So, I just tested both weapons on a Destroyer.

Extended Clip.
HVB
AR amp V
AR rail amp III
Incendiary ammo IV

I'l already have the times, however I'll post them once the video is uploaded to yt.

My spitfire is only at 1 while my typhoon is at 8. On the GTS it feels fine, except for the movement speed penalty.

I just tried Annomander's setup in a gold solo and I have to agree with him, the spitfire was surprisingly awesome. However using the gun pretty much necessitates using an adrenaline mod too, otherwise the movement speed penalty is dreadful. Obviously this means you can't use a cyclonic so the geth trooper was less tanky than I like.

A small damage buff might still be in order but the movement speed penalty has to go, or at least be significantly reduced.

I like the Spitfire for that " GET SOME" feel. Typhoon just lacks the stamina.

Spend many, many, many credits. That's about it. I have a Black widow X yet my Saber is languishing on III, my lowest UR apart from the newest ones. Random store is random unfortunately.

Challenging Feneckus? Never a good idea. Feneckus will bring his favourite volus and wipe the floor with you. Feneckus is the type of guy who triples the score of TGI + harrier X players... you don't wanna mess with the Frenchman

As for your crazy ideas about the typhoon....

The typhoon has a DAMAGE BONUS versus armour, not piercing. Those are 2 different things.

Due to the nature of the multiplicative damage bonus and how it is applied in the formula, using a typhoon with 0 weakening and 0 AP, effectively means you lose 50 damage per shot versus gld level armour BEFORE the multiplicative modifier....

So, that 1.5x damage bonus against armour you're waxing lyrical about? Adjusts the total damage after the DR is applied, meaning the armour DR is modified too...

Ergo, with 0 weakening and 0 piercing your typhoon (with mag, barrel and incendiary IV; I think were the mods you suggested?) will be losing a total of 75 damage per shot versus armour.

The spitfire will do much worse in comparison to a less shield/barrier heavy enemy. Take it against reapers, who are HEAVILY armor dependent, and the typhoon outshines the spitfire easily, in pretty much every way. Played a game with star the other day, used your setup, GT flamerless, spitfire X with AP4, AR3, and Stronghold (needed for lolgoons, Cerberus) vs a phaeston Tursol. With AP3. guess who won? And neither of us are bad players.  Right now, the spitfire is easily one of the heaviest weapons in the game, at a 2.5, It deals less damage in pretty much every regard compared to the typhoon, and slows the user down to such a degree that you are essentially FORCED to carry ANY secondary weapon in order to switch to it to negate the movement penalty..............Combined with the fact that EVERY other UR AR is markedly better makes this a true geth gun. The only setup where it even becomes slightly useful is on the GT or possibly GI, and even then, there are way way too many other weapons, many of lower tiers, that do its job so much better. This gun was arguably designed for boss killing on unarmored bosses, due to its high shield/barrier bonuses, but none of the boss units lack armor, which makes it redundant compared to the phoon, and unlike the spitfire, the phoon can be used on multiple classes and made to shine, and even on the maxed efficiency builds built around the spitfire, the phoon does it better.


Long story short,
While the spitfire is NOT unusable, there is NO reason to EVER take it over too many alternatives. Kinda like the shuriken but that's a slight exaggeration.

Cerberus, or even arguably collectors.
I literally CANNOT melt the LOLgoon death squad fast enough due to BS spawns with a spitfire, A phoon easily could, or a PPR, or my Lancer, or a saber, or the Haxierr. Against Geth, it might be more useful, mainly due to the ginormous amounts of shields.

Tell me how much is the piercing of Typhoon, in case you don't know or remember it it is 25cm, the same piercing the Black Widow has and that my friend is useless :P.

If you don't put piercing on Typhoon and instead of that you put Incendiar ammo, you are wasting all the potential of the weapon.

I'd rather see a comparison using EB + AP IV (mainly because you used a really horrible combo with the Typhoon), but not too shabby on the Spitfire's part.

That's because Incendiary Ammo is total **** against shields. As evidenced by the video (compare how slow they drop with typhoon in comparison to armor). On Destroyer with HVB you will kill atlas much faster with Disruptor ammo.

Yep.  The only time there was for DOT was the reload when there were still shields up....  There was no potential time for DOT with Spitfire.

Also Typhoon had reload time of around 1second in there.
