i'm totally dissapointed.. i wasn't expecting such a letdown from bioware.. when they announced it, i was like, wow, that would be really nice... but now.. meh, don't care anymore. bioware, redeem yourself!

The first time i tried to create a second DA character, my current one was erased. I know that it was saved as the top save file. So what do i have to do to create a second character. Should i save it in another slot?

I've seen some funky behavior when starting a new game with a main character that has the same character name and is very similar to another you already have.  This, of course, may be confusion and/or head space error by the player, especially when selecting a character.  This is compounded when the main characters have the same or very similar names.  Try starting a new game from a fresh boot of the game from desktop and be sure to create your new main character using a completely different name from the one(s) you already have.

Your first character isn't erased. On the load-save screen, there should be an option to switch characters. Click that and select your old character, and your old saves will pop up. The game's designed in such a way that it keeps people from accidentally erasing their character's progress (unless you actively go into your character list and start deleting them).

Thanks to you i maybe just solved it! 1. I don't think that i had an online profile when i used my old character.
2. i didn't see the switch character button. 3. I'll try to not use the same names. Thanks!

We still have no updates on RTO! How sad If anyone knows a link to someone who has recorded their play through of RTO it would be much appreciated if you gave it to me!!! I doubt RTO will be out any time soon(next month or less) so I'll be filling my gaming hours playing AVP!!!

:innocent: THANK GOD. IT WORKED!!  -I did the cache clearing last night and everything is back to normal and all my specializations are showing unlocked again.  After I cleared the cache, I restarted 360 and loaded up a save in my camp, (just so I could see my whole party at once.  All of the previously lost specializations from the update bug were now showing as unlocked (including ones I unlocked with a manual).  I made a new save slot, just to be on the safe side and turned off the system.  Turned it back on and specializations were still showing as unlocked..so, it seems for now this cache clearing thing DOES work and is a safe workaround to the update bug.  Now if they would just fix the dexterity bug, I will be even that much happier.  But fixing the specialization bug has made this playable again and I am happy with that.

Go to system settings.  Go to memory. Press Y (device options) and select "clear cache". That was it.
I tested it by talking to Zeveran to get the Assasin specialization to unlock. Saved right there. Turned off system, restarted and resumed game.  When I went to level up, assasin was showing unlocked for me (rogue) and also for Leliana.  Also my champion specialization showed back up that I originally lost from completing Redcliffe. So...hopefully when my my next character is ready to go level 14, they will all still be unlocked and we are good to go but based on the Zeveran test, I believe it is now working normally again.
