the posted workaround doesn't appear to be working for everyone.

Oh and if you want something to take away the sweet add some lime to it. NOT LEMON. Dear lord not lemon. Had a friend do that by mistake and ouch.

I'm holding my character just before finishing Ostagar because i heard in RTO that there is "a new way to aquire dog" and i want to see the new way instead of the not-so-random encounter

It's silly to hold off in your case, because you cannot even play Return to Ostagar (even if you purchased RtO and uploaded it) until you complete Ostagar and reach (maybe finish?) Lothering.  I'm sure of that.

So go ahead and finish Ostagar -- while you're in Ostagar now for the first time, you can choose to get the Dog.  If you do choose not get the dog there now, you will (as stated in the prerelease of RtO) be able to get the Dog while playing RtO instead.

Edit: Of course, this does not apply to Human Nobles who have a Dog already when they first arrive @ Ostagar.

For anyone that has the DLC. i did what people have said on here - cleared the cache et al, and now my game is running normally and I'm able to use RTO without any problems. I had to roll 2 characters before my specialisations opened up again, so rolling 2 characters for a few minutes might do the trick.

I could very well be mistaken, but, the aforementioned work-around (deleting one's system cache via the memory option) only works if a player is able to access the Bioware Server (something which is quickly becomming a much hated object, to me at least) after game restart in order to access their associated profile, which contains data confirming specializations unlocked. I have been unable to access my own profile via the 360, despite my best attempts to trouble-shoot on both ends. This is nothing new, sadly, however this is the first time not being able to access my profile has truly caused the game to be held back in some capacity. None the less, I shall simply stand by and attempt to occupy myself with a Mass Effect new-game+ play through.

you've got to be kidding me. Did you even bother to test the title update? Certainly doesn't seem that way.

You want us to continue to help sign your paychecks, but yet you render some people's games nearly unplayable and all you can say is sorry, we'll fix it as soon as possible? This is acceptable to you?

you know what, don't bother answering that. I don't want more excuses as lame as "We're trying, but we can't tell you anything, because you wouldn't understand, or your not entitled to know". We are entitled to know, because we paid for this piece of crap software. We spent OUR hard earned money on a game that you shipped bugged, incomplete, and when you try to patch it, you kill it for the majority of the people.

Okayyyy wait a minute here..."you want us to continue to help sign your paychecks"........sorry can't resist this one.

Tresser, far as I know...NONE of the forum goers work in payroll, nor do they sign cheques on behalf of the employees, ..unless I have been drunk all this time and doing this unbeknownst to me.

Addiction!!  What did you put in that drink...?? hehehe

and the "hard earned money"....if one more person states that one..(five bucks, five bucks five bucks)  I am going to.........either buy a violin to accompany them OR....tell my own hardship story of having to climb a steep hill in 40 below weather in bare feet...

Backwards!  Yeah :P  And if you believe that one..I have a blue bridge to sell you too. :)

Clearing the cache clears every game update and the fact it has worked for many (including for myself that has never been able to connect to the servers) i think it's safe to assume DA updates are just like every other game updates out there - easily deleted.

Where's the PC download for RtO? BioWare said it was out now. Maybe they have it ready but do not work on weekends and we have to wait until Monday?

i'm very worried that the expansion pack is going to make my pc blow up. I mean they already gave a date on it, and if they rush to meet that date and over look something... who knows what could happen. Either way it looks like they need to completley overhall how they do DLC. In fact they should stop doing DLC and the expansion pack until what they have works. I don't like the fact that talking to shale causes me to magically appear in "the land without smiles"

Mr. Priestly must be off for a long weekend, since his last post on this is two days old.  I've read elsewhere the RtO was to be released today.  I am very surprised that Mr. Priestly didn't post an update on that here -- and if he is off on holiday, that someone else in his department hasn't picked up the slack?  Maybe no one at BioWare works on weekends.

It's all growing pains, since juggling three platforms, by definition, will result in certain balls dropping.

My prediction is BioWare will smarten up and concentrate on PC *first.*  Once it's out for the PC, the console strokers can get theirs eventually ;P
