So I am curious if the release was premature and pirated how did it appear in xbox market place? I only knew the RTO existed because the game stated that there was an update. Thus believed that RTO was finally on the market.

There is nothing totally solid. From what I have gathered is that the title update was supposed to be released but somehow RtO got tied into it. Some have mentioned that the market place had RtO listed as being released on 1/14/09 and that did it.

A server monkey at Microsoft typed 01/14/2009 instead of 01/14/2010, resulting in the system to "think" that the content was already released, thus automatically releasing it.
This also shows that the "premature" part is a bit imprecise (IE: a simple way for misguided individuals to try and make Bioware look less subject to blame than they should be for the mess-up), given that content on xbox live requires certification. If it was certified and inserted on the server to be released the day after, then it was not "premature" at all. It had already been tested (albeit poorly) and certified.

It was just a ruse to fool the simple minded.

I've watched this RTO nonsense for well over a month, multiple threads swelling to hundreds of comments only to be locked and reborn, so here is my two cents.

If you have been ripped off or pissed off by BW, as I have, stop complaining.  Stop arguing with the shills and dimbulbs who make out like the situation is somehow your problem.

Simply resolve to not purchase a BW product again.  That is how the market works.  Companies which put out poor quality products (and the numerous unfixed bugs in DAO make it mediocre at best) and/or screw around with their customers (RTO) tend to lose said customers.

No one cares about your gripes on a board.  They may pretend to care, and appoint some 'community manager' to pacify the sheep, but NO ONE CARES about your complaints.

Companies ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY.  If you want to send a message don't spend your money with BW, its as simple as that.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

Because some were able to download it before the mistake was discovered and pulled off the console market.  Trouble was..being it was a faulty update..it locked up specializations and corrupted save files.

K I'm out of here before the posse comes again..ahaha :D

BTW I tried the whole delete cache memory fix and it did not unlock the now locked character specializations. I may have to actually delete RTO just to play through again and get them to unlock. Waste of time in my opinion as I now no longer have the luxury of playing all day. When it originally came out I had all the time in the world being on vacation and all. Now real life beacons.

Did you unlock a specialization, save, exit the game, and restart the Xbox after clearing the cache?

And of course Abby will never ever give credit to Bioware..because his royal highness is expecting a personal visit from a CEO no less over a 5 dollar dlc.....

Sorry every time I think about it  I have to laugh. :D

Why do you keep misleading people? The title update is what broke specilzations. How many posts from 360 users that say so does it take for it to be true?

So given that there is an easy workaround for the Specialization bug AND the bug affected people who didn't even download RtO, can we get RtO back on the marketplace by Friday? I know people who did download it and have no problems with their games after fixing specialization. Seems silly to keep the DLC away from peeps when it's only problem is easily fixed.

That's all well and good, Sarah.

But for PC users, why can't we have the DLC? :(

Or Console users as well. The XBox fix is easy and takes 10 seconds to do.

Where is she saying it was RtO and not the update? Would it be the part "Trouble was..being it was a faulty update" How you mistake UPDATE for DLC/RtO is beyond me.

Since you seem confused let me walk you thru it.
"Because some were able to download it before the mistake was discovered and pulled off the console market."
That is her first sentance. It is in reponse to DD_74's question of how it ended up on the market and that it was pulled off becaquse it was not ment for release at that time.
Second sentance.
"Trouble was..being it was a faulty update..it locked up specializations and corrupted save files."
Clearly stating that the trouble was tied to the update.

I hope this helps.

I'm not confused at all, Fera's made it pretty obvious on more than one occasion that she believes the DLC itself is broken or unfinished. Its why when you ask her to logically explain why a title update on the 360 can hold back the DLC on the PC she either has nothing to say aside some snide comment, or deflects and changes the subject.

Well personally as an avid online gamer iv had my fare share of updates and DLC pushed out to early by the marketing teams, all buged to hell and unplayable for me im happy that bioware at least seem to be putting quality first, and as for regular updates on what's happening what do you guys want a statement every day saying what? its still broken but we are working on it.

Gaming is more akin to drug addiction than normal consumerism. The quality and enjoyment derived from the product outweighs any expectations that are put on the companies that provide them.
People even make excuses for total strangers, and call the upset consumer a whiner.
That is free market society turned on its ear.

And Sarah has only that ammunition against me..which was solved MANY days ago, but...she's still stuck in the past.   She obviously doesn't read anything at all..pertaining to what I say...when did I post something like that last?   Over a week ago at least.

Ah well..not my worry is it?   Now go back to playing me and my shadow with Abby...hehe

Maybe if you took your time to actually read my posts, instead of selectively reading only the ones that insult your fangirl self, you'd notice that I give a LOT of credit to bioware where and when it's due, as much as I criticize them where and when it's due.

That's what they call being balanced. Unfortunately some wouldn't understand balance even if it jumped on them and bit them in their rear.

Okay. So point to me where she says that in the comment she made and you qouted.

This is not a discussion about what she has said in the past, but what you qouted and claimed was misleading.

The product was released early and by accident ..it was still in Q& A testing status.  Then people pirated it.

I guess people don't read up on things around here, they just come here to carry pitchforks?

There is a bug fix on the way..and new testing perimeters have been set up...they are testing all platforms with these new testing methods....so its going to take some time.

If you doubt, just check for Dev/moderator information...by clicking the blue bioware tag you see in the forums, attached to any tag.   Information is there, and no spam posts.[/quote]

Will that do or do you need me to go link a few more? Or would you perfer to go cherry pick another post or two,and take things out of context trying to further some cause that those complaining should be silenced?
