Ding dong, the b*tch is dead! The first Siren part was a challenge for me, but the other encounters weren't that troublesome. And I also finished the game at the same time. The roof top of the Hand of the Prophet was a walk in the park, a large part thanks to me having equiped Winter's Shield and Storm as my gear, which made me more or less invincible!

Feels good beating the game on 1999 mode. Gonna wait until the first of the up coming DLCs is out til I replay the game. Gonna expect somewhere in mid-summer, take it or leave it.

That certainly is a theme in Bioshock infinite, but that's not really the main point of it. The ending makes that clearer, regarding the aspect of choice, or rather the illusion of choice across the variables of space and time, where it will be played out at some point, somewhere. For instance the variable where the Vox Populi never engaged in armed rebellion to establish freedom. We see one variable in the game not every variable.

Especially in the final extra scene at the end after the credits. I'll say no more for massive spoilers and because a thread exists for that.

Certainly, it doesn't play that large of a role with the whole concept of multiverse and stuff, but it is still present in our gameplay experience.

So I'm playing BioShock and I have to escort the little sisters but I don't want any to die on me. Help?

So, did upgraded Charge come in handy?

Very much so. Spent some time scavenging for money before the "graveyard battle" so I had Charge fully upgraded, the the battle wasn't such a struggle.

A shame though that I didn't manage to find all the Voxophones, Kinetscopes and Infusions during this playthrough. Ah well, at least I have a reason to replay the game.

I beg to differ, one did die on me.

...Wait is this Bioshock 1 or 2? Because if it's 1 then you should get some bots (if I remember that part well enough) to distract the Splicers and save after she's drained each body. If it's 2 then I don't know what to say.

So are you protecting the little sister from splicers while she harvest bodies? Is it after you play some golf? If so use bots and save often.

I really want to play Bioshock again just for that scene. Fantastic writing.

And you're near the end. Now would you kindly go finish the game?

Already did, yesterday as a matter of fact.

[Non-spoiler post] I just finished Bio:Inf.: What a smart and well-written story! It really seemed like the writers took their time and best of all, they told the story through the world of Columbia, NPCs and gameplay (ala Bioshock 1) rather than through cheap cutscenes. I have to note, however, that I missed the fear aspect of the game. That was such a nice aspect of Bio 1: terrifying scenes/people in a bright musical environment.

When I replay, I'd like to change up my style and would love your suggestions. I played primarily with partilly upgraded shotgun, carbine, electricity & possession on Hard. I don't think I'm good enough for 1999, so I'll likely stick with Hard. Thanks

Alright, then I won't try to convince you to give 99 a chance.

Honestly, just play the game again and let things flow as they do. You're style will change if you make the conscious choice to do so.

Indeed, the story cannot certainly be fully comprehended, unless the player explores and interacts with the world of Columbia - Although, I'd have to say that the city itself and its people took a backseat in Infinite - The story shifted its focus to the main protagonists. Columbia sort of tries to steal the spotlight, here and there, but I feel the main focus is set primarily on Elizabeth and Booker.

This was certainly one of the great aspects of BS1, but I am glad that we got away from Rapture, and got to explore something completely new --I believe that BS2 proved that there is no more to say about Rapture. Columbia stands as a great contrast to the rather gloomy & spine-shivering underwater dystopia that is Rapture - At the same time they are very much alike, in many ways, seen through similarities between each city's people for example. Columbia is still a bit unsettling in its own way I'd say.

Give 1999 mode a chance, it might not be as difficult when you've already played through the game. Image IPB

Infinite does not have a NG+ mode. 1999 mode is Super Hard mode, effectively.

The Bioshock Infinite equivalent to Mass Effect's Insanity.

I found this to be a interesting take on the game.

Warning total spoilers so don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled.

No, you start the game like you would on any other difficulty. EDIT: The user formerly known as LPPrince posted it before me Image IPB
I feel like the game would be too easy with a New Game Plus anyway Image IPB

I don't care about easy or difficult, I care about fun. NG+ is fun.

Of course, I didn't mean to assume that you did, my apologies. Anyway, I'd say 1999 mode is for players, who would like a challenge as well as a good story.

No need to apologize, I did not take offense, I was merely making a point.:D

EDIT: On a different subject, having finished BioShock 1, it strikes me as odd that Infinite would go with a single save slot.

It has a single save slot because apparently Irrational didn't want players abusing saves to make things easier.

*shrugs*

The game didn't have huge game-altering choices, so I don't see the point in a single save with no manual saving.

I found it to be an annoyance given how it only rarely auto-saves. So if I find a hidden audio-recording, then I might need to track it down again if I have to stop playing. Things like that.
