I've watched this RTO nonsense for well over a month, multiple threads swelling to hundreds of comments only to be locked and reborn, so here is my two cents.

If you have been ripped off or pissed off by BW, as I have, stop complaining.  Stop arguing with the shills and dimbulbs who make out like the situation is somehow your problem.

Simply resolve to not purchase a BW product again.  That is how the market works.  Companies which put out poor quality products (and the numerous unfixed bugs in DAO make it mediocre at best) and/or screw around with their customers (RTO) tend to lose said customers.

No one cares about your gripes on a board.  They may pretend to care, and appoint some 'community manager' to pacify the sheep, but NO ONE CARES about your complaints.

Companies ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY.  If you want to send a message don't spend your money with BW, its as simple as that.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

I think you may want to look at your own computer, instead of blaming the developer.  I have played DA:O through nearly three times, and I have not had any problems at all.  Perhaps you should review optimal requirements before buying a game.

Another retard rears its head....where did I say anything about performance issues?  As far as what makes this game mediocre, let me see, without any effort there is the archery/dex bug, ancient elven boots missing, +healing items not working, memory leak/long loads....just to name a few....all bugs, all unfixed and unpatched.  Most would say these are not major issues, and I would tend to agree so that begs the question.  If they are so 'minor', why have they not been patched and fixed several months after release?

Actually bioware is at a liberty to tell us even how many times a day they get a coffee break, if they so want.

what do you guys want a statement every day saying what? its still broken but we are working on it.

That is the simple minimum I expect for failing to deliver a promised product.  Is it really so difficult for a customer service person to release a simple update once every 24 hours?

They have given what is available to give at this point and time, unless of course you would like to go to their offices and stand over their desks with a whip?    Its a 45 minute to hour long dlc.    Put that into focus.

Don't be so utterly ridiculous, and try to twist an utterly sensible request for a daily status report into the delivery time for a product I have paid for and has not been delivered.  Even saying further regression bugs have been found and we expect a further day/week/month before we can consider releasing the product, is acceptable a wall of silence is not.

Any more insults such as 'fanboy/fangirl', 'troll', 'retard', etc. and I'm going to hand out vacations.

You can discuss your differences in a civil manner, or you can be prevented from discussing them at all. Your choice.

It's not too much to ask for a little communication. You've got it.
What's too much to ask for is more than the communication you've been given.
BioWare is only at liberty to tell us what we need to know. I wouldn't expect them to tell us anymore than that.
We are paying customers, yes... some of us have even paid for RtO already and aren't able to play it because of this cafuffle. They certainly are more irritated than the average fan. But most people have NOT paid for it yet, and so we are owed nothing. Even the explanations we've been given weren't owed to us.

Anyone that has spent money on points, and is fed up with waiting, I suggest requesting a refund. Otherwise, you've lost nothing, so quit your bellyaching.

Yes I agree.Im not demanding that they tell us things we dont need to know(Im not really demanding anything just suggesting). It just comforts me as a customer to get some updates on how its going.

C'mon Goth this isn't a matter of national security here, its an update on a late piece of video game content.

Hmmm. Here's a pretty good representation of why this thread, this company, and this very world is going to the crapper quick and readily.

You're right Feraele. You're not special. You're just a consumer. Don't ask for much do you? That's nice. How nice to be nice.

There is no other industry I can think of that'd get away with what BioWare has gotten away with. Video games are a luxury item for people with money to waste, and is given a very loyal and devoted consumer base. And as we've seen, that leeway is taken for granted. If this were a smaller company trying to earn customers, anyone who purchased BioWare Points on January 13th (when BioWare said on this forum that RtO would be ready "later today") would've been offered a refund RIGHT away, and we probably WOULD hear some apologies from the higher-ups. Any other industry, any other product: I wouldn't have to ask for a refund, a refund would be common sense. I wouldn't have to come back again and again to the forums for news: the company would be instead eagerly giving news to me. Imagine ordering a sweater from your favorite major clothing retailer. Imagine ordering parts for your car. Imagine any other tangible product and imagine how it's delay would be handled by the company to you, the customer who has already paid.

But even in this now-utterly-crap industry, Feraele, some business owners don't consider their paying customers to be simply not worth talking to - and whatever the customers may be saying, the owners have the decency and cajones to address their customer directly. Did you not know that?

i don't want to be "that" guy, but its spelled (co)jones, not cajones... cajones is plural for a storage trunk/box, (co)jones means... the, uhm... exactly what you meant.

With all due respect, how come a moderator can come on to threaten people who are decidedly unhappy with paying for a product and not getting it, but can't get us an update that would shut us up in the first place?

Because forum moderators are unpaid volunteers that don't have a direct line to the development team.

Perhaps "minor" in terms of effect are not so minor in terms of resolution. The Dex bug has been fixed as of the current patch. The ancient elven boots are misplaced (but still findable, perhaps it's actually intentional?) and the slow downs/load time issue has been called a memory leak by the PR people (but was only "maybe" from the actual coding people) and doesn't affect everyone.  It may affect as much as 50% of users but does show a pattern related to hardware configuration. That tends to make it a very elusive problem and may not be something fixable within the scope of the game (it might be a problem with certain coding located in drivers for CPU's for example causing this inexplicable behavior.)

i agree, a Mod comes here, oh wow, like i give a damn. the mods should let us know what is going on, not telling us what to do, all we want is some info on what the hell is taking so long, is that so hard to do, no Mods just over use power and think they are better then everyone else, it is true.

as already stated, mods have NO direct line to bioware, EOR, or anything dev wise.
they are volunteer people that are here to keep things civil, not related to the companies in question.

You might think there would be some some comfort in getting some sort of regular update but if you stop and consider what those updates would bring it might become clear to you why daily updates when there is little or nothing new to report other than the fact that they are working on things are pointless.

They would just encourage more of the same drivel being posted in this thread except now all the whiners would have a new dev post to pick apart and deride and pepper with more questions asking for more details that are not going to be forthcoming and then the folks who understand that such vitriol is uncalled for would in turn deride the deriders and bingo another 177 pages of nonsense is born.

Here's a suggestion for you if you really want updates on this situation - every day come to the forums and click on the bioware logo beneath this or any related thread/topic you seek solid information on - this will take you to all the dev posts made in the thread - you can see if there is anything new from official sources and eliminate browsing through the midden mounds of BS posted by angry children and then simply move on to something more productive for your day than participating in the bashing or defending back and forth that plagues these forums.

Just to clear up your misconceptions from the horse's mouth, as it were:

Moderators are just community members like everyone else. We've volunteered to help moderate the boards. We're not BioWare employees, so we have absolutely no more information on this delay than you do. How you think we're over using our power and think we're better than everyone else is beyond me.

To those of you who think I'm threating people that are upset and disgruntled, I'll disabuse you of that notion as well. My warning goes for everyone. I don't care if you love BioWare or hate them, but insulting and flaming each other is contrary to the rules of conduct on these boards and I've been receiving complaints about it. If it continues you'll be temporarily  banned form posting Whether you're defending BioWare or criticizing them is of no concern. But how you treat others on these boards is.

Actually it's not at all like this, far from it infact.
You simply can't compare protests for better working conditions to angry forum people nerdraging at each other... .
Some people should take a deep breath, relax and stop insulting each other.
Moderators keep forums at order, or would you suggest because BW messed up, their Moderators should start messing up too? Doesn't sound too bright to me... .

Concering RtO, as I said, Bioware messed up... and that's about it.
Or do you really think BW is happy with their RtO performance? It's not like you could brag about it, don't you think?
