It is set in 1912 and centers around the floating city of Columbia where two vicious factions engage in a civil war. The main character, Booker Dewitt is tasked with finding Elizabeth, a girl who can see and open "tears" that exist in the fabric of time, using them to summon objects such as weapons, ammunition or parts of the scenery from a parallel universe. Different than in previous games, the citizens won't attack the player on sight unless provoked.

The player will be able to travel around the city via railways, using a grappling hook. There will also be a bunch of superpowers called vigors. Only 2 weapons can be carried at one time, though.

There will be no multiplayer or co-op. Levine said that Inifinite will bring a very dark and gritty story, full of violence and racism. He claims the ending will be "absolutely different to anything you've seen in a video game". Sounds rather bombastic, but we'll see.

It launches on 26th March, which isn't a very long wait. So, what do you think? Are you looking forward to it or just gonna pass? Comment below!

There is a thread about this, sort of - but not really an organized original post, mostly started off a trailer, haha -

Looking forward to playing this. Tomb Raider was great, Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate was okay, God of War: Ascension was meh, and I'm guessing Walking Dead & Gears of War: Judgement won't be good. Infinite is the only title I'm looking forward too in the next few months.

You didn't like Walking Dead?  :(

I have God of War: Ascension, yet to play it though.  Anyway, I'm really excited for Infinite.

Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is out this coming Tuesday. I'm talking new releases for this month. It's based of the show, where as the Telltale point-n-click adventure was based off of the comic.
Edit: And I loved the Telltale one, very gritty and depressing.

I was reading an interview with Ken Levine, I think it was in PC Gamer. It was basically just another love fest between journalist and developer but there was a little blurb from the Lead Animator and that's what I found interesting.

He mentions going back and playing previous titles and noticing that NPC are separated from the player, either by a glass divider, a door, etc, when communicating with player. This was done to keep the player from shooting the NPC in the face when said NPC is giving information to the player, and how in Infinite they are moving away from this method.

All and all I found it interesting, and I plan on shooting Elizabeth in the face as soon as we meet her. You know just to see what happens.

Brooker probably raises his gun up whenever you point it at Elizabeth.

Edit:

Oh and that Walking Dead FPS game? God, that looks terrible! Hopefully most people are wise enough to see it's just an attempt to cash in on the franchise and avoid it like the plague. Seriously how can developers release **** like that on consoles in this generation and get away with it?

Yup. Or she'll be just be invincible and just say things like "stop it". Still, I like how this game will be much gorier than the first two.

T minus 10 days. Bioshock Infinite and Dark Souls II are the only games I'm looking forward to for now.

And I will definitely be shooting Elizabeth ASAP and provoke any and all residents of Columbia

Wow. Did I dance with a random scarecrow or something?

I guess it's a good thing Metro: Last Light isn't out until May, otherwise I would have struggled to find the money to buy this. I'm getting excited for this even though I probably shouldn't.

Please don't mention what-ever-the-hell-that-thing-is in the same time span as Telltale's game.

This is probably the only FPS I will buy on day one. Seriously, the more I watch these trailers the more excited I get. I loved BioShock one and two, but I'm a huge sucker for NPC relationships (Lee and Clementine, for example.)

Yeah, I'm really excited for this game; I've even been replaying the original Bioshock to build up my anticipation.

Well, I didn't really like Bioshock or Bioshock 2.

The game play just got too repetitive, but I had a fairly high expectation from Infinite so I pre-ordered it anyway. I hope it doesn't suck.

Did you at least enjoy the stories both told?  I loved each for the story and those little journals that gave more background and atmosphere to the whole series, especially number 2.

I'll probably do the same as soon as I polish off my hardcore run through Vegas. I adore the first game.

I enjoyed the first one a lot but the second one disappointed me, especially the writing. Infinite looks like it will deliver.

Yeah, the sequel's pretty damn bad. I only felt that Lamb was a better antagonist than Ryan.

I kind of wanted to be able to side with Lamb; I actually agreed with a lot of the things she said.

But yeah, the original was much better than the sequal. That was hardly a shock, though, since it was made by a different team.

I'm unsure about this game, the colour palette and the tone of it just does not sound serious and the wackiness of Colombia itself.
