ehhh...what?
Isnt that the problem here, that they have given ETR 3 times.
Have they? I never noticed. The only ETA I ever saw was the original release date. Mind you, I also don't spend every waking minute waiting for an official update to the trouble to come out either.

It's a Holiday here in the States, so I'm guessing we won't hear much today anyway.
And how does a holiday in the States affect a Canadian company?
It doesn't..not for DA:O Origins...it might for the MMO they are making...thats originating from Austin, Texas.
Someone stated a few days ago, that Bioware tends to do things on TUESDAYS..so thats what I am keeping my fingers crossed for. Also I note that some of the staff and mods seem to be migrating between here and the Mass Effect forums..so I get the impression that perhaps until the ME2 release they're going to be stretched a bit thin.
Whatever I'll keep checking.![]()
BIOWARE is like pretty much every other game and movie production company in the US. All DVD's and video games come out on Tuesday's. It's a correlation between when department stores receive shipments from what I understand. Why this would adhear to DLC, I don't know. Probably just to keep things symmetrical I suppose. But yeah, if anything is going to happen, I suspect it will be tomorrow. If not, we better find something else to talk about for the rest of the week. So here's something we can talk about. My wife and I saw today that our first child is going to be a boy. Maybe when he's born I'll have RtO and Awakening? lol. Hmm what else? I'm watching the movie "White Water Summer" on DVD right now. How bout you?

What is so magical about Tuesday? That's fine if you're just having that be your release date, but...when you deliver this much of a colossal, thoroughly epic failure, you work on the solution until it's completed, and then release it immediately when done. I'm sorry, but "we normally do these things on Tuesday" doesn't cut it here. Not by a long shot.
I hope that the Austin team is a far cry better than this one, because the longer this drags out without the courtesy of any kind of update--or better yet, a SOLUTION--it is just making it look like BW is in no way equipped to support an MMO.
I don't know..person said that when they tended to do updates/releases for the other games they've made..it happened on Tuesdays. Thats all I have to go on.

People can blame Microsoft or Sony or EA or Bob in accounting or whomever they wish as much as they want; what it boils down to is that the developers of the game itself, responsible for creating the DLC, failed to properly test it before letting it out of their office.

after RTO releases, threads will start and they will begin with this
WTF SHORT DLC DELAYED SO MUCH?
WAS WAITING FOR THIS
FUUUUUUUUUCK
While usually I would chalk this up to different posters being concerned about different issues, considering that at least a handful of contributors (and I use the term loosely) to this thread seem to have not eaten or slept since the first announcement, I fully expect those future threads to be populated by more of the same.

Tuesdays are very unlikely to have a holiday, for any country, thus making it that much easier for a global release. If a holiday falls on a tuesday, it is either expected (as in a Christmas holiday season) or rare (4th of July, 1st of July).
That's fine if you're just having that be your release date, but...when you deliver this much of a colossal, thoroughly epic failure, you work on the solution until it's completed, and then release it immediately when done. There seems to be a big stress on 'unforeseen' about this 'bug'- my opinion on the matter is that they should have had someone sit down and test the update for even half an hour before releasing it to the planet. The specilization issue is not easy to miss.

Technically it was the rushed out title update they didn't test very well before releasing it to Xbox live. But I get what you're saying.

Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen
I find it peculiar that Return to Ostagar did not have the length one would have anticipated.
I for one, find that scandalous.

Yeah, I have to agree, whatever happened here is pretty shady, that's a pretty glaringly obvious issue. But that said, let's get back to what we were doing. Kevin Bacon back when he mattered, the 80's lol. Sean Astin way before he was grovelling Mister Frodo. They just don't make movies like they used to :-p

Well, um actually, BW took a $60 game that was working perfectly fine, and the broke it with their buggy-ass title update, so yeah, they kind of do owe us something: a solution to the problem that THEY created. They already have their money for the game, and yet the game doesn't work. That falls squarely into the definition of "owing me something." It has nothing to do with an "inflated sense of entitlement."

They are part of Electronic Arts, an American company. The company also has at least one office in the US, so it's not strictly a Canadian Company. I can easily see how they would be affected by an American Holiday at this point.
The American Holiday has absolutely zero impact on this, nor does EA, the "parent" company.
BioWare runs everything in DA:O out of Edmunton, Canada.
BioWare does have offices in the USA (such as Austin, TX), where other products such as SW:TOR (not DA:O) are being developed but DA:O operations are 100% Cannuck.

There should be more than enough content on The Nexus to keep people going untill the DLC, guess thats why they made the modding toolset available

EVIDENTLY..it slipped thru Bioware's testing, AND EA's all the way to MS, according to that Awakenings IGN interview. Guess its lucky they found it, but it still messed up some games and stuff for people.

There are people in the points.bioware section of this forum who feel they've been misled by the game's official website in purchasing points for a product they thought was available. There are also people asking for their points refunded for whatever reason. Since people's complaints are well beyond the realm of asking for RtO to just be released (and are indeed simply asking for any piece of information) why should Tuesdays be considered the only day of the week?
This website is undergoing changes today, from what I can see with the new Mass Effect forums. So someone is working. It's only been four or so days since we last got official word on any issue related to RtO and its strange release-and-pull, but there are a large number of complaints to be left to just fester for four days.
But, yeah, we'll probably get updates tomorrow. Because it's Tuesday. I guess I'll keep that in mind and save myself some time from now on. I just thought, y'know, given the circumstances they could be a little less simple than that for once.

No matter what, there are going to be those who complain about these things, and there are going to be those who apologize for the developer. There is no middle ground, apparently; you're either one or the other. No point arguing /shrug
FWIW I agree with you, though.

Do you really have nothing else to do? Does playing DA:O sustain you? Do you require it to live? If yes, then I'll gladly put my foot in my mouth.
Otherwise, wait.

They're working on it, GOT..it was stated they were in the IGN article. As to how long it takes to produce the fix..I have no clue. Then once its produced I guess it has to go through certification again.
Then..once the 360 people have their stuff fixed, maybe..just maybe us PC users will get to see RTO...heh

As for rather or not bioware is ready for an MMO, I think SW OR will do good, don't think it'll do good enough to knock WC off it's perch but that's a defferent story. I do wish Bioware & WoTC would mend their old relationship & create a D&D forgotten realms style MMO that kicks Blizzard & their golden child in the rear. lol.
