It was out for a hot minute for the 360, it got pulled back because of problems. It was not supposed to go out when it did.
The PC version was never officially released, but some have managed to acquire it from less than legal sources.

Thanks for the answer. I knew it was pulled on 360. Everywhere else I've read keeps saying it's out on PC, hence the confusion. Thanks for the info!

Why does it have to be lies?
There's an item you find that seems like it should be really important, maybe even start a quest, or at least trigger some dialogue but there is nothing. I don't know that there wasn't supposed to be something come from it because I didn't write it so how could I report that it was missing or glitched??
You don't know anything of the sort, I really don't get why people think they are entitled to have things THIS-INSTANT!! and anything short of a 10 page thesis clearly explaining why every action was taken means that there are evil plots afoot.
Mistakes happen, people try to deal with the best they can. Everybody isn't out to get you.
Not so much lies but there's quite a few of us who play on xbox who are now glitched out. All the book specs are gone, so certain specilizations are no longer available to us until this is fixed.

I say "lies" because I choose to believe that they (won't specify who) are lying to us about this whole RtO spectacle. Because that's what this has become. A spectacle. I suppose it could be over-estimating abilities? Instead of lies, but, I choose lies because it just seems to me that SOOOOOO many other companies seem to get their products out on their release date. It just boggles the mind how so many other video game companies and movie companies seem to get their products out when they say they will. And yes, I'm not naive to the fact that other companies miss release dates, but many times release dates are changed in accordance to what the movie or game will be competing against. Say Awakening for instance. I wouldn't doubt it gets delayed because BIOWARE's PR people decide it's not a safe or equitable move to put an expansion out at such a heafty price tag a mear week before Final Fantasy XIII comes out across the board. And what will happen is they will come on here and feed us some load about how "this code wasn't right" to try and convince us that what they did was best for us, when in reality what they did was because some PR guy in a suit said if we do it this way it will make more money. This happens ALL the time with movies, and I'm sure it happens with video games. I mean no offense to DAO but who here really thinks it has a chance to compete against the likes of Final Fantasy? Especially since this will be the first Final Fantasy in several years and the first on Xbox.

Edit: @Finnroth if you are referring to RtO that is funny because virtually most of the reports I have heard of it have been really good.
When I say most of the reports, I mean apart from the sad little whiny brats that don't know what the true meaning of an RPG is.

But even if you believed all of that, what would that have to do with RtO's problems? Nothing, so likely it *is* just a big mistake that they are earnestly trying to fix because no one likes screw ups.

Final Fantasy was all well and good in it's heyday, but personally I'll go for a Bioware product before I touch one from Square Enix. So yes, a DAO product can compete with FF. I'm certain I am not alone on this.

Clear your cache it works. You may have to turn the conole off and restart the game again but it does work.

If this conversation was about Awakenings, you might have a point, but logically it makes no sense to create this kind of fustercluck over a small DLC like RtO that would negatively impact the community so much and might damage future sales whenever they occurred.
You don't need to make it all complicated - you can still be upset about the way things dominoed out of control, the lack of good discourse, the ADHD manor in which things were announced and then pulled back without the malice or conspiracy behind it.

I think he meant for the story elements more than the loot or the hack-n-slash, because he is right in that storywise it is the best DLC to date, lots of interesting tidbits. Not very long, but the loot is very good and the fights aren't that bad, just not as many as I would have thought, but you can rationalize the lack of more because of passage of time and enemies wandering away during the months since the battle happened - they had no driving reason to stay there.
Thanks Sar, saved me writing all that
To coin a phrase Quality > Quantity
If they had made it into a 2-3 hour hack&slash fest with zero story I would not deem that a true RPG.
The thing is, I know Bioware are ALL about the story. So I have faith in them delivering the goods when they can.

And that is, of course, your prerogative. I myself enjoyed several of their titles (and I was around for the original FF on NES). I just think it's unfair to issue a blanket statement that DAO would be inherently unable to compete with FF. That's all

You'd think they'd change the release date for RTO while they were at it as they've clearly missed the holiday season by now no matter which way you cut it. Maybe they were hoping nobody would notice?
