The funny thing is, I still have my Return to Ostagar DLC (got it the morning it came out) after using that clear cache fix, and it still seems to be fully functional (I already got the achievement that I think the patch is required to get). I still have the armor, and nothing bad seems to happen when I travel to Ostagar. Hmm, I'll just have to wait and see if anything bad comes up. Hopefully I'll still get my Traveler achievement now.  To be safe I'm loading the last save I have that I know was before the patch (and will repeat RtO and see if it works. ;)

If you avoided the title update or got rid of it..I think your problem is solved.  Least thats what I understood from other gamers who have posted about this issue in the current thread.

No response Addiction? This is the second time you've complained about one of my posts without addressing any points of my posts or caring to respond when I respond to you. That's a bit annoying. A bit rude.

Troll marked. Enjoy your waffles, with your soda and SoCo cough syrup. I bet that makes for an attractive figure, amirite? Don't respond to any of my posts in the future though, at least not with the intention of me reading them.

Your life must be sad...thats whats coming across in your postings.

Cheer up...have a Canadian beer! :P

Successful way to re-unlock your specializations if you did download the patch is as follows; You have to do a Gamertag Recovery. This forces Microsoft to re-sync your profile and therefor corrects the error applied by the patch. To do this, sign out of all your profiles then select the box for Profile Sign-In, select Recover Gamertag and input the information for your Xbox Live ID. It wont erase or change any of your data because you are simply re-writing the profile you already have back onto to your hard-drive. Then go into an old save file, find a way to re-unlock just one specialization (I suggest using some party members' dialogue options) then save in a NEW file. Exit the game completely, then when you go back in all specializations you had unlocked will be re-opened across your entire profile. Yay!

How is my life sad? I come here today, briefly, to see some news and am disappointed to find none. From my experience in handling customers, I find it a bit insulting and wanted to say so.

In this brief time, I've received, from two different people who post on here FAR more often than I do, questions as to the quality of my life?

Seriously?

Notice I don't throw those kind of under-handed insults.

But thanks, thrust me, my life is fine. I can at least recognize ****** poor customer service when I see it, and will say so, and don't feel the need to insult people over the internets (unless they insult me first).

Have a nice day. Canadian beer sucks. I prefer a Leffe. And in case you didn't know, "get a life", however paraphrased, is a sad thing to say on a gaming forum. What I hear is "I'm such a fan of this company that I spend hours on here everyday insulting people who come here with legitimate complaints."
Does BioWare pay for that? It'd be good to know SOMEONE is working on the BioWare dole today ;)

Really, you shouldn't have saved your saves, seeing as they were corrupted, been there ya know.
But still, you should have known how corrupted this thread is and any info will have people demanding new machines because BioWare intentionally destroyed their computers. Then BioWare will end up locking the whole website and PANDAMONIUM WILL REIN and...uhh..well err..

But I'm right there with you on the Microwave thing, I'm not putting up with slow cooking appliances, unless somebody else  is using them of course.

But a good steak does not turn out good in the standard microwave. Best seared/cooked in a good old cast iron frying pan or on the trustworthy barbecue!!! Posted Image

Beliving everything you read on the internet again I see Fender. It is a bad way to go thru life, or did you just see a oportunity to continue ****ing?
Show me the evidence that you know FOR A FACT that there is no one at BW working...  Do not worry I have nothing but time this weekend.

No one in the PR department is working today.

Lack of evidence is evidence. How do I show proof of something intangible? Are you going to ask me to prove God's existence while we're at it?

I'm glad you notice me and find my complaints so bad, even though there are people who've said much worse things about BioWare on a much more consistent basis. Personally, I think if you're that bothered by my disgust of this company's recent practices, you must have some stake in the company. Even if it's just your little fanboy heart.

And you drink soda and SoCo. That's gross.

Look sorry for the rant. You have your pet peeves and I have mine. Mine would be people that pass speculations, assumptions and guess work of as evidence (that and putting your name at the end of a post. Really? why do some people do that ****) and that type of "evidence" is not evidence at all and is more likely to just ****** people of then anything.

And no I more or less take shots with a sam adams back. I cannot drink vodka anymore after downing a half gallon in one night in my youth. I am allergic to yeagermeister, everytime I drink it I break out in handcuffs. I can not stand clear liqours and SoCo is the only dark one that does not get me in trouble.

You can continue to slam your head against the wall making the same statements and arguments over and over again if you want but be assured that if it is just assumptions and guess work someone will call you out on it.

P.S. Why are you so upset theres no one at the PR department? Would you like another PR canned response because its clear that is all that we will get right now for whatever the reason. Me? I am more worried that all the code monkeys are watching hockey and drinking right nowPosted Image

Kinder responses, thank you.

It is silly to be upset over five dollars. But I never said I was upset over five dollars. I'm upset that my five dollars has resulted in me having to check back here constantly to see if my money will ever be good for anything, only to see nothing of BioWare and instead have my lifestyle insulted by the forum regulars (which is fine enough, do what you do).

But that's what bothers me. At this point, BioWare can honestly keep the five dollars. I am about ready to just sign-off of this place.

I'm sure I'd be greatly missed. ;)

They lost that 5 dollars on a intercorporation bet of RtO coming out the 14th...  Microsoft just got 5 dollars richer.

Just leveled up during RtO. Still have my specializations, so the version they released then pulled doesn't seem to have any problems with it besides the achievement for it not working without that horrible patch, which was the only real problem to begin with. But they won't release RtO again until they release another patch that enables the achievement (and hopefully fixes the spec bug).

But remember people, clear system cache, load up Dragon Age, then restart your console. It should work.

Hell yes!  I can confirm that clearing the system cache does work.  I'm fairly certain that it fixes pretty much everything (restores profile data, as I think the problem the patch caused was preventing you from accessing it, including achievement progress.  After doing the cache clearing method I got the Recruiter achievement that I previously couldn't during the glitch (recruited Landsmeet ally)).

First I cleared the system cache (by going from the dashboard to System Memory, highlighting the HDD, pressing Y, then selecting the clear system cache option, and I did the same for my memory card for good measure.  Here's the MS site on it if you can't figure it out:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971755)  The good thing now is that the glitched patch has been removed, so you can still play online after you do this, and not have to worry about the patch being accidentally reinstalled.

Then I loaded up Dragon Age and loaded a save where I could unlock a spec (in my case it was in The Gauntlet just before the Urn of Sacred Ashes, at the choice you make to get Reaver spec), then got that spec to unlock.  (not sure if this step is necessary).

Then I shut off the Xbox completely (make sure it is fully off if you have background downloads enabled or something).  Then I started it back up, loaded up Dragon Age, and saw that all my specializations were back.  Needless to say I was quite happy.  I then completed the Landsmeet and was able to get the Recruiter achievement I was previously unable to, as mentioned at the beginning of my (rather lengthy :P) post.

There may have been other steps to get it fully working again that I didn't mention, but the only other thing I can think of is I disconnected my internet while in game, went back to the main menu, then signed into the Dragon Age servers before shutting down my console.

It is unfortunate that this post will probably be buried under several new pages in a couple hours and will probably be overlooked, but if we can get some more people to confirm that this for sure works, then maybe someone from Bioware can make an official thread about it so we don't have to wait for an official patch to fix it for us, which may not even be here for another week.

Sweet, that worked.

I just copied your idea, cleared the cache, loaded a game where I had all the specializations, saved it, then loaded my previous game and now everything is unlocked.

Aye, RtO is good to go, they just need a patch to fix their early screw-up patch and it will be right back out...until then, IF clearing the cache does not work for you: Successful way to re-unlock your specializations if you did download the patch is as follows; You have to do a Gamertag Recovery. This forces Microsoft to re-sync your profile and therefor corrects the error applied by the patch. i'm very worried that the expansion pack is going to make my pc blow up. I mean they already gave a date on it, and if they rush to meet that date and over look something... who knows what could happen. Either way it looks like they need to completley overhall how they do DLC. In fact they should stop doing DLC and the expansion pack until what they have works. I don't like the fact that talking to shale causes me to magically appear in "the land without smiles"

Interesting..you have piqued my curiosity...where is the "land without smiles"  ....Deep Roads?  hehe

It's all growing pains, since juggling three platforms, by definition, will result in certain balls dropping.

My prediction is BioWare will smarten up and concentrate on PC *first.*  Once it's out for the PC, the console strokers can get theirs eventually ;P

smarten up and concentrate on pc first huh. love how pc user's think they are entitled to everything first.

Well, it isn't that we deserve them first. But IF the dlc is ready we should have it. Bioware PROMISED pc users that the consoles would not affect their delivery to the pc. I think this was after they announced the delay of the original game so they could release the consoles at the same time.

So I guess there is a feeling of entitlement; but based on a very real promise from the developer.
