Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but this is the only forum I  visit, so here it is anyway. My brother in law had this photo taken of himself by a friend while visiting his house. The image can be found here (might have to zoom in a bit)



In the bottom left, there is a suprisingly clear hooded figure, where there was in fact no one. He thinks its a ghost, and  is extremely distrubed and frightened by it, and is scared he is being stalked by it.

To me it is clearly edited. The position of the figure seems wrong in comparison to him, and the image is amazingly clear for a phone's camera. There are also several apps to add ghosts to images on phones, but he isn't convinced as his friend apparently pointed the picture out almost immediately after taking it. He also had a friend die a year ago to the day, nearby to where the picture was taken, only adding to his paranoia.

I hoped I could get someone here familiar with photo manipulation (unlike me) to give him a second opinion and help reassure him that all is well. Anyones perspective would be appreciated though.

Exactly what I told him. But he's really convinced.

Strange, to me though, it seems edited, he's much smaller and if ghosts are real, wouldn't they not turn up on camera?

What in the hell is a Photoshop of Palpatine doing on that couch?  And it IS him, I've seen that image of him often enough.

See, I googled images of Altair to se if i I could find one that someone had just dumped there. Gonna have a look for Palpatine now. Only thing is, I've been told the picture was shown back to him in a matter of seconds.

He does smoke, so its certainly a possibility. As to wether he was at the time, I would have to ask him when he finishes work.

Keep the scepticism rolling guys.
I just want to calm him down a bit.

Thanks!  Also, after some trawling through various palpatine images...



It seems likely that it actually IS the emperor. If you look closely at them both, the nose, the familiar fold in the hood of the cloak, and the divide at the center...  You can just make out these features on the supposed ghost, and to me they all remsemble each other. Anyone else seeing this?

 Great. If this is the case, now there's the even bigger mystery on how someone was able to modify an image (to include Emperoror Palpatine of all people) using only a phone for a couple of minutes, tops. And then to be enough of an ass to try and trick somone like this by using a persons death as leverage? <_<

Ah, whatever. This should be enough to convince him that it ain't legit. Another case solved by the BSN! (Hopefully) Thanks for all the help from you guys!

EDIT: Yeah, it does hold many similarities to Palpatine.
