A reviewer trying to be clever and break from the crowd. Very poor analysis. There are criticisms to be made of the game, but none of his make any sense. Too many mobs? Mindless shooter? Did he actually play Bioshock?
I love Bioshock Infinite but I have to partially disagree with you here. The combat was pretty mindless and well I think the story and setting were both worth experiencing the truth is you spend the majority of the game mowing down nameless fanatical elitist soldiers. This type of combat fit Bioshock 1 & 2 very well because of the setting and circumstances, but in Infinite it did feel pretty gratuitous.

Is anyone gonna pick up Burial At Sea when it comes out?
I imagine I will give it a try since I already have the season pass. All in all it looks and sounds promising.

And I really wish that I hadn't seen so many clips + a spoiler of Infinite. Before I got excited with just one gameplay trailer. Now, I'm reluctant to buy it even for 13 bucks.

I don't want Bioshock 2 ignored and treated as non-canon, I really liked it.

If anyone has some free time [around 35 minutes to be precise] this is a great video critique of Bioshock Infinite. It's not a review per se and it's not a rant by any means - it's well edited [I mean really], thought-out and critical in just the right places. No jokes, no attempts at humor, he tells it like it is.
I may not agree with everything he says, but I do agree that Bioshock is prime example of an over-hyped game, that could have been so much more that it turned out to be.

Apart from the gameplay bit, he really did make some good points. Not that his gameplay section was wrong, but I just really couldn't be arsed about it. All I bought Infinite for was the story.
And now that's spoilt for me too.
It's been too long since I've played it to come up with any decent counter-points. Maybe some explanations from Ken himself or even in-game stuff he's missed? A lot of people did that for ME3, though there were more holes in that game than in Bin Laden's body, some where covered by other things people missed.
C'mon! There has to be some good arguements against this. The entire game has been ruined for me now. I don't let people spoil things for me when its subjective. But this guy brings out cold hard-ass evidence to back up his claims.

edit- Alright, I went back and skimmed through more of what he had to say, but again got the impression he's just being nitpicky and doing what he accuses the game of doing- finding problems that seem deep but really are just him fixating on certain points and letting them ruin the game for him. It's subjective I guess, because everyone has certain things that become tipping points for them where you stop believing in what you're seeing and start becoming Judgy McJudgerson instead of handwaving a bit and enjoying the ride.
To the big one, his lambasting of the end, yes he understands the ending but his big shibboleth is essentially meaningless. Elizabeth can not only see all worlds, she can manipulate them. So she sees the equation of unique events which will eliminate Comstock. This doesn't mean that there are no more variables in the universes. The Luteces being male and female before Comstock was born and persisting as such whether he's dead or not is irrelevant. That's a variable, but not one that's necessary to Booker becoming Comstock, therefore Elizabeth doesn't need to go back that far to ensure it's changed. I don't even know where he gets the idea that Lutece has to be male in all of Booker's universes and female in all of Comstock's.

Thanks for that.
I need to replay this game again. Or at least go through all the voxophones and plot once more.

- Kotaku: BioShock Infinite's New Expansion Bites Off More Than It Can Chew
Burial at Sea's first episode doesn't ask any new questions, nor does it meaningfully expound upon the answers provided at the end of Infinite. Its attempts to provide fan service wind up dispelling a chunk of Rapture's mystique, and its adherence to the ouroborian twists of Infinite's lore render its story largely meaningless.
- Destructoid: A conflicted return to Rapture (6.5/10)
I wasn't too impressed by Burial at Sea Episode One, mostly because it just doesn't add a whole lot to the overall franchise outside of the last 30 seconds, and it's simply not compelling enough. While it's quite possible that Episode Two will tie everything together in a neat bow and blow us all away, Irrational Games has yet to make a legitimate case for a return to Rapture.
- IGN: A circus of value (7/10)
Though Burial at Sea Episode 1 may be a short vignette next to Infinite’s novel, it’s still one you aren’t likely to put down for the brief time it lasts -- and it’s priced accordingly at $15. Just don’t expect the story to yank the rug out from under you quite so delightfully this time.
- The Escapist: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Review (3.5/5)
Burial At Sea tells an interesting tale with plenty of twists, but it doesn't have enough substance on the gameplay side of things to back it up.
Playtime varies. Kotaku says it's three-or-so hours whereas both Destructoid and The Escapist argue it'll take you two hours maximum provided you explore everything.

The gameplay ain't very good but it's better than Deus Ex:HR. You enjoy the vistas, artistic designs & graphics and some story elements here and there.

So has anyone played it yet? I got season pass, but won't be able to download it tell I'm home. Read the kotaku and ign reviews. I guess it's really short.
Any comments.
Unless I'm mistaken it releases tomorrow.

oh yeah it's the 12th lulz. I got the season pass, I gotta admit I don't think it was worth the 20 bucks... so far. I hope burial at sea is good and isn't as short and let down like all the reviews say it is.

If you want more Rapture, this story takes place on December 31, 1958, the day the s*** hit the fan.
