I wonder if they had kept this as an expansion for SR3, would they go back to their roots with Saints Row 4

God I hope not.

So you'd want them to continue what this dumb crap is than go back to how fun SR2 was? Image IPB

Yep SR3 was fun to play even more fun than SR2 and leagues more fun then any GTA game, if it went back it would be highly unlikely that I'd buy it.

So you are a fan of immature humor with sex jokes and dildos forcefully shoved down your throat every some odd minutes?

I am not judging you or anything, but I find Saints Row 3's humor is more crude and amateurish than anything else.

At this point I feel that Saints Row 4 doesn't even know what it wants to be anymore. First it felt more like a homage to the gangster-setting of San Andreas, with SR1 & 2, whereas a genuine story existed in number two. Now it's pumped itself with even more meta-humans and aliens. Does it want to be more like Protoype & inFamous now? Where you play a villainous caricature with all-mighty super powers.. Come to think of it - It's probably more like Prototype, given that they've thrown the plot out of the window in exchange for the crazyness. Plus the protagonist has always been a sociopath since the first game, to a degree of course.

I guess the devs saw SR as a potential parody of other games and decided to make it something bigger than just a GTA clone. Big mistake, imo.

This is like with M.Night Shamadingdong's movies - makes a masterpiece and then just goes downhill from there. Still, I doubt Deep Silver will bring the series to its roots with a remake, though.

Not every minute of everyday and not in every game or movie but yeah, its nice to be immature somtimes isn't life serious enough? But mostly I'm a fan of its fun gameplay, normally I don't like these open world sandbox game but SR3 is just so fun.

This video is a good breakdown of what's wrong with this series. I couldn't care less about the multiplayer and DLC gripes but changes to the story and customization features from SR1 - SR3 definitely leave me disappointed in this IP.

IT is well known this was originally going to be a stand-alone expansion to Saints Row the Third, then THQ cancelled that prject and moved the assets to SR4.  Despite this I have been hearing from people who have played the game hands on it is actually a lot of fun to play and in the end that is what really matters.

Have the game pre-oredered already.

It wasn't supposed to be free.  It was going to be a stand-alone expansion where you didn't need the main game to play it, you would still have to pay for it.

So it's still the same city but with aliens. I hope it's really worth $45.

I hope they do something more than the "every other level an infinite ammo rail shooter" thing the last one was, and it would be quite close to perfect.

I would recommend going here for information on the game

idolninja.com/index.php

This guy has been a modder for the PC versions of Saints Row starting with SR2 and has developed quite a reputation with the team at Volition were they have actually let him try test builds of the altest games and he just put up an impressions of SR4 (some bad things but a lot of good things).

Was watching an interview on the escapist

www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escapist-news-now/7512-Saints-Row-IV-E3-2013

The game overall will have more missions then SR3

Keith David will be playing as himself and he can get super puwers in game

Squad members you recruit will have loyalty missions that will make them more powerful, these can be optional

...... does this sound familiar?  (not making fun of it but it does)

Loyalty Missions? Talk of Romances? That one scene with The Boss & Keith in the trailer? Ya, sounds like they are taking some pages out of BioWare's book and giving it a satirical spin.

I played SR2 last year at the behest of a co-worker who swore by the game. After a couple of hours, found myself playing a character who was trying to cause as much property damage as possible to the downtown by spraying sewage everywhere. It was so absurd, I had to try 3 as well.Since 4 throws in a few playful pokes at Bioware, and promises that my character can finally get with Shaundi, I'm in.

Despite loving the darker tones of SR1+2, I enjoyed SR3 and it showed the writers had a ton of fun with everything in the game. Will I be snagging SR4? Possibly not on release but definitely one day.

But.. but.. they killed Keith David's character in SR2.. "Hey playa" "Julius?! Didn't I shot you in face?" "With things goin crazy screw the logic!" or "Hey you sound like an **** I shot a while ago." "Who? me? nah Mind playing tricks on you playa."

Also seeing King and old Shaundi brings a tear.

Too bad the series died with SR2 .
