The Dark Tower SPOILERS, ahoy!

OdanUrr wrote...

I haven't read the Dark Tower series, would you care to elaborate?

Well, The Dark Tower saga is worthy of reading, ending nevertheless, so if you want to skip out Stephen King's self-proclaimed magnum opus, here it is in a nutshell:

The hero botched his quest, he failed it many times, but in a next reality he will finally get it right. The whole story told is the attempt screwed up the last time.

The Soundtrack to this game is sooo amazing!

I love Elizibeth's theme as well as the Will The Circle Be Unbroken!

This thread needs to rapidly get back on to Bioshock Infinite, so here.

He also used the last two books to get over his trauma, thanks to a near death experience in 1999 (oh no, another connection with BioShock Infinite!). He smashed the fourth wall down, grinded it to dust, drink it as a protein shake and pissed it into the wind.

That guy is weird. The last two parts took me more time to finish than to him to write.

But it is still one of my most unique reading experiences, so I bregrudgingly respect it.

How many plays do you think y'all will get out of it?

At least two. One playthrough simply to experience the story and game as a whole, and then one where I'll try to do a 100% playthrough where I explore every nook and corner for Voxophones and such. Probably do that in 1999 mode.

Yeah, one reason I stayed in the church far longer than I expected was simply to continue listening to the choir echoing in the hallways. It truly brought a sense of serenity in a place so alien.

Haha. If you're really dizzy and just want to get some semblance of order in your mind pertaining to what the **** happened in the story, read this

Well, last night, I started over on my XBL profile, and surpassed where I'd gotten the night before on my husband's (he had to stop, because he had Addai's Seasickness™).

Anyway, I got to Finkton, and remembered that I never did go back to open that first chest in Columbia. Rats. And I picked up a few new guns, but haven't used them yet.

I was just minding my business, walked past a certain point, and a turret started shooting at me, and everyone turned hostile. At that point, I realized I should be in bed, and quit without saving.

Hopefully I can start right inside that area, and continue poking around before walking right into a firefight. Image IPB

Well, to steer things away from the ending (you know how the mere mention of the word "spoiler" is a spoiler in itself; it creates the expectation of a plot twist), what do you guys think of the music? I'm really loving Lighter Than Air . Pple who played the game would surely know this. LP, i would recommend you do NOT listen to it, since you need to experience the full opening of the game within the game itself. Frankly, it might just bring tears.

What about favorite vigors/gears/weapons?
Myself, I'm partial to the bucking broncho/shock jockey combo. and the stormhat gear is absolutely ridiculous.

So.. i just completed Bioshock: Infinite! Gameplay wise it actually suprised me how fun it was. All the vigors really did impress me. The story might be one of the best i've expereienced and on max settings on PC the game look more than gorgeous! The music in the game is also very good.

Oh and i'm still trying to piece together what used to be my somewhat coherent mind. ^_^
Won't spoil anything though, heck i might need a few days just to wrap my head around it all.

Using classical music was a really nice touch, I spent too many minutes standing in the room where the twisted Pachelbel's Canon was playing.

Bursting into the hallway with a fully charged Devil's Kiss trap and unleashing a storm of hellfire from the Pepper-Mill as the canon kicks in alone worth the price of admission.

Nah, Peppermill's ammo runs out before you can say "Peppermill Minigun!!!". The handcannon on the other hand...

I used bucking bronco a lot for crowd control, then shock jockey+shotgun. I also spammed the one with the magnetic field and used undertow in air battles. My weapon combo throughout the game was pistol+shotgun. I didn't really mind about the gear.

I loved the music. I think the soundtrack is one of the best I have heard in a few years.

So, is it just me, or is it more lucrative to just wait for Elizabeth to toss you money, than it is to use Posession on a machine? Image IPB

Also, what do you guys usually use your points for - health, shields, or salt?

Strange, in this second attempt/playthrough, I'm finding WAY more clothing pieces. I must be a better scrounger than my husband was, since I was merely continuing his game the first time around.

P.S. The music transports you to a different space and time. I love it.

^ Wasn't that the way of the other BioShock games? I can't remember.
