will there be a update for those of us who have sadly had our games messed up ?
yeah. I'm with you Jason. I don't even give a crap anymore about the DLC. I just want my damn game fixed, without having to do a 10-step cache deleting process, just to get my game to work again and get my specializations fixed. It's RIDICULOUS that a system update has royally f***ked up this game. No response from anybody. we are all just talking to each other and preaching to the choir, at this point.
BIOWARE, MICROSOFT, EA, WHOEVER DID IT-PLEASE!!Fix what you broke, 1st, THEN worry about the stupid DLC. I spent 60 bucks on this already bugged game and now you just made it worse.

Thanks for the response on the Novels. I have to order them online it looks like. Bummer.
Anyway. I know that some people are upset about the silence (I'm not, but while I disagree with the opposing point of view I understand).
I take it to mean that they are working on the problem, there is no news to report, and as soon as there is news we will get it. The last time we got a "no news to report" post, some people claiming to work in IT and other computer related endeavors went insane and got us up to 149 pages of 'That wasn't an update', and 'Bioware has destroyed my Faith".
It's a Holiday here in the States, so I'm guessing we won't hear much today anyway.

Anybody else considering not buying this DLC cuz of this ridiculous delay...?
Nope. I already bought it, played it, fixed my specialization bug myself and then played it again.
So I can't 'not buy it' at this point, and although there are things about the DLC I would have liked to be different - overall I am not displeased.

If I have to wait for them to get the DLC right and make it look good, I say good for them for wanting to make something of excellent quality. It is about time a game company took the time to put something out that is worth the wait even if it isnt a huge DLC. But those are just my thoughts

And how does a holiday in the States affect a Canadian company?

They are part of Electronic Arts, an American company. The company also has at least one office in the US, so it's not strictly a Canadian Company. I can easily see how they would be affected by an American Holiday at this point.

Prolly the same way a rushed out broken title update for the 360 affects the PC release of DLC.

but personally I think that when new info comes out this stupid whine infested topic needs sinking to the bottom where it belongs.
But think about the mooses, WHY WONT ANYONE THINK ABOUT THE MOOSES!?!?!? (is mooses the plural of moose?)
I give it a 50/50 split that it will be locked. You can never predict what those silly canadians will do
Yep just keep derailing the thread after being warned not to multiple times, oh and keep complaining about those that have the nerve to be looking for an update 4+ days later because those people are just so wrong!! How dare they! **** troll.

Because they tried to rush it out before christmas. Remember when they said they hopefully would get pc/360 Rto before christmas, thats an alarm right there.
This Holiday season ETA messed everything up, and they gave a release date they HOPED they could pull of, not taking last minute problems into consideration.
Their money week was around christmas so that's what they went for, all or nothing. Hopefully with their next DLCs, they won't be so casual throwing release dates around, thinking noone cares if they miss it.

at least give credit to George R.R. he does periodically state updates about the status of the book. Which is more than I can say for some people around here :-p
George's updates often are as far as six months apart (yes, I subscribe to his website and 'not a blog'). He spends football season talking football (and rightly so), He spends convention season discussing his trips and the TV pilot. He talks wildcards, anthologies and other things - and there is nothing wrong with that. So really, once Bioware hasn't given an update on Ostagar for months we can compare the two.

Bioware brought this on themselves, and you know why?

While I am more than patient about this, I think you are right. The "Holiday Season" and then subsequent rush to get RTO out by the 5th of Jan was likely a tactical error. My benchmark now is to see what happens with Awakenings. Will they be on time? Will it be worth the wait? How many bugs will affect my enjoyment of the title?
I can forgive one or two glitched releases easily - Mass Effect has some issues as well. But when performance issues and delivery issues continue, it makes me wait longer to pick up any new content, or depending on the title - not pick it up at all.

Right around 75 minutes. Though I had to get up at least once to help my daughter back into bed. Due to that I can't be certain of the exact time. However, my second playthough was almost 60 minutes, and I am usually pretty thorough. I suspect that when I play through with other characters, the time will be significantly less.

If you recall back to when the book was first delayed, there were frequent updates on what was wrong, and what was going on and what not. After something has been delayed years, there's really no need to update on it every day or month or what not.

Fair enough. I can concur with that idea
I still think that 4 days or even a week without an update is not a crime. But as I said, I can also see why it upsets some people.

However, web developers are generally a different group than software develpers. I still have some faith in these guys.
