Ha, I'm just glad to help. I still have one code left for Industrial Revolution reward pack for PC if anybody wants it.

On my end, I started my 1999 playhrough and damn it is brutal in the beginning. It's already getting easier [except the Handymen], but I dread the final battle : (

Overall one of the best games I've ever played, if not the best.

Would you kindly give it to me?

I just started 1999 mode and then restarted it almost instantly because I missed the first Voxophone. I'm a genius. And what weapons are you using in 1999 mode? I would have thought long range would be the way to go, no?

I started the game on 99 mode, but haven't run into any enemies yet.

I'll probably regret it going forward. :(

I've just played through the game on 1999 mode (also bought nothing from any of the Dollar Bill vending machines).

Few tips:

Upgrade Shield and Vigor, do not spend infusions on Health until you max the other two.

Do not spend much on weapon upgrades - save the money for Vigor upgardes
I spent a couple hundred coins for the Pistol clip size upgrade, but that's it.
The reason for this is that you WILL run out of ammo no matter what. So spend your money on Vigor upgrades.
This makes sense when you're going for the Scavenger Hunt challenge.

Upgrade the fire bomb vigor as soon as possible
Together with Bronco, this combo is insane.
And upgraded Devil's Kiss will kill Motorized Patriots and Handymen rather easily.
This will be good enough for any encounter until you get the Charge vigor, which brings me to...

..Charge vigor.
This thing is Insane. Insane I mean.

Once you buy the Shield Restore + brief Invulnerability upgrade for it, nothing can stop you. (save for this, it's around 1600 coins iirc)

Certain boos fight in the graveyard and elsewhere (3x in total iirc)? Takes 4-5 charges in 1999 mode to kill her. Each encounter lasted less than 15 seconds. Seriously.

Same for the last fight - Charge is invaluable there.

Once you get Charge, make sure that you use melee gear when you can - e.g. Burning Halo etc.
It's just ridiculous.

Do not be afraid to Charge.

---

For weapons, I stuck with the basic Pistol for most of the game due to ammo efficiency, cheap upgrade and the fact that there's plenty of ammo for it around (most of the game anyway). For the second weapon I used whatever I got at the time - Sniper Rifle, Volley Gun, Hand Cannon, Machine Gun, Carabine..anything.

Done, check your PM.

I constantly switch weapons as there is no point in sticking to just two guns exclusively. It's clear to me that the game was designed in such a way as to provide you with just the right tools for each section - so for open areas you get sniper rifle tears, for closed ones you get shotgun and when heavy hitters are inbound there has to be a grenade laucher in vicinity. Once you get used to that and just be careful the game isn't that difficult. Until you meet the Handymen - sure, you stun him with crows, but guy has some crazy mobility and spams AoE attack. Not to mention that he generally isn't alone, which means you're being shot at from all directions [and on 1999 shield holds for 1-2 seconds].

One thing I noticed beyond that is that there is just less stuff everywhere. Less money, less food and drinks. I like it - makes me play the game very carefully and scrounge for resources if I'm low on health [I'm not using Dollar Bill]. I guess some might say that the shield still makes 1999 easy and yeah... it's like having a second health bar that regenerates.

But who knows, it still could be a thing, there is DLC on the way.

Unfortunately, probably not.

Ken Levine @IGLevine 9h
RT @edfromred: @IGLevine Any chance of seeing cut content released as Season Pass dlc? -no plans. content cut was cut for a reason.

Aw :(. Well hopefully they won't do the rumored Daisy Fitzroy DLC, that'd be generic and lame.

I'm not entirely sure I'm interested in DLC that doesn't feature Booker and Elizabeth.:?

Indeed.

So, I've made it to the Blue Ribbon. Meaning I've already run into some enemies. Tough stuff on 99.

Hopefully these extra 500 silver eagles will come in handy.

They were a great pair!

I didnt catch that Rosalind was voiced by Jennifer Hale until the credits, too. I can normally spot her voice anywhere.

Just finished it about an hour ago, and all I can say is that I am speechless. Truly, it was a wonderful experiences from beginning to end, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

And really, the ending of thr game came as a shock. Never expected that kind of a twist, and I'm very glad on its execution. This is certainly one ending I will remember for days to come. Spent about half an hour reading through people's interpretation of the ending, but I'll give it to IGN, who have a very complete summary over it. Not sure how to describe how I feel, after this whole experience and the ending. Probably a mixture of both happiness and sadness. But I admit, I do love when a game manages to create such emotions in me. Few games do.

The first thing I did when I got to Columbia was to try and jump off from the city. I figured that there would be some fence, or invisible wall to stop me, but nope, no such thing. So I jumped ! Only to be instatly teleported back to my jumping spot, awww, without any consequences.

It's funny and kinda scary once you think about it. You can clearly see Columbians sitting on edges, children playing nearby. Are those people not afraid of anything ?

Nah, they just get teleported back to where they were previously with no consequences.

If anything, you should be asking why they aren't jumping off the sides of Columbia en masse.

So I'm ending tonight with Booker and Elizabeth off to use Shock Jockey to catch a ride on a blimp.

So far, 1999 mode isn't too bad. I haven't spent my silver eagles on anything, no upgrades at all. Not on my weapons, and not on my vigors. I've made it thus far okay.

On average I stay around 2200-2300 silver eagles at a time.

Been using the shotgun religiously. I'd probably upgrade it if I saw an option to do so.

As far as vigors go, I've used them here and there. Murder of crows is good for crowd control. Perhaps I should upgrade that at least.

Anyway, left Booker and Elizabeth right outside the Hall of Heroes. I'll continue in the morning.

Use murder of crows first and right after it devils kiss, burning crows make short work of everything :) Mass killing with crow trap aid.

And try to spend your money, especially on vigor upgrades, if you are low on money Elizabeth's findings become larger in sum but if you have over 1000 she generally only finds 1 eagle.
Only save 500 for crazy moments, though i never died more than 3 times in a battle and in that battle AI was cheating.. They camped my spawn point....

For me, this is definitely going into my top 5 games of this gen.

Just started playing the game today, and that's exactly where I left off. Good god, I hate how you can't save manually. I already had to replay around 30 minutes because I like to play in short bursts and I didn't even look at when the last checkpoint occured before I quit. And the game doesn't auto-save frequently enough. Really takes you out of the experience when you're forced to rush just to get to the next checkpoint.

Other than that, the game has been awesome.

Yeah, I hope they patch in a manual save system.

I get what they were trying to do, but it punishes those who take their time when playing games and those who only play in small doses.

Actually I haven't get any problem with Infinte save system, game saves in lots of moments and especially before major battles and I quited game lots of times in awkard places. Only lost 10 min of gameplay.

Which is a major bonus if we compare it to Dead Sapce 3 which eats 1 hour of side mission gameplay.............. I really want to say "Hi!" to whoever makes this kind of decisions.
