Just finished the game- rather short I must say; took about 10 hours on normal but it was a fantastic shooter. It's narrative and plot are easily the best I've played in years- maybe this entire generation. The ending and final moments will be debated and talked about for months if not years- it's that crazy and good. There is a twist. And no you will not see it coming. I think I'll be posting a full review of the game on BSN off topic forum soon. But I must say- Bioshock infinite is the clear cut game of the year contender. All other games released this year will be measured against it for me. Amazing. Ken Levine is a master of his craft. Creative minds like his are rare. And creative minds like his in the game industry are even rarer. Bioshock infinite is a masterpiece. Now time to play 1999 mode- should be fun and painful. Good times.

For those of you who beat the game, do you see yourselves playing DLCs for this game in the future? Enough to make the Season Pass worth a purchase?

Good, good.

I'll likely download the Season Pass after I beat the game the first time.

Finished it a half hour ago, took 10 hours on Normal, First triple A release I've played with that handles certain rarely touched on Sci-Fi concepts (Multiverse). It was a damn excellent game a full10/10 for sure

Would be cool to see Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider up there as GoTY candidates.

Haven't finished Tomb Raider yet, but I'm looking forward too.

As for Bioshock, yes it is worthy of GOTY.  I was planning on starting it again on 1999 mode, but now I'm afraid that my arse will be handed to me in the later levels. I suck at shooters and RTS games. Thank God RPGs exist, so I'm not totally useless.

Yeah I figure I'll play the game on Easy or Medium to start, then after I complete it I'll jump into 1999 mode instead of starting there like a moron.

I noticed that none of you tried to stop me.

Start it on Medium because Easy won't actually prepare you for 1999. Those Handymen and Patriots can kill you very easily if you're not on constant alert.

Also there are these guys...

I actually think starting on 1999 would be smart for the simple fact that after that everything will be a bloody breeze

90% on Steam. First AAA new release i've purchased for a while. I didn't much care for Bioshock, but i feel i'll enjoy this much more as it's setting is more to my tastes and the PC is actually a character.

Also, i heard the dynamic between the PC and Elizabeth is pretty good.

How long is this game? I HATE paying full price for games that won't last more than 15 hours, luckily I live in the UK, home of quick price drops, so I will be able to find it for around £20 in a few weeks like I did with Skyrim, but the length is still a concern. I've played the other BioShocks and they essentially have no replay value at all, I expect this to be the same, which is why I am waiting for the price drop.

Around say ~18hours if you look around and explore around the place

I do not believe most of you will find 1999 mode difficult. Yes, you will probably die a few times, but you get revived every time since money is in every corner of Columbia. I have died few times since starting and I have yet to dent the constant flow of money. Resources are just as easy if not easier to find in Columbia than in Rapture, so I doubt most veteran gamers will ever come close to losing the game.

If you want a game with zero interruptions though, the usual recommendation to play on casual/easy is the best approach.

Took me 13 hours exploring almost everything.
