Well, a fully upgraded Charge always helps, along with a shotgun.
This. Anyone who played a vanguard in ME will understand how this strategy works.
As for ammo conservation... other then the patriots you should be 1 shotting most enemys. Abuse jumping on the skylines, using a skyline strike and returning onto the skyline quickly after if ammo is a serious issue. Also possession on the Beasts so they will just commit suicide. The final battle is much more simple then most people make it out to be.

You know, even though I personally thought Elizabeth was very pretty, I didn't even get a sniff of budding romance between them. The only time it surfaces even briefly is during the line you mentioned, and even then, Booker makes it pretty clear that he's not abiding such talk. Theirs is a strictly business relationship at first, which later migrates into a sort of fire-forged friendship (intermixed with the odd clue that they're father and daughter).
OK, maybe most of it was thought up in my head on my end. Yeah, at first it felt like it was just business at first to me as well, but I had the sense that something would "develop" over the course of the game, as recurring rescuing / protecting themes in previous games would take players down similar paths.
I had the idea that there may be some family ties in the back of my head even before the game had been released, but then I thought to myself, "The first two Bioshock games already focus on the parent / child relationship, there's no way this game will have that dynamic again, that'd be just too repetitve, right?". Heh... was wrong about that.

It's $4.99, it's not covered by the season pass, and it's not story DLC. "Columbia's Finest" will give you access to "content given out in the top-editions of the game," which includes: five lockpicks, six pieces of unique gear, $500 and two weapon upgrades.
Yay for story DLC!<_<
BioShock Infinite releases 'Columbia's Finest' DLC pack
EDIT: It costs $3.74 on Steam. As if I were going to buy it anyway.
