Aye, it was rather clever for them to include it - Can't see why you shouldn't be able to play it however you want to from the beginning.

Yep. Konami Code.

Everything's telling me that when I get the game I shouldn't start it on 1999 Mode.

Hey man, I ordered it from Gamestop with their free shipping option that supposedly takes 5-10 days.

I took it on faith because sometimes they'll deliver it here the day it comes out, sometimes a couple of days later, sometimes the day after release. I never have to wait that long.

Hopefully you don't either. But its best to avoid the thread anyway, especially if you're like me and take longer to beat games than those that rush to the end.

Same... I hope it comes today.

Hey, cheers mates. Hope y'all get to enjoy the game(those of you that have it already).

As for those of us who've got to wait, do us a favor and refrain from talking plot details till about a week or so after release.

By then you guys have beat the game and can talk about it, and those who don't have the game yet will be off the thread anyway either getting it or playing it.

/says the guy who's hoping he doesn't have to wait till Monday

Just came home from Gamestop and now it is time to start this bad boy! I immediately reversed the cover of the game to the one that the fans voted for. Looks much better now when they also changed the game logo to fit with the art style, which the previous cover lacked. And they also added an alternate case with the words "Fink MFG". Pretty neat!

For those who haven't gotten it yet, I will try to avoid spoilers for the time being, and post a warning if I'm posting something 'spoiler-ish'.

Yep, no story spoilers please.

Gameplay wise, the shooting is much more fun than Far Cry 3 (possibly because it's more action oriented and less sneaky sneaky).

At time of writing, I just survived boarding a giant blimp, killed everyone on board and destroyed the engines so the damn thing would crash.

After finishing the story, I'm restarting the whole thing on 1999 mode.

I'm picking up our copy at lunch today, but told my husband I'd let him play it first. I am too nice for my own good.

I DO plan to watch, of course.

OK, that sounded weird.

I watched my son play the first two over and over that I never really felt the need to play them myself.
Since many times he would let me backseat control, I felt like I've pretty much played them.

He goes through every character and has hours on end on just about every game more than anyone I know. Then again, he's 16 so he's got time on his hands.

I think he's going to have me swing him by Gamestop after school today to pick it up.
And of course, I will be hanging out with him to watch him play!

A Companion You Care About: Bioshock Infinite's Elizabeth with Ken Levine and Adam Sessler

Also, Adam Sessler gave the game a straight up 5/5 mentioning no flaws.

Adam Sessler Bioshock Infinite Review

I'm sure there's a flaw here and there(every game has them) but gah. GOOD HEARSAY

I know how you feel mate. In my country, games come out at least a week after the initial release. Maybe even longer if the demand isn't high enough.
When SWTOR came out in December 2011, here in Romania it appeared in stores in April 2012 .

Now I just use Steam, but I still curse the people in charge ;)

I could've paid for faster shipping but I decided to bank on it getting here earlier than advertised(5-10 days for shipping, 2 days for processing).

Would be so much easier if I was in Tennessee

So, anyone think we're going to get an ending controversy out of this? Or is it too soon to ask?

The ME board had a couple threads about this already, but we're idiots over there.
