It's my guess too. It's an industry-wide trend to touch bases with the masses only on Tuesdays. I just don't understand it is all, and think it's a rule that should be more readily bent.
Let me explain the whole Tuesday thing, using an example that the business world likes to refer to as Impact.
In my line of work, equipment eventually fails. It's a certainty. There are contingencies in place to minimize the effects of a failed piece of equipment. Most times, when equipment fails, the worst the customer sees is a blip. Impact is minimum. Nevertheless, this equipment has to be replaced or repaired, otherwise that blip could get a whole lot bigger. However, when repairing the faulty equipment, Impact must once again be addressed. It has happened in the past where the simple act of repairing faulty equipment has caused further equipment failures in previously working modules. They're freak occurences, but they have happened before. So, equipment repairs have to be conducted at a time when customer Impact is at the lowest point. And in our industry, that is the middle of the night.
Conversely, Impact can also be used by other industries with which to maximize the impact to their customers. Movies, for example, are almost always released on a Friday, because moost of the working world gets the weekend off, and what better way to start a weekend than going and seeinga new release movie on a Friday night?
In the video game industry, providers wish to minimize Impact to their customer base if they have to take their service down or replace it. The best way to do that is to find out what day of the week has the least amount of customer activity, and make that your maintenance day. Tuesday just happens to be a day where holidays rarely fall upon, and almost every working adult or studying student is either working/at school on Tuesday. Monday and Friday are out, because most adults and students have the day off and spend the day entertaining themselves. And though I'm not 100% certain of this, I am willing to bet a dozen doughnuts this is why Blizzard conducts server maintenance on Tuesdays for World of Warcraft.

No one's asking for a fix yesterday, just a little communication on the status of said fix for the 360 users and when we can actually download the non "leaked" version thats available this holiday season/already released according to the EA mailer sent out the other day. Thats about it. I don't see why thats so much to ask for to the few people who feel Bioware can do no wrong no matter how many dates they miss.
Would you rather Bioware dedicate their efforts fixing the issue? Or would you rather they waste their productive time giving you updates every few hours?
I, for one, would prefer the former.
