today which I'm guessing is Enter the Dominatrix. I got my season pass prior to SR4's release, so if that sucker's out at midnight I'll be playing then. :D

Alas, I won't be surprised if it's held back until 1PM EST or so tomorrow when Valve updates their store page.

I kinda hope "defeating" her means surviving a BDSM session with her.

More than likely this is what will happen.

I mean, with the last BL2 dlc (which is a steamworks game btw), I actually bought the dlc from another site (to get a steam code... :?) because Steam wouldn't update their damn store.

Steam plz

Considering this is SR4, it's altogether possible.

"on PC it's currently planned for 2AM pacific on the 23rd, worldwide."

Need to scroll up to see the quoted text. Not that I left anything out. So... not until early tomorrow morning in my time zone. Only console players are getting it today.

Well, it would've been nice if they had let every gaming news outlet know before the 22nd.

I'm not reading a whole lot of positive feedback on this DLC. I've read claims saying ETD clocks in at around 1-2 hours. Has anyone played it yet?

Ya I just played it.  I finished it in about an hour.  It was pretty funny as it had a mix of missions from the original expansion but mixed with Actor Commentary style remarks from the characters during the missions.

They get around the length by saying most of the other quests were just boring fetch/retrieve missions followed by 4 back to back escort missions that were extremely boring and a 7 minute QTE mission to build the space ship.

Cut scenes are also handled as story boards to go with the "cut content" feel they are going for, and they do bring back weapons and some homies from SR3.

I will say it did feel longer then a story DLC from SR3, thuogh one mission was a direct rip from a SR3 mission..... thankfully Zach and Bobby gave good monologue during it.

I'm reading mixed reviews from people who are neutral toward SR and raves from most diehard fans, so I think I'll enjoy it. It's five missions long, so on the whole not very substantial. Of course, when has DLC in this franchise ever been substantial? XD The estimate I've most seen is an hour tops.

It sounds a lot more like a fanservice laden comedy DLC than anything that will redefine the franchise.

Unfortunately I can't play it until my friend logs in. We planned to co-op through it.

Ya this DLC is strickly out of continuity as it is just a tongue in cheek parody with the characters treating it like they were actors looking back on alternate movie takes.

Well, just finished it. Gotta say it was pretty damn good. It took me longer than an hour since I went achievement hunting along the way and had to restart the race several times. Totally worth it, though. The "Stag Film" finale to SR3 was what I hoped would be the canonical ending of that game. I thought a role reversal with the Saints running Steelport and having to contend with crime could have been interesting. So seeing a "what if?" scenario loosely based off that ending was pretty cool.

Hilarious DLC all in all. I especially loved the post final battle ride and subsequent cut scene. Can't believe they sprung for that song! XD Almost died when they started singing. (Yes, I'm being intentionally vague to avoid spoilers.)

My only serious quibble is I wish we had more time without superpowers. They make everything way too easy. One thing I especially miss in SR4, and that this DLC made painfully evident, is how sprinting removes any reason to use vehicles. Having to drive around again was really fun. Made me miss SR3. XD

On a side note, minigun is crazy OP. That's going to make certain earlier missions much easier on replays of SR4. XD

There's a Twitch livestream right now of Volition devs playing through EtD if anyone's interested.

Caught this just now when I swung by the SR site searching for videos on their new DLC. I kinda like this look for Shaundi. Specifically her hair, I mean.

Anyway, I'm glad my hopes for a sleigh vehicle were met. :) Totally going to use the hell out of that thing for the next month. :D Those Christmasy environments look sweet too. A shame it's only three missions. It'll probably be shorter than EtD, and we're not getting any more mission packs. :/

I'm not that sad that the end of the DLC is coming, I've always felt that Volition is better at making a great core experience (always have fun in these games).  DLC has always been spotty with many packs being very bite sized or things that you honestly don't even need, then they story based DLC always tends to be rather quick in terms of content with the content itself swinging between things we have already done or interesting ideas that could have been executed better.

I don't like talking bad about the team but it is the truth when it comes to DLC offerings.

True. SR3 had very uneven DLC. Some I liked and some was mediocre. None of it was outstanding. What makes me sad is this DLC doubles as a send off for these characters. Once it's done, it's done. All we'll have left are random clothing packs and such.

I'm still not conviced this will be the last we will see of these characters.  The extended ending of IV gives the feeling that they still have adventures ahead of them (being narrated by famous writers)

I'm pretty convinced it's at least the last we see of the Boss. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the supporting cast showed up in subsequent games, but I'm not expecting Volition to seriously pursue a time traveling plot. After all the trouble they went through painting SR4 as a finale filled with fan service, it'd be anticlimatic to keep going.

My guess is they'll reboot it or shift the story to a new character.

Maybe I'm gullible for taking Volition devs at their word.
