Geth and EDI survive in Destroy, so it'll be a perfect ending.

@Armass

I'm very aware of that interpretation. I'm saying that the Chamber scene at face value fails to deliver any clear message about the intent of the Catalyst.

Oh yeah...

- EDI: Get rid of the bot. Not because it's stupid but simply for the sake of her storyline. Her storyline has more impact if she is a bodiless voice and just a hologram. It also says much more of her relationship with Joker. If we need big breasts and ass in a catsuit, we have Miranda.

Maybe make the story and immersive qualities be more interactive by providing defined lore and codexual entries that permits enjoyers to fully understand the questions posed. The game violently excludes many by promoting speculative science fiction rule over suspension of disbelief. Complication of facts to make an informed decision leads to chaos...as it were.

The idea that it's a constitutional guarantee your choice is canon de-frames the ethos, and the story devolves. imho

Instead of three endings, there would only be one. Synthesis.

Hardly rational considering EA has more influence over gameplay than they do over the writing.

- Romances: ME2 royally screwed ME3 in terms of romance. They went overboard. But that means it has to be followed up on. Balance them out. Expand Jacks and Mirandas. Ditch Diana Allers and Kelly Chambers potential for rekindling (not that hers matters...). And equal the sides out so that there are an equal number of romance options for FemShep and GayManShep as there are for LesFem and StraightManShep.

I'd mention the part of ME1 where it says the Reapers shut down the relays at the start of each invasion. Since the Reapers take control of the Citadel at one point in the ME3 story, it needs to be established why they can't reverse the prothean's hack of the keepers that prevents them from controlling the Citadel's relay function, and through it, the entire relay network. (This was detailed by Vigil.).

I also would have removed the mention that the Crucible was not of prothean design. Since the Crucible has to be connected to the Citadel, there's no way previous cycles would have started building it since they couldn't transport it to the citadel without active relays, except if they knew about the Reaper invasion in advance.

What would you change? For me, I'd change Thane's death to him surviving(ftw), always, if not most of the time, give Shepard a middle dialogue wheel, and have at least 15 endings(more if possible)

Hmmm ...

Rewriting Thessia plot
Besides everyone says it's fallen (it is not, otherwise Earth and Palaven are fallen too!) the original plot is far too short. I'd love to see a series of missions like for the Cure-plot or the one about ending the war between Geth and Quarians. I -really- want to see more missions here.

Rewriting Earth plot (final assault)
Adding Mercenary fleets to the stuff and, of course, you can see all your squadmates (even those from ME2) in action. Full assault, lets show your war assets!
The entire plot needs more emotional impact and - well, Suicide-Mission like.

Rewriting the Endings
By replacing them with something more consistent to the rest of the game. Shepard still can fail horribly, the outcome can vary from "very sad ending" to "very happy ending" with several shades of grey. No stupid decision for "A, B or C" but depending on your war assets. The more you have, the closer you are to a good ending. However, the final touch is done while doing that priority mission: the better you perform, the better the outcome will be.

Romance plots
More scenes, more impact on the game itself. Must say, I hardly can imagine a solo!Shep that's not going insane. Shepard needs his/her LI to finish the job. And I'd love to display this.

Cerberus plot
Reduce their army to few special units which give a tough fight. Overall, Cerberus should remain a shady organization - even to a point its agents help you in one mission just to throw a dagger at you in the next one. Obviously Kai Leng becomes a real character and TIM - remains TIM. Just less insane. ;)

Overall, I think I have to rewrite 40 - 70% of the game's plot, depending on how deep those changes are.

Let Thane kill KL.

Thane dies.

And TIM can throw out my half-baked clone if he wants.

At least he was a fair challenge.

Give Shepard the option to recruit Miranda, Grunt, and Samara. "I can't join you because reasons" isn't good enough.

Change the endings.

Remove the Catalyst (or at least have the exposition come from something else).

Remove those f**king dreams. Bioware has already shown they an do PTSD decently (the asari veteran on the Citadel), why can they do it well for the protagonist?

Middle dialogue options. Case in point: When Liara asks Shepard if he or she is thinking about something. The only options you get to choose are "I miss Kaidan/Ashley" or "The people back on Earth". My Shepard would be more worried about how Miranda is doing.

Change the killing all life in the galaxy by synthetics to stop them being killed by synthetics (have something at least more logical like dark energy that was hinted in ME2)

There is nothing illogical about the Reaper's actions, so nothing can be "more logical" than it.

As far as the Crucible is concerned.  There is no other plot line that is not similarly a MacGuffin.  You go into ME3 having literally no idea how to stop the reapers.  Obviously the plot requires you to find a way.  That way is going to be a MacGuffin.

Rewrite ME 2 as a proper middle chaper of the trilogy, with parts of ME 3 right after that.

If the changes can only be made to ME 3 as it is now then:
- Add middle dialogue option in every instance.
- Remove the boy from the game and change Catalyst's apperance to that of Shepard.
- Change Kai Leng's scenes so they won't involve plot inducted stupidity in everyone.
- Make Grunt a permanent squadmate (with Biotic abilities!).
- Expand Geth Consensus mission, first part involving fighting to the server, second being the one we already have (but with some combat inside).
- Add Geth enemies to some missions with Reapers.
- Make Miranda's death in Sanctuary unavoidable.
- Expand Priority: Earth with cutscenes and NPCs helping in fighting (based on EMS).
- In the beam run, Cortez would be the one to evacuate squadmates and Anderson would help Shepard get them both to the beam after Shep is blasted and seconds before Harbinger destroys the conduit.
- Turn Citadel: The Return into a full mission with Anderson as squadmate and some of Shepard's abilities disabled due to wounds.
- Turn Synthesis into Catalyst's main goal and the reason it started the cycles in the first place, but still being able to choose it.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

(1) I'd have asked other writers who wrote drama ungrounded in in-world logic to find some ground.
(2) I'd have foreshadowed Synthesis as a viable option better.
(3) I'd have removed the vent kid from the game and given the Catalyst a different from.
(4) I'd have removed the dreams or made them about people you really lost, and made their content dependent on your Paragon/Renegade score.
(5) I'd have replaced the autodialogue in about a dozen scenes with a dialogue wheel and given the players control over their responses.
(6) I'd have Miranda's story arc extend to Cronos Station and have it touch the other two important topics in her story which ME3's version ignored. Also, I'd have completely removed the "normal life" theme from her story arc and made it about her ideals that drove her to Cerberus instead.
(7) I'd have replaced all suggestions of mysticism with reasonable science-fictional rationalization.
(8) I'd have made curing the genophage turn out badly in the epilogue. No exceptions.
(9) I'd have rewritten Destroy to destroy the relays completely but keep the synthetics alive.
(10) I'd have rewritten Synthesis to have Shepard survive and become its avatar instead of forcing the change on the whole galaxy. Also, I'd have added a low-EMS variant of Synthesis that turns out badly.
(11) I'd have rewritten the ending exposition to be found by Shepard while exploring, with the Catalyst encounter confirming it instead of being the only source.

This is not nearly everything, but it's a start.

Dito.

I would also rewrite Thessia and Sanctuary. Also a way to gain the Cerberus resources (Miranda taking the direction of Cerberus after taking Cronos).

First and foremost Mass Effect would be 4 games, as it should have, not 3. The third game below is about shep and the after math of arrival- clearing his/her name and building alliances, and dealing with Cerberus. The 4th and final game will be completely devoted to the reaper war/and or TIM/Cerberus.

I would have changed the ending. Going with the IT- making choice truly matter. Nuff said. But first lets do ME3.

Again this story requires a perfect canon playthrough of ME2 with all survivors. If not then other characters- like vega or whoever would be substitued in. If Lawson and Jacob are both dead then Brooks will be the contact for Shep about cerberus. Again, this is a rough draft- so bear with me, lol.

I would have had Shepard on trial at the begining for his alliance with Cerberus and the events of Arrival DLC- and court marshaled and sentence to the brig. The first 3 or 4 hours of the game would be Shepard having to survive prison life- think of purgatory but even worse, more like prisons down in Mexico ( that operate like their own city), during Shep's time in prison he meets a few friends- Garrus and none other than Zaeed. These 3 awesome bad mofos team up and draw up an elaborate plan to break out and 'get back in the fight'. They fight there way out and 'commandeer' a shuttle.

Shepard try's to find out about 3 things:

How did the court-Marshall get staged- Shep believes (based on EDI's convoy in ME2, after suicide mission) that Cerberus is indoctrinated and their alliance mole stage the rigged the court marshal. Shepard now believes that the events of 'arrival DLC' was a setup. He's concered about Hackett's allegiance. But he does have one mad he can trust, Anderson.

What happend to the Normandy. Retrieving the normandy is top priority for shep, garrus and zaeed. Anderson get's in touch with shep- and tells him that one Kasumi goto may be able to help with 're-acquiring' the Normandy. They meet Kasumi on Omega- who say's she might know of a certain woman who can help. Aria.

Getting Aria's help will require Shepard to do 3 'loyalty like missions' for her. With Arias help, Shep and crew assault the alliance compound where the normandy is being held. There's a big huge battle. Epic. The VS is at the compound and tries to stop Shep- violently. But shep gets the best of VS and escapes with the normandy intact.

However, during the assault Aria is separated from her minions of Omega and is forced to be aboard the Normandy with Shep. Now Shep with Garrus, Zaeed, Kasumi and Aria now have a fighting chance to clear his/her name. But he Shep must discover and expose the Cerberus mole to the alliance.

Sheps first thought is to find out where Joker and EDI are. Then find Miranda Lawson if survived or Jacob taylor if survived. If both are dead then Brooks will replace them.

Shep locates Joker who like shep has been imprisoned. Shep and crew break Joker out of prison. Joker tells that EDI and Legion where takin' by the alliance to a top secret facility located beneath London. Shep realizes that they cannot get EDI and Legion yet, Shep then focuses his attention to Cerberus, the mole and TIM. Find Miri and/or Jacob or Brooks is incredibly difficult. It requires visits to tuchanka. Quairan Fleet. And finally Illium- being in Asari Space Illium is protected by the council and shep will need help getting to Miri/Jacob/Brooks as they are being held buy an elite asari commando unit.

Enter the Shadow Broker/Liara.

With the brokers/Liar's help shep and crew assault the comandos and retrieve Miranda and Jacob or Brooks. Or whoever survived ME2.

You ask Liara to join your crew but again she states that the Shadow Broker is needed for you more than ever.

But miri and/or jacob or brooks gladly joins up and tell Shepard everything they know the TIM- addmitting that they held back info from Shep in ME2. Shep, albeit angry and dissapointing understands why they did this, now with the info of Where TIM is and who the mole possibly could be Shep contiues to search for TIM, the mole and Cerberus HQ.

Various trips to places like Eden Prime, Horizon, Ilos, Palavan turn up nothing. However, you do find more about the reapers and connection with TIM and cerberus as well as narrowing down who the mole is. Shepard's intiution about Hackett seems to be starting to crystallize. But it's still not enough. Also, along the way you Pick up Tali who as been on the run from not only the alliance and spectres but cerberus troops. Why? She knows the location of TIM.

Shepard knows that now more than ever is the time to reach Anderson and set up breaking EDI and Legion out of London. Anderson give's shep the clearance and know how of breaking EDI and Legion out of underground London complex.

Shep needs Legion and EDI because if you gave TIM the collector base then you must go through the omega 4 relay. If you destroy the collector base then TIM is at cronos but is heavily protected by alliance and cerberus ships and dreadnoughts. Advanced cyber warfare will be needed and Legion and EDI can 'buff' the normandy. If Legion is dead then obviously it's just EDI.

You break Legion and EDI out and learn that Cerberus is in fact an alliance ultra black ops unit, that has been looking for way's to prepare and fight the reapers by any means unnecessary. You give Anderson the info but you get no response. You latter learn that Anderson has been arrested. You now have to choices Attack Cerbers HQ or break Anderson out. You cannot do both. If you do not Break Anderson out- he dies. but if you go for Anderson Cerberus moves their HQ to unknown locale. You still have enough info on Cerberus to perhaps clear you name (perhaps) but it's stll sketchy. Breaking Anderson out or attacking Cerberus does tell you who the 'moles' are in the alliance- Hackett and Udina. But will dramatically impact the events of ME4. The choice is up to you. TIM is not captured or killed. He's still out there. As are the reapers.

After your decesion you clear your name and have the moles arrested. Now you must begin building alliances. Legion tells you that the Geth and Quarian are about to got to war. And intervention is necessary. In ME3 the geth and Quarian conflict is resolved. All seems well for Shep. Until the reapers arrive and Attack Earth. End of ME3.

ME4 is much like the real ME3. Building alliances- but also wrapping up the TIM and/or cerberus story arc. As well as going to dark space. Fighting Harby- twice. And retaking Earth.

A little goofy and cheezy but I think it would be fun.

I'd give Kai Leng a stronger personality; more scenes with your ME2-LI; more Endings; more answering-possibilities; (the possibilities to get some nice tatoos; being able to customize the armor and casual wear even more)....

Id make James Vega romancable, Grunt a companion, Kai Leng a better enemy and Id make high EMS destroy, Shepard definitely lives, it doesn't kill EDI and the Geth and reunion scene. There my perfect ME3 game...

The removal of the middle dialogue option isn't the fault of the writers. It's because dialogue requires animation, and they only have so many animators who can do so much work in so many hours.

God, are some of these ideas horrible.
