War on Humanity trailer is weird.

Shaundi > Shaundi

Keith David in meh game is all I need to assure a purchase.

But.. but.. they killed Keith David's character in SR2.. "Hey playa" "Julius?! Didn't I shot you in face?" "With things goin crazy screw the logic!" or "Hey you sound like an **** I shot a while ago." "Who? me? nah Mind playing tricks on you playa."

Also seeing King and old Shaundi brings a tear.

He is playing himself this time, so Julius is still dead

Too bad the series died with SR2 .

Your opinion does not equal fact, many games make changes and try new things to keep the experience fresh or more unique to themselves.  It can make the experience jarring for some people but it can potentially bring in even more people to the franchise.  Al the more famous game series (with maybe one or two exceptions) do this in order to bring something fresh to the experience as not to make it appear that they are just remaking the same thing over and over.

It didn't died with SR2.
The problem that SR3 did is that it took jokes way to far and it was all about perversion and purple dildos. You want too make SR4 better?
Then make it more like SR2 with the actual story, memorable characters and CHOICES.

However judging by trailers and interviews they are taking the SR3 path and expanding it, which is bad.

So the game has affectively been banned from sale in Australia despite the new R18+ rating.  Saints Row 3 receieved M15+ rating when it was released and it had no alterations done to it compared to North America (I think the Japanese version had some slight censoring) so it makes you wonder if there is more mature content or the rating board was just beeing harsher on the game this time around.

So I just finished SR2 and enjoyed it immensely. Especially its extensive customisation and scope.
Is SR3 similar and should I perhaps buy SR4 later this year?

Get SR3 when it's on sale, and if you don't like it, you should skip SR4.

SR3 is so over the top it's impossible not to have a blast playing it. Pity the campaign is a bit on the short side.

Lol, so now video games are contraband in Australia? Good thing for smugglers that the PS4 and Xbone won't be region locked, right? ^_^

SR3 is basically SR2 with better graphics and the wacky level turned up to 11.

It looks like an extended DLC. I will pass, even though I enjoyed SR2 and 3 equally, just in different ways.

Well, the trailer for SR4 does promise old Shaundi back.

In a way. If Saints Row 5 toned down a bit of the crazy (this would definitely encompass some of the mission types of Saints Row 3), brought back the mission structure of Saints Row 2, the customization of Saints Row 2, took away some of the player skill customization that made Saints Row 3 a cakewalk, and kept the choices & consequences of Saints Row 3 I'd buy it. So I don't know if the SR3 approach is "bad" as much as it's just inferior.

Removal of various activities too -- The fun ones like Fuzz or Crowd Control. Activities are pretty much rendered a bit pointless in SR3. Less customization too - I find the lack of piercings, bowler hats (the option to wear them any way you want) disturbing.

Oh I know that's why I'll be likely purchasing it.

But I need to know more. Like I know the VA for the latina voice isnt coming back for female boss, but I will still get it if they replace the VA for another latina voice.

Otherwise I'm not sure.  But the prospect of being able to romance the old Shaundi is interesting, just don't know if I can do that without a voice similar to the SR2 one.

I swear that "Saints Row 4" was a slip up. Not that I have any reason to doubt that she is in Saints Row 4 again.
