So between 10 and 18 hours depending on whether or not I explore everywhere? Hmm..it reminds me of the play time disparity players had for Ratchet and Clank, I always end up at the lowest possible playtime, since I don't explore every nook and cranny. 10 hours it is. Does Inifnite have branching storylines or just one? Because tbh the only games with linear stories I have ever managed to replay are the Ratchet and Clank games.

I don't think there's more than one ending. I mean, there certainly could be because they have plenty of doors around (haha, get it?), but it looks like they want players to arrive at the same ending.

I do not believe most of you will find 1999 mode difficult. Yes, you will probably die a few times, but you get revived every time since money is in every corner of Columbia. I have died few times since starting and I have yet to dent the constant flow of money. Resources are just as easy if not easier to find in Columbia than in Rapture, so I doubt most veteran gamers will ever come close to losing the game.

If you want a game with zero interruptions though, the usual recommendation to play on casual/easy is the best approach.

Ooh, sounds like a challenge I want to accept.

Okay, don't worry folks! I just searched the webz and pieced all the things together and when you do that then the ending in fact makes alot of sense.
I mostly recommend everyone who needs anwsers to go to the Bioshock.wiki page. Its all explained there. :)

Well, it seems I'll be playing this sooner than I expected...

I watched my husband play for a few hours last night, until he said he was "done". He was nauseous from the first person, and said he probably won't play again. Very sad! He got even sicker when I picked up his game, and played for a few hours. He ended up reading GameInformer, while I fought patriots, and a bunch of other stuff.

When I finally looked at the clock, it was 1 a.m. I could have stayed up all night playing that game! (I had just acquired the shock jockey, right before I signed off). I'm hoping there's a lot more, because I'm totally loving this game. Lara Croft has some serious competition.

So now I should probably start the game over on my XBL profile. *sigh*

Go for it.

And hey, did he not know that first person games had that effect on him before?

No, he knew, but he really wanted to play this, as he'd pushed himself to get through the first two. Some games are worse than others. He played Borderlands 1/2 co-op with me for a while, but those both made him sick, too. I think the Portal games were the worst ones for him to watch.

I guess I have a higher threshold for it than he does.

Come to think of it, I did end up taking over both of those games for him, too... Hmm.

Then I think he needs to accept first person games are never gonna be a thing he can get through.

For health reasons, at least. Getting sick over a game is never smart.

But damn, thats unfortunate.

Update-

My copy is no longer in Tennessee(WOO!) and is now in Logan Township, NJ.

Which means its in my current state, but not city. Frack.

Getting closer though...

So I hope I'll get the game tomorrow.

I think he's accepted that for the most part; I believe he does it to make me happy (in the case of co-op games I want to play). I am a mean person.

Well, he did pick up some pirate game while he was at GameStop, getting Infinite, so I think he'll be fine. Port Royale 3 or something. I dunno. Those games are usually pretty silly. To me, at least.

Patience, grasshopper, it will be here soon! Image IPB I think you'll find it worth the wait!

Can I say btw how hilarious I think it is that Booker is american, since his last name DeWitt is dutch

That isn't surprising to me. Hell my name is a combination that comes from several different countries and lineages, none of which are American, as I am.

So it makes perfect sense.

Yeah, we're kind of a melting pot over here, so we could be just about anything. I went from Czech to Irish by marriage, so you just never know. Hehe.

Yeah I guess. Its still funny to see Dutch names in games.

Hehehe, maybe Booker is secretly of Dutch origin! That would be so awesome!

Totally different subject, but I nearly squeed when I heard Astrid and Serana's (Skyrim - Cindy Robinson and Laura Bailey) voices in random NPC dialogue. My husband didn't believe me when I pointed them out.

Holy crap, it really is an all-star cast. Jennifer Hale, Greg Ellis and Robin Atkin Downes are in it too? /faints

Not so. Sometimes an ending can be confusing on first play, then a second play clarifies. Or someone catches something you don't, and then discussing it with them clears it up for you.

Discussing it with others to make sense of a complicated ending is perfectly fine.

What isn't fine is when an ending is so goddamn befuddling that no amount of discussion clarifies a damn thing, i.e. ME3.

That's true. Some of the best movies I've seen had...complicated endings that required discussion. If we leave the theater, and don't talk about the movie or the ending, it's not a great movie. But if two days later, we're still thinking and talking about it? That's outstanding.

So if we're all talking about the ending in a week (once we get past Prince's spoiler buffer) that's probably a good thing.

Sure a lot of talk about the ending of Infinite. This reminds me almost of ME3 spectacle around the internet. Come to think of it, this is also happening in March!

Joking aside, my first impression of the game has seriously impressed me. I knew that entering Columbia would be a marvel to behold, considering the praise people gave to it, but I never expected it to be so stunningly beautiful, even on the console. Everything from the visuals, setting, and the people had me in awe. The level of emotions I felt when I walked through the church in the very beginning of the game is indescribable.

I'm also impressed how very much alive Columbia feels. While it's true that the NPCs doesn't necessarily walk around that much--other than a selected few scripted ones--thanks to its many subtle scenes (music, interactions, events, etc) helps a lot in making the city look believable. And the visuals sure helps as well.

I always expected the gameplay to work smoothly and most of all be entertaining, though it still managed to be a lot more fun than I thought it out to be. But I think that goes a large part to the hitting and execution mechanic (boy it sure won't get old anytime soon). I'm also impressed by the amount of interaction the enemy AI has. I was amazed by how I was stuck on a rooftop with enemy AIs and was getting overwhelmed and then I shoot the roof window to escape and one of them shouted "He jumped inside the building" and tried to brake the door inside to get to me.That whole scene had me squeeing with glee! Though them often choosing to charge against me even with weapons is a bit dull, but at least it keeps the combat action packed.

Haven't met Elizabeth yet, but I'm seriously looking forward to the meeting. I bet I will have a hard time putting the game down when she is finally in my party.

Elizabeth is a great companion. You don't need to protect her and she helps you by finding resources. More games should take Bioshock's advice on that front.

Yup! She is also a companion you will really care about. She is not just another average follower.
