It is over. And the game seems to be getting top scores everywhere, even from respectable sites like Eurogamer. Lowest score I've seen so far is a 9.4 from Gametrailers.

Seems like the game is actually gonna live up to the expectations.

As per expectations, Morbo, I 100% agree. It seems like the team took considerable time in development and recognized that all eyes would be on them after arguably producing the greatest console game of this generation. I haven't been this excited for a new release since ME2.

So, ending is out on youtube. I won't post an link here because I don't want to be skinned alive, so if you are interested about it, go look for it. All I can say is that the infamous leaked script is for what I have seen, correct. I don't really know what to think about it.

I have never played a Bioshock game before, and I was never planning on getting this game, but word of mouth is telling me I HAVE to get it.

So I will.

As good as the game seems to be, why do I get a sinking feeling that this game is just another 10 hour experience?

A good experience, yes, I am willing to assume that. But a short one.

Well, there are quite a few people saying that the game won't last much more then 8-9 hours even if you do everything. Still better then your typical 4 hours campaign in these generic games.

Most if not all FPS games are short, unless if you count old Duke Nukem and Doom 1 & 2.
However 10 hours is pretty impressive for a FPS game but we play Bioshock games for story, world and characters.

I just hope the game will be more similiar to the original Bioshock and not it's sequel and also hoping it will have another jaw drop twist like Bioshock and System Shock 2 had, can't wait to meet Elizabeth.

Yeah, well, BioShock games aren't very long and don't provide much replayability. This one doesn't seem much different in lenght from what I hear. But hey, it's the story and characters that matters.

I've been reading its a 12-16 hour campaign.

Since I always take more time to play games then advertised, I'll probably get a little over 20 hours with it.

I'm fine with that. Really interested in Elizabeth and her supposedly amazing AI.

I haven't seen a review that gave it lower than a 90/100

If you find one, shut up and don't link it. I want to feel good gosh dang it, :D

I just pre-ordered it last second for my free copy of X-com. Cant wait to get home from work and fire this game up. This has been my most anticipated game for quite some time.

@LPPrince
I saw the video on Elizabeth's AI, it looks to be one of the best designed following companion Ive seen in one of these types of games.

I don't put much stock in reviews these days. Even mediocre games like Dragon Age 2 are awarded high scores that hey don't deserve. Of course, that doesn't mean Bioshock Infinite doesn't deserve the praise it's getting, but I likely won't be convinced unless I play it myself or read and indepth review from a person who isn't a self-proclaimed journalist.

It's awesome, because it looks like Infinite will finally be one of those games that makes you realize it was worth the wait, after it got delayed so much.

Indeed. She looks very interesting. Probably as good as Half Life's Alyx.

Still, not gonna pre-order it instantly. I always wait till either totalbiscuit, angryjoe or yahtzee give their opinions before buying a game. Also scroll through several forums to see what other gamers think.

I am particularly interested to hear Yahtzees opinion on the new game considering his opinions on 1 and 2. I pretty much agreed with his views on 2 (although to a much lesser extent, I still found the game enjoyable)

Same. Can't wait to hear what he'll say about it. And I agree with his views on BS2. Personally, I found the dual combat system and the antagonist as the only good parts of that game.

Agree about totalbiscuit and yahtzee but not Angry Joe.
Don't get me wrong, i watch all of his reviews and he always makes good and valid points but sometimes his reviews are just spot off and he also forgets to mention few things. Like in Skyrim, Hitman: Abomination and Ace Combat.

Although he has my full support on Saints Row 3, at least he rebelled against that game when all "professional" gaming sites rated that game 8 or 9.

Don't see why quantity prevails in terms of enjoyment when it comes to games and the amount of time it takes in their playthrough. Then again, the longer it lasts, the longer the enjoyment.

Anyways, very excited over this game! 2 years of waiting is finally over. Gonna head to Gamestop first thing in the morning and cancel any calls for tomorrow (hypothecnically speaking).

The reviews have certainly been an interesting read. Gamespot mentioned that the game has a "Mind-blowing ending that you won't soon forget." Count me intrigued.

I really want to get the game, but I'm going to wait for a sale of 50% or more. A 12 hour single-player campaign is just too short to justify spending $60. The "Season Pass" DLC makes me want to wait as well.

In 6-12 months I'll be able to buy the game with all the DLC at probably half the price of the initial release.
