so I spent 400 points so they could break my game. dose anyone know how long it takes to make a patch to fix another patch? I wanted to start a new character. Should I start playing or wait until they have fixed this issue?

I suspect it will take days again at least, as the whole thing will probably need to go through all phases of testing again. It's not much good of course if you put the thing up, let thousands of people download a bugged version, and then take it offline again.

Could we please get confirmation of whether the PC version will be out? The post that said it would be out "later today" seems to have completely vanished. (edit: ok, it just dropped off the first page. But still.) I've got no problem with waiting, but I'd like to know whether I should keep looking for it tonight or not.

Well at one point the DLC was supposed to be discounted cause of delays. Like that happened. Bioware is well known for letting their mouths write cheques their ass cannot cash.

true story: long before Halo there was this nice company that made some excellent games, including a couple of genre-defining ones such as Pathways to Darkness, Marathon, and Myth:The Fallen Lords. this company was doing really well and had a growing but fervent fanbase, due in no small part to their origins as a community-friendly group and developing games for pc and mac simultaneously.

holiday season, late 90's. the big sequel to the still unparalleled Myth:TFL is launched. anticipated big sales are exceeded. celebration all around! but wait... what's this? OMFG. the installer "uninstalls" the entire hard drive when finished :(((. massive recall. tons of apologies. they'd eventually recover, but had many burned bridges. they put out Oni and worked on Halo and got bought out by M$.

tl;dr: **** happens.

Hence the reason to this day I have never bought anything Developed by Bungie. Before M:TFL I had never heard of their games. Was too busy in the iD software camp to take notice.

Thank you for the update. I had noticed my specializations that I had got  were locked at level 14, and -- being a bit peeved -- I'm relieved to see this has already been noticed and is being fixed.  I'd be pretty upset if I couldn't get that fun blood mage upgrade I'd been waiting for. Thank you for getting onto the problem so quickly. I'll just wait a bit, then.

Yeah but lets be honest one BIG FUBAR and than, nothing. Bungie has never had anything like this. And there very upfront about everything.

Bit of a sham. I don't really appreciate having DLC delayed the day before release, suddenly appear on the marketplace, dissapear again and then be told the updated I downloaded was pretty much a virus. Not a great start to DLC life especially with the shoddy stuff that was released for Mass Effect (two DLCs and I would say the second was one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever induldged in).

Hopefully these are just teething problems and BioWare begin to pick up a bit of a knack for DLC with Dragon Age and the soon to be released Mass Effect 2.

What they could do is make a patch that opens all the specializations, that might suck for all the work they put in to the game to make you work for them, but its a quick fix.

Well, if you'd bothered to look for comments from people who downloaded the leaked version, you'd know that from day one.

Explain pls?

I mean reports like that one:
"After installing this dlc pack, when creating a new character (mage), I got one more entropy magic line, with another drain life and 3 empty (black) slots. Anybody else is having the same thing showing up? Other than that I haven’t noticed anything strange…"

I have this bug too

Guys, I don't know if anyone's checked, but I deleted RTO DLC from my xbox hard drive. Then, just to see if I could, I checked the downloads page and it offered the choice to download it again. So I did, checked my hard drive, and found the full 134 MB's worth of DLC back.

I haven't downloaded the update. Haven't launched the game, so I couldn't tell you if it's working properly or not.

Just in case, don't try it. Unless you are ready to brave potentially corrupting all your saves...

This sounds like another bad bug. And after some other sort of bad bug, I assume? I assume this isn't the same bad bug that was delaying Ostagar from the January 5th release?

I hope this doesn't end up being another Mysteries of Westgate...

I don't see how starting your post with the AOL Front Page news, and ending with how you helped donate to it has anything to do with DAO.

Helps keeping things in a perspective?

Hello Dragon Age fans

This morning a title update on the Xbox 360 for Dragon Age: Origins was made available in preparation for the release of Return to Ostagar. This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins. We are removing Return to Ostagar from Xbox Live until the issue is resolved and are recommending that you do not download the title update.  If you have already performed the update, we apologize for this and are working hard to ensure a fix is available as soon as possible.

We will provide more information to you when it is available.

This information is incomplete.  You talk about 360 but not about pc or ps3.  I'm going to give it to you all straight at Bioware.  I've been reading your ,moderators posts that only give us bits and pieces for a while, but instead of protecting your heads from people complaining about release dates that are not met you are instead giving people the impression of a lack of professionalism.  This kind of half answer to peoples need to know what to expect is disheartening to a community that is waiting for your product.  I'm not saying you need to set a date, I'm just saying that you need to be straight forward and address all platforms in such a post. I see this as a 360 only post hence the reason why many people started their own for pc, which moderators have locked. I went to bed expecting to wake up to the dlc, but not only was it not available but the website had no information as to the why of it.  How hard would it be to simply add in that although you had hoped to have PC up complications arose that delayed it and that there is still no new information for the PS3. I was disappointed like many when the release was delayed from the last date we were given but at least we were notified of the reason if not the specifics.  I'm sure you are all as frusterated at receiving flaming threads as I am at reading them, but please don't let that interfer with your professional behavoir and your responsiblity to your audience.

It's 4am here do you know where your dlc is?

I don't think that the re-locking bug is connected to the DLC but to the patch that was released yesterday.

I haven't got RTO yet but on a new game started after I installed the patch all specialisations were locked.

Let's go back to last week shall we?

Somebody claimed they would NOT specify a date of release that they couldn't keep.

In the original post yesterday, somebody stated the DLC would be available for the PC 'later today' (I noticed how the letters PC got removed from said title with no update). It's now gone 2am Edmonton time and your OP in this topic doesn't state anything regarding what has happened to the PC release.

Considering the poor 'community co-ordination' of this company, whilst I will possibly get RtO whenever it is delivered (because I paid for the points for it), I am seriously considering cancelling my order of Mass Effect 2 and not bothering to buy any future Bioware products.

So the patch gave out problems?

I normaly love irony but since I am now unable to play Dragon age the humour is lost on me.

If my company would behave like this, we would be out of business very fast! ^^
All i can say after this new delay is...WTF!

I'm sorry that my first post is of disappointment, but I can't help it, this bug basically broke the game for me. No problem if I could just relock all the specializations, but they disappear again when I retun to the 360 board.

Is there a way to delete everything DAO related, this awful patch included? I'll gladly lose my saves if it means that I can play the game again without problems.

I hope this problem will be solved in a short time, with the expansion coming I wanted to replay the game (and I don't think I'm the only one) to make a "perfect" save to import.
