That would be all well and good if it was the DLC itself that caused the issue and not the 360 hastily put together title update. People who have played the DLC on PC mind you, report no issues. Why people continue to stick to a strawman arguement that the DLC itself is broken just to defend a total breakdown in communication & support is beyond me at this point.

I guess I can rejoin this now

If we go back to Jan 13. MS releases ahead of schedule. Bioware see this and go oh **** - we better get the pc version out as well or they will scream blue murder. So Chris says yup we will get it out.

Then the 360 issue hits. No ideas why. All hands on deck to look at it. Pull it off xbox live. At this stage they can't release it to pc users because they don't know where the problem is. Once they determine it is the title update, they still don't release it to pc users. Why? The most logical reason is still that there is a contract with MS on simultaneous release.

They know that there are plenty of people out there with the illegal pc download of it, and even though they may be locking threads down for talking about it, they know there is no issue. The simple fact is that whoever agreed on the (probable) simultaneous release screwed the pooch. So regardless of whether or not the pc version is fine, we won't see it until they can safely release the 360 version - unless they get some kind of agreement from MS to not enforce the contract for this dlc.

Finally, after one locked thread and well over 200 pages of this thread, someone, while BioWare's head remains in the sand for the last 4 days, provides a concise, reasonable delineation of WTF is going on.

OMG, it's scary to ponder the grief we face regarding multi-platform games as BioWare continues to be challenged at juggling the mutli-platform balls!

Also, as noted by someone above in this thread, BioWare's inability to get their arms around "community support"  in matters like this makes us wonder what we will face with SW:TOR ...

Having played through it, I'd definately say that Return to Ostagar is worth the $5 it costs. It may not have the utility of Warden's Keep, and I do wish that the grounds of Ostagar had been even more overrun by darkspawn than they were (bring on the hordes! my team can take it!), but the codex entries, items, Allistair-Wynne conversation, and the completion of King Cailin's tale all add great value to the overall game.

Y'know, ignoring the specialization breaking title update bug. :-)

Agreed man I wanted multiple hurlock alphas to run at me with axes in hand and ogres to charge at me along with a few extremely tough generals. It is priced exactly as it should be, and was a great dlc to get. Thank you Bioware, and I am not really upset with the title update so take your time and only release it when you feel it is ready to go on the market.

I enjoyed RtO. I do agree that it should have been 3 or 4 times as many enemies rushing at you, even if they were grunts. Just numerous wave after wave. Make it feel more epic. I did like the concept though. I even liked the cute little Genlock cutscenes. ;)

I am dissapointed that specializations are broken AND there has been not a single word in three days.

Well, it's a holiday weekend.  Bad timing for a glitch.

The effective range of an excuse is zero meters.

Edit: Besides, while Martin Luther King is respected in Canada, this is just a normal weekend there (no Holiday).

Indeed most folks who post in this thread have not been allowed to play RTO its not released for them yet.  Please don't put spoilers in a No Spoilers Allowed thread.

Yes I realize that, and I'm sorry if anyone is upset about what we said. I don't feel it is a spoiler to say we wanted more enemies, considering we did not say the number of enemies we had to face. For all you know we faced 30 or a 100, but wanted 50 or 200.

While I don't think I stated anything that's not in the official DLC description aside from my value judgement, the moderators may delete my above post at their discretion.  I will, however, ix-nay any further alk-tay on the ontent-cay in its entirity.

Has anyone stickied or made it known that clearing the cache of the 360 will remove the title update?

I've heard of that fix (cache clearing), but I don't know what it would do to my Ostagar DLC.  My current game log is Ostagar-booty heavy and I'd hate to cause even more problems for my game than already exists at present.

Ive got RTO running at this point on y xbox, and I was also able to correct the specialization bug. Sometimes I <3 xbox.

I don't know how its taking them so long to release it for the PC and PS3, but have fun with that.

It didn't do anything to mine that I noticed, my save after Ostegar loaded up, I had the items in my inventory... though I also didn't experience the specialization glitch personally (my char I took there was level 10, and on all my party members all my specializations were still unlocked) and I never had the achievements not showing up glitch, either.

I just decided to ditch the update to prevent problems... though I didn't load up any of my older games end game saves, so I'm hoping they just sat there completely untouched by all my downloading and wiping.

Though this does mean every other game disc I put in will have to get their title updates again too now ....

The longer this goes on, the less faith I have in BIOWARE. I mean seriously what the hell is going on here? The DLC was available on PC weeks ago albeit not exactly legally. They claim that it was bugged, but I know several people who have it and it is perfectly fine, so I have to say I don't exactly trust what they've said. I think they just said that to deter people from DLing it. And now this title update problem which just screws everyona all together? Give me a break. BIOWARE claims that we can't have RtO without the title update, yet dozens of people on this very forum have been playing RtO after deleting the update perfectly fine. More lies it would seem. I've been pretty calm about this even though we've all been lead along on a string and teased for weeks now, but this is truly getting tiresome, and for what? For an hour worth of content? God help us when the expansion is due out in March. Did I say March? I meant August.

If this is what's happened with a small DLC, Awakening is down the pan come March...

Why does it have to be lies?

There's an item you find that seems like it should be really important, maybe even start a quest, or at least trigger some dialogue but there is nothing. I don't know that there wasn't supposed to be something come from it because I didn't write it so how could I report that it was missing or glitched??

You don't know anything of the sort, I really don't get why people think they are entitled to have things THIS-INSTANT!! and anything short of a 10 page thesis clearly explaining why every action was taken means that there are evil plots afoot.

Mistakes happen, people try to deal with the best they can. Everybody isn't out to get you.

Alright... how the hell do you get this DLC (PC)? I've spent way too long trying to figure out how to give Bioware money for this. It's not available in the DLC section of the game, and it's not anywhere online. Where is it????

I prefer to set people to the torch that make mistakes and then fail to live up to my lofty unwavering standards no matter what the circumstances are because I just do no give a **** about why or what is going on but that I did not get felated by the customer service department.

Forgive and forget because the world is not perfect and neither are the animals on it. Yes even paid professionals can screw the proverbial pooch ever once and a while. At this point I doubt anything including full disclosure would change anyones mind about the whole situation.

For me the true measure will be what they learn from this fiasco and how things are handled in the future.

I'll tell you right now, if you think the mild outcry that this thread has brought will be anything in comparison to what will happen if the same issues occur with ME2 DLC or worse SW:Kotor then you'll have your work cut out for you.

Its true no one is perfect and people make mistakes, but there comes a point when mistakes are repetedly made and there's a level of lack of support that you really can't defend anymore. And really we're kinda beyond that as it is.

Different division of Bioware.

ME2 and DAO are both Edmonton, Alberta, Canada based.

SWTOR is Austin, Texas, US based.

IIRC anyway.
