much as i completely adore this game, you make excellent points, Roflbox. I also wonder if the news about the combat designer leaving midway thru development would have impacted the gameplay. there is definitely a lot of potential to do something truly radical not just with the narrative but rather the gameplay as welll.

Say what?

I'm a little lazy and probably not entirely capable of pulling out the source, but i'm 100% certain I've read about that. And apparently some other pple also left midway in development.

Yup, all things considered, and the stupendous amount of hype this game got, its a little surprising to see it do so well, critically at least.

I suppose suprising is one word to describe it. Let's hope they don't go back on their reviews.:P

Nah, i'm quite confident this won't be a ME3:D. Just check the fan reviews from Metacritic:D:D

Well, all things considered, it is, without a single doubt in my mind, the best game I've played this year, and probably the last. I mean, the moment of sheer awe as columbia in its full glory appears before my eyes, with the astounding violin playing in the background... don't recall any game in recent years that left me open-mouthed like that. just beautiful.

In fact, if we are talking about overall game graphics in the video game industry that takes into account both fidelity (technical quality) and aesthetics (artistic quality), this game simply has no equals right now. imo, of course.

Well, I'm a bit biased towards steampunk games. I blame this guy:

Can't blame you. I recall a review from RPGCodex referring to dishonored as a mix between Thief and Arcanum(which is an awful lot of steampunk).

I do agree that in terms of atmosphere, it will be the best of the year. It has no considerable competition besides GoW: Ascension in that department.

Just beat it. I loved how Elizabeth was constantly interacting with the environment. And the setting was excellent. I have a love for anything early 1900s or Noir, so this was right up my alley. There was quite a bit of steampunk of course, but it wasn't overly some IMO.

Now onto Gears of War: Judgement which I'm expecting to be horrendous. Then Army of Two: Devil's Cartel which should be okay.

^ My husband and I played GoW: Judgment on release in co-op, and beat it in two nights. They added a couple of strange elements that I find it's better to just ignore (earning stars, challenges to make each combat situation more difficult to earn more stars, yada yada yada). It was fun while it lasted, but it was not as good as previous titles. It's weird, because Gears to me was always like a second cousin of CoD, but with something of a plot and likeable characters. In this one, they really didn't try that hard to make you care about anyone. And the Onyx squads are incompetent... Anyway, enough about that, hehe, sorry.

Back to BSI...

I'm on my way to Comstock House, so I'm assuming the end is in sight (don't tell me!) And holy crap, DeWitt has a veritable closet of clothes he's hauling around with him. I can't believe how many pieces I've picked up.

I'm going to say it again. Handymen are scary.

I'm thinking I'll probably beat the game tonight. What a ride it's been. Image IPB

If things were making sense, my copy would've been moved from the last city it was in to mine yesterday, and would be out for delivery today. Thats usually how it goes judging by the last city it was in.

A friggin update would be nice.

This is inspiring me to create a 1912 steampunk city in the sky that drops mail down to the World precisely and on-time.

So I look up UPS Innovations(the peeps delivering my game) and apparently a TON of people say they're slow as snails.

So my new prediction is my original. April 1st.

No. The ending has not been spoiled to me, and everyone here has agreed to not talk spoilers in this thread until a week after the game releases which is ironically on April 2nd.

Which means after the 1st my ass is out of this thread till I can beat the crap out of 1999 mode.

Also, just to give people an idea of how slow UPS Innovations is-

They took 4 days to mail something 45 miles(just read that online).

Let that sink in for a while.

You could've just driven there and got it yourself in less than a day.:P

I seem to have come across some sort of a bug. During my playthrough I replayed an earlier chapter, but after I did that, The game hasn't apparently been able to save my progress. Everytime I stop playing and later on want to continue, I start at the exact same location, even when the games has multiplie times told me that the game has already 'Autosaved'.

Kidna of an annoyance. Since I can't continue in the game, b/c it will restart evertyime in the same spot, I think I must restart my playthrough. Not that big of a deal, I wasn't that far in, but still bugs me a little.

Fortunately I found a way to fix it. Simply deleting the last checkpoint and then replaying to the same point fixes it. Thank God!
