So excuse me if their explanation doesn't quite add up given all the other developments to this ongoing dramatic rollercoaster that is RtO. And same answer to the reason they are "with holding" RtO when last they said, everything got pulled down due to the title update. Which we've seen pretty clear here, that the title update is NOT needed for RtO. So they can by all means continue to spin all the stories they want, but until those stories start coming through NOT looking like swish cheese, I'm not going to believe a damn thing they say!!!!
Welp then don't...no skin off my nose for sure. The "official" explanation..was given out in the url I posted, and we'll have to be satisfied with that..til something else is said by the powers that be.
I never expected it to be skin off your nose, or anyone else's. This is a place to discuss it, and I felt I would discuss my beliefs, as I've seen you discuss yours. You believe their nonsence, I don't, end of story it would seem.

The difference between you and me is not as you cited..where we differ is..I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully...they will come through ...have it fixed for the 360 and allow me and other PC users like me..to finally download and play the Dlc.
There's all kinds of things that needed to go on behind the scenes once that oopsie happened with the MS employee releasing that update with the wrong date on it.
First off damage control for sure, thats why they quickly stated that the PC version would be out too, but then the bug with the 360 happened and they had to pull the whole thing.
Thats how it stands right now....you don't want to believe it don't...just put your tinfoil hat on and invent things ...k?

Since I was the unlucky few that installed the patch and RtO the morning it was briefly up on XBL am I going to have to re-unlock all of my specializations? I sincerely hope not.

You raise an interesting point, but the same goes both ways padawan. Denial doesn't make it so, nor does it make it true, all it does is make the whole situation suspicious. Which then creates a thread like this which streams on hundreds of pages filled with bonehead ideas and complaints. If BIOWARE would give us the damn courtesy of a single half witted, half detailed explanation, maybe it would shut us all up. But apparently they don't respect us, the consumers enough to explain anything to us. Whether it's something minimum is not the point, when you are creating a product and something goes wrong, I think you owe it to your consumers to explain what. When GRACO recalls 50,000 cribs, they don't just say send them back, they tell you what's wrong. And I as a consumer feel disrespected by BIOWARE's behavior regarding this whole RtO debacle.

Maybe they did it for the same reason I did. Better with a hand held controller then with the key bored and mouse. If I was better at using the controls for computer games I would of bought it for my lap top.
And yeah that is reasonable. I wasn't trying to insinuate they were an idiot for buying on 360, I was genuinely interested in their reasoning. After some other rpgs that I have played on the xbox - and seen the additional content you get from a pc when they offer a toolset - I just decided I wouldn't get another game like this on a console and miss out on all that creative fun

There's a workaround for it til ..they create a bug patch for the 360 owners. I don't know what it is..maybe I should memorize it..people ask it quite a bit. Probably take some searching backwards say ten pages or so.

The longer this goes on, the less faith I have in BIOWARE. I mean seriously what the hell is going on here? The DLC was available on PC weeks ago albeit not exactly legally. They claim that it was bugged, but I know several people who have it and it is perfectly fine, so I have to say I don't exactly trust what they've said. I think they just said that to deter people from DLing it. And now this title update problem which just screws everyona all together? Give me a break. BIOWARE claims that we can't have RtO without the title update, yet dozens of people on this very forum have been playing RtO after deleting the update perfectly fine. More lies it would seem. I've been pretty calm about this even though we've all been lead along on a string and teased for weeks now, but this is truly getting tiresome, and for what? For an hour worth of content? God help us when the expansion is due out in March. Did I say March? I meant August.
Man there have been some stupid posts since I was last here. And I have to say most of them are yours. If you spent 10 minutes reading before you made rant posts perhaps you wouldn't be ranting the same drivel time and time again
Bioware never said that the DLC wouldn't work without the title update. Either MS required them to package them together or they felt it was easier to do so because of the cumbersome certification that is involved. There have been many stories of developers being disillusioned with the certification process because MS in many cases asks them to add stupid features that either change or do not fit with the game. Or they ask for aspects to 'dumb down' the game - like lots of hints.

You don't know anything of the sort, I really don't get why people think they are entitled to have things THIS-INSTANT!! and anything short of a 10 page thesis clearly explaining why every action was taken means that there are evil plots afoot.
Mistakes happen, people try to deal with the best they can. Everybody isn't out to get you.
I say "lies" because I choose to believe that they (won't specify who) are lying to us about this whole RtO spectacle. Because that's what this has become. A spectacle. I suppose it could be over-estimating abilities? Instead of lies, but, I choose lies because it just seems to me that SOOOOOO many other companies seem to get their products out on their release date. It just boggles the mind how so many other video game companies and movie companies seem to get their products out when they say they will. And yes, I'm not naive to the fact that other companies miss release dates, but many times release dates are changed in accordance to what the movie or game will be competing against. Say Awakening for instance. I wouldn't doubt it gets delayed because BIOWARE's PR people decide it's not a safe or equitable move to put an expansion out at such a heafty price tag a mear week before Final Fantasy XIII comes out across the board. And what will happen is they will come on here and feed us some load about how "this code wasn't right" to try and convince us that what they did was best for us, when in reality what they did was because some PR guy in a suit said if we do it this way it will make more money. This happens ALL the time with movies, and I'm sure it happens with video games. I mean no offense to DAO but who here really thinks it has a chance to compete against the likes of Final Fantasy? Especially since this will be the first Final Fantasy in several years and the first on Xbox.
Of course they can't tell us who is at fault. if they blame it on the programmers someone, somewhere will know the team and leak the names of those people. If it is MS and they point the finger well they just pissed off their corporate partner. Do you live in the real world, or one where there is no consequence?
Final Fantasy has been **** for a while. As someone else said the latest is already being touted as the worst ever. So go, enjoy it. Bioware has more than a big enough fanbase to be scared by FF. They will be more worried about ME2 in my opinion.

So why then does RtO have to be pulled, when we have so many people playing it just fine without the update? I could give 2 flying f**** about the update, and if I don't need it to play RtO, then I simply don't want it, nor would I download it willingly. So this need to push RtO back yet again over something that isn't "needed" seems to me that things aren't adding up here and we MAY be being lied to. That's where the theory starts. Then you can flesh it out to the future and Awakenings if you like.
You do realise people are playing the dlc based on a work-around? Which doesn't work for everyone. And which may or may not have other consequences depending on where you are in the story. If they leave it out there and more problems arise then they get more screaming from people asking why they didn't pull it when there was already 1 problem. You really need to be able to open your eyes to more than 1 outcome and see where the dangers lie.

It is "out" on PC, whether BIOWARE wants to admit that it's "bug free" or not. I've seen it played and seen that all the achievements work on the "leaked" copy. So by all means someone tell me what's "incomplete" about it. BIOWARE sure didn't, because then their whole ploy of trying to deter you PC players from getting it for free wouldn't work. It's obviously a marketing ploy just like why movie companies release a single disk copy of a movie then 2 years later issue out the "2 Disk Special Edition". The whole marketing ploy behind it is that "you don't have all the special features". Sound familiar? It sounds like the same exact feed BIOWARE gave us the other day where they say it's "incomplete", yet don't say what. Want to know why? Because it IS complete.
Most pc players won't get it illegally because we are LONG TERM supporters of Bioware. Given that we could simply back up our saves, download it and try it (and if it caused problems uninstall/reinstall the game and go back to our old saves) it has nothing to do with us not wanting to try it for fear of bugs. We want to support Bioware so that they produce content in the future.
There is also the assumption (and it is only that), that Bioware and MS have a contract for simultaneous release, so they can't release it until the MS version is ready.

What's a feedback forum for, if not for a consumer to voice their complaints and receive feedback from the company that is providing? And I hate to beat a dead horse, but RtO is fine according to anyone that has played it, so for whatever unknown, and unexplained reason BIOWARE is keeping it from it's consumers.

Like I said before, you find an item that seems like it should be of supreme importance and it rates no response what-so-ever from anyone. It is entirely possible that that item was supposed to start the "more about Duncan" side quest that was advertised... I can tell you right now that as of yet I have seen no evidence of any such side quest... think maybe a non-triggering side quest rates as a good enough reason to pull it?
Again this is wild speculation - all people who played can accurately say is that it SEEMED to play fine with the work around.

Sure it is for feedback. Real honest factual feedback. Not conspiracy theories based on nothing.
Fine according to who? The few that would actualy say anything? And those few have done everything possible inside RtO to support their claims that it is perfect? Not all bugs jump out and slap you in the face. MANY involve doing certain things first. Of course that is if the "issue" was a bug and that the bug actauly took place in the confines of RtO.
FYI when implenting new software into exsisting software it is very unwise to just look at and test the new software and ignore what is allready there.
And no you seem to thoroughly enjoy beating the dead horse into pulp. It is about the only thing you have done.

How exactly do you play Final Fantasy XII on 360? It's a PS2 exclusive!

they will block this thread soon. lol
While they came in here and reminded us of what not to be talking about (i.e. piracy) they pretty much said unless there was a new thread started by Bioware with an update they would not close it down. There has been far worse bickering over the 130 odd pages than we are currently having. The difference is most other people can see 2 sides of a coin and are willing to admit that there are alternatives to what they perceive. There hasn't been a lot of straight out crying in a while

Why dont you complainers grow up a bit. obviously Bioware is working on getting RTO bug fixes. That last thing we players want is a bug to spoil our game play. There fore we must have patience. The force is still with us all. An besides Mass effect 2 will be out soon.
With all due respect, I think this is exactly what a lot of us are concerned about. I, for one, would like to go into ME2 with DAO mostly resolved. It's a peace-of-mind thing so we can go into a completely seperate game with focused minds. I can't imagine this is just me.
That having been said, it's not really something to get all bent out of shape over. Those of us defending Bioware through all of this are just as frustrated as everybody else, but a lot of us have been with them for the long haul and have faith that they will eventually deliver. This is a small hiccup in the grand scheme of things and has done little to damage my love and respect for a company that has developed some of my favorite games of all time.
